Chapter 1578: Chapter 1516: Obedience Makes a Good Child
Wufu felt her future was bleak, almost foreseeing the iron-blue face of Ah Jiu when he found her.
Yonghe saw the regret on her face, feeling somewhat gloomy, and said, "You truly regret it."
"Ah, what should I do? Ah Jiu will probably kill me, ow." Wufu winced in pain and pressed her ribs.
"What happened to you?"
Wufu rolled her eyes at her, "You donāt actually think Iām a god, do you? Falling from such a height and having a fight, how could I be unharmed?"
I probably have internal injuries.
"Iām sorry!" Yonghe lowered her head, "Itās all because of me. If I hadnāt listened to Ping Xi and challenged you, none of this would have happened."
"I donāt think youāre a fool, so how did you get provoked by her? And such an obvious provocation, challenging a commoner like me, arenāt you embarrassed?" Wufu rolled her eyes again.
Yonghe said, "I knew she was deliberately provoking, but I genuinely love riding and archery, and I wanted to find an opponent."
"To put it bluntly, itās vanity. Why do you need to find an opponent to prove yourself? Little sister, let me tell you, your greatest opponent is yourself. If youāre better today than you were yesterday, thatās progress."
Yonghe looked confused.
"Forget it, you donāt get it. Your clothes are dry, go hunt for some prey, princess good at riding and archery." Wufu instructed her.
Yonghe widened her eyes, pointing at herself, "You want me to hunt?"
Wufu glanced at her with a half-smile, "What, canāt do it? Good children listen!"
Yonghe didnāt dare to argue, afraid she might say something that would leave her stranded here, and said, "I donāt have a bow and arrow, how do I hunt?"
"Thatās why youāre looking for an opponent, good at riding and archery, does it have to be with a bow and arrow?" Wufu scoffed, looking around, she picked up a branch from nearby, drew a dagger from her leg, sharpened it, and threw it into a plantain tree: "See that?"
Yonghe exclaimed, "You are indeed stronger than me."
She walked over, pulled out the branch, picked up two thicker ones, imitating Wufu, used her dagger to sharpen them, dressed herself, and hobbled away.
Seeing her leave, Wufu also took off her underclothes, turned to look at her back, where a new wound stretched across, she sighed, applied the remaining herbs on it, tore a strip from her underclothes to bandage it, and dressed again.
While Yonghe was hunting, she looked around the place again, surrounded by mountains, all cliffs, unable to find a way out.
Either wait here for someone to find them or find a way themselves, but with a weakling by her side, Wufu dared not make a hasty decision. Both were injured, and darkness was falling fast. Getting lost in these mountains could lead to bigger problems.
After pondering, Wufu decided to make do here for the night. To stay overnight, they needed firewood, or else it would be troublesome if wild animals were attracted.
Having made up her mind, she found a relatively sheltered spot, gathered a large bunch of firewood. By the time Yonghe eagerly returned with two pheasants, she had already set up a place for the night.
"Not bad," Wufu praised her.
Yonghe smiled and looked at the setup, showing some curiosity.
"Itās getting dark, weāll make do here for the night and find the way out tomorrow," Wufu explained.
Yonghe said nothing, nodding obediently. Wufu breathed a slight sigh of relief. Fortunately, she was sensible; a spoiled girl insisting on leaving would have been a headache.
