Chapter 400: Chapter 393: Reaping What You Sow (Part 2)
Luna returned home to find Leng Liewei sitting on the sofa reading a book, his glasses framed with gold, giving him an air of elegance and nobility. Luna put down her bag and sat beside Leng Liewei, her warm body brushing against his arm.
Leng Liewei glanced up at his pretty wife and tightened his nose, "Did you drink?"
"Yes." Luna replied weakly.
Leng Liewei stood up, tossed the book aside, and got into bed, "Wash up and sleep."
Unwilling to give up, Luna stood up and then moved closer again, "Old Leng, we havenât..."
"Iâm not in the mood now." Leng Liewei took off his glasses, "Who did you meet today?"
Seeing Leng Lieweiâs indifferent expression, Luna could only give up and stood up to change clothes, "It was Qi Hui. She looked for me." Then she sneered, "Foolish idiot, wasted a perfectly good opportunity."
Leng Liewei frowned deeply at Luna, "Donât go looking for Bai Yiranâs trouble lately, provoking Leng Yichen does no one any good."
"Understood~" Luna agreed verbally. However, in her heart, she thought, this time she really didnât plan on causing trouble for Bai Yiran.
Shortly after New Yearâs Day, it was the Lunar New Year. This would be Bai Yiranâs first New Year with Leng Yichen since their marriage. She was considering bringing her grandmother and uncleâs family over to celebrate together. For one thing, the place was big enough, and for another, more people meant more festivity.
She shared this idea with Leng Yichen, and he agreed.
Just as Bai Yiran was enthusiastically preparing for the upcoming New Year, news arrived that filled her with extreme frustration.
Leng Liewei used Leng Yichen being the Leng Familyâs only son as a reason to demand that on New Yearâs Eve, Leng Yichen and Bai Yiran must celebrate with them.
Actually, in an ordinary family, Leng Lieweiâs request wouldnât be considered excessive. Leng Yichen, as the only son, and Bai Yiran, as the daughter-in-law, spending New Yearâs at the husbandâs family is a normal tradition.
However, with Leng Liewei and Luna involved, Bai Yiran felt a bit unhappy.
"If you donât want to, we donât have to go," Leng Yichen said softly, holding Bai Yiran. In truth, the New Year didnât mean anything significant to Leng Yichen; it was only about getting a year older. As long as Bai Yiran was there, that was enough for him.
"Let it be, Dadâs request isnât unreasonable. Normally, we should spend it with him." Bai Yiran said, "As long as Luna doesnât cause me trouble, I can endure it."
Bai Yiran didnât understand why Luna had so much hostility towards her, as if she had stolen something from her.
"Donât worry, Iâm here." Leng Yichenâs voice was firm, "Weâll stay until midnight and then spend the first day with grandma and uncle."
"Hmm!" Perhaps this was the only thing that could make Bai Yiran somewhat happy now.
Seeing Bai Yiran looking so aggrieved, Leng Yichen held her small hand, and they drove to the Leng Mansion.
As the couple got out of the car, Sister Wu was already smiling and waiting at the door, saying enthusiastically, "Young masterâs back, please come in."
Bai Yiran observed Sister Wuâs attitude, wondering why she suddenly changed her demeanor. Why was she treating them so nicely?
Leng Yichen, unperturbed, held Bai Yiranâs hand as they entered the house, as if Sister Wu was nothing more than a speck of dust.
Sister Wuâs expression stiffened for a moment and she followed them inside.
"Yichen, Yiran, youâre back!" Luna greeted them with a coquettish smile, "Come and see whoâs celebrating the New Year with us this year?"
Bai Yiran looked toward Luna and was surprised to find that Qi Hui was there.
