Chapter 162: Chapter 156: She Is Not Ungrateful
Since she had decided on divorce, Bai Yiran had no reason to stay in Leng Yichenās house any longer. She informed Lou Jing to come and help pack her things, deciding to move out today.
In fact, she hadnāt lived there for very long, and there werenāt many things that truly belonged to her. She could easily pack and take everything on her own, but she didnāt want to leave this place all alone. That would make her feel quite pitiful. At least with Lou Jingās company, sheād feel a bit better.
Lou Jing arrived quickly. It was her first time here, but she wasnāt in the mood to appreciate how luxurious the house was. She just wanted to take Bai Yiran away from here as soon as possible.
The two quickly packed up Bai Yiranās belongings, each carrying a suitcase downstairs, when they happened to run into Sister Liu returning home.
Seeing Bai Yiran with a suitcase shocked Sister Liu, "Yiran, what are you doing?"
"Sister Liu, thank you for taking care of me during this time. Iām leaving here," Bai Yiran said softly, but she sincerely thanked Sister Liu. After all, when Leng Yichen wasnāt around, it was Sister Liu who kept her company.
"What happened?" Sister Liu became anxious, holding Bai Yiranās hand, "Why are you leaving?"
"Leng Yichen and I are getting a divorce..."
"Divorce!" Sister Liu was shocked, "Mr. Leng is usually very busy, Yiran you should be more understanding. I thought you two were so in love; how can you just divorce like this?"

"Understanding of what!" Lou Jing coldly pulled Sister Liuās hand off Bai Yiran, "Leng Yichen cheated. Should Yiran just put up with it?"
Sister Liu was stunned; she couldnāt believe it. In her eyes, Leng Yichen would never cheat while married, "Yiran, could this be a misunderstanding?"
"What misunderstanding! He admitted it himself!" Lou Jing was a bit impatient, pulling Bai Yiran toward the door, "Why waste words here, letās go!"
Bai Yiran looked apologetically at Sister Liu, knowing Sister Liu was innocent. Lou Jing didnāt need to treat her that way. However, from Lou Jingās perspective, she was just standing up for her friend. Since they couldnāt confront Leng Yichen, venting a little anger on his housekeeper wasnāt too bad.
So, once again, Bai Yiran stayed at Lou Jingās home. When she got married, she had kept it from her grandmother and family; now she had to hide the divorce from them too.
Bai Yiran felt like a sinner, burdening her family and friends with her problems.
Not long ago, she had confidently assured her grandmother she would be happy. But where was happiness now?
After learning about Leng Yichenās infidelity, Lou Jing quit the studio Leng Yichen had set up for her. She stayed home every day watching over Bai Yiran, afraid that her friend might do something foolish in a moment of despair.
But Bai Yiran felt Lou Jing was just overthinking. She wouldnāt give up her life over emotional setbacks. After all, living was more important than anything.
"Whatās your plan next?" Lou Jing asked lightly.
Bai Yiran sat on the bed, looking out the window, "After formally completing the divorce procedures with Leng Yichen, I want to leave here."
"Where to?"
Bai Yiran smiled, "I donāt know, maybe to a simple place. After all this, my deepest understanding is that the worst is often human nature. I want to go where there arenāt so many bad people."
Lou Jing chuckled, "Silly girl, there are bad people everywhere! Well, go wherever you want, Iāll go with you!"
Bai Yiran turned to look at Lou Jing, her heart full of gratitude. Heaven hadnāt been too harsh on her; at least she had a good friend by her side in her most vulnerable times.
Her phone rang just then. Seeing Leng Yichenās name on the caller ID, Bai Yiranās hand paused mid-air before resolutely answering, "What is it?"
"Do you have time this afternoon?"
"Yes."
"Alright, Iāll send a car to pick you up."
"For what?"
"To sign the divorce papers."
Bai Yiranās hand holding the phone trembled, "Okay."
