Chapter 72: Chapter 70: Do You Still Have Him in Your Heart? (Part 3)
"No talking!"
"I said..."
"Say another word and get out!"
"..."
In the end, Bai Yiran still stood at the Bai Familyās doorstep. This house was bought by Bai Hongguang later on, and Bai Yiran had only been here once before, at the age of eighteen. That year, her grandmother fell seriously ill and needed surgery. Her uncle had spent all the money for the surgery but still needed more, so Bai Yiran had no choice but to ask her biological father, Bai Hongguang, for money. Instead, she was severely mocked by Gu Manli, who tossed a wad of cash at her feet as if she were a beggar. As Bai Yiran crouched down to pick up the money bill by bill, she secretly vowed never to spend another penny of Bai Hongguangās money in her life!
Now, coming back here, Bai Yiranās mood was not very good.
"Letās go in!" Compared to Bai Yiranās heaviness, Bai Qiantong seemed particularly happy. If it werenāt for his limping, he wouldnāt look like heād just been beaten.
Bai Qiantong knocked on the door, and Bai Yiran helped him walk inside. The interior was bright, large, and luxurious, with a family portrait hanging prominently in the center of the living room. In the photo, Bai Hongguang, Gu Manli, Bai Qiantong, and Bai Qianyu were all smiling brightly and happily.
Bai Yiran found the family portrait particularly glaring. If her mother hadnāt died in that car accident, would the family photo have included Bai Hongguang and her and her mother?
No...
Bai Yiran sneered inwardly. Even if her mother hadnāt passed away, Gu Manli would still be there, and so would Bai Qianyu and Bai Qiantong. She and her mother still wouldnāt be happy!
With this thought, Bai Yiranās grip on Bai Qiantongās arm tightened, causing him pain.
Bai Qiantong yelped, "Are you trying to strangle me!"
Upon hearing Bai Qiantongās cry, Gu Manli hurriedly ran down from the second floor. Seeing Bai Yiran grasping Bai Qiantongās arm with an unpleasant expression, she rushed over and pushed Bai Yiran away.
"Bai Yiran! What are you doing!"
Gu Manli yanked Bai Qiantong over. Because of her strong grip, she aggravated his injuries, and Bai Qiantongās handsome face immediately twisted in pain.
"Mom! Be gentle! It hurts!"
Only then did Gu Manli notice Bai Qiantongās injuries, and she glared venomously at Bai Yiran, "Bai Yiran, what did you do to my son! You malicious child! Even if Qianyu wronged you, you canāt take it out on our Qiantong! Youāre despicable and shameless!"
Hearing Gu Manliās curses, Bai Yiran sneered and looked at Bai Qiantong, "I knew this would happen."
Bai Yiran deeply regretted being soft-hearted enough to bring Bai Qiantong back.
Seeing this, Bai Qiantong quickly explained, "Mom, donāt blame her without knowing the truth! She didnāt hit me; she saw I was beaten and brought me home."
Gu Manli was stunned, then said, "Bai Yiran, you saw Qiantong being beaten and didnāt take him to the hospital! What were you thinking!"
"Mom! What are you talking about!"
Bai Yiran inwardly cursed herself for being stupid. She didnāt want to stay here for another minute.
"Whatās all the noise about! Donāt you know we have guests at home?" An annoyed voice came from the second floor. Bai Hongguang and a plump middle-aged man were standing upstairs, looking this way.
"Yiran? What are you doing here?" Bai Hongguang didnāt expect to see Bai Yiran at home.
This was the first thing her biological father said upon seeing her...
Before coming here, Bai Yiran had a slight hope that maybe Bai Hongguang would treat her kindly, but reality gave Bai Yiran a harsh slap.
"I really shouldnāt have come..." Bai Yiran said coldly, wanting to turn and leave, but Bai Qiantong grabbed her.
"Are you leaving?"
Bai Yiran looked at Bai Qiantong, "What else? This isnāt my home!" After speaking, Bai Yiran looked at Bai Hongguang on the second floor.
Bai Hongguangās face darkened as he walked down. "We have guests today; why are you all arguing here?"
Gu Manli looked pitifully, "Hongguang! Qiantong was beaten..."
"What!" Bai Hongguangās expression immediately turned anxious, "Qiantong, how did you get beaten? Are you alright? Come over and let dad take a look!"

Bai Qiantong walked over to Bai Hongguang and spun around, "Iām fine. Just got hit a few times, nothing serious."
Is this how father-son affection is shown?
Bai Yiran looked on coldly. She thought she was numb to such scenes by now, but it still wounded her deeply.
Everyone in the living room focused on Bai Qiantong, yet no one noticed a pair of eyes glowing green from the second floor, staring unblinkingly at Bai Yiran.
