Chapter 423: Chapter 416: Strength
Wang Hai knew that Bai Yiran must be present when he heard Leng Yichen say this, so he hung up the phone immediately.
"What happened?" Bai Yiran looked at Leng Yichen and asked.
"Itâs nothing." Leng Yichen smiled and wiped the soup stains off Bai Yiranâs mouth with a napkin.
"Donât lie to me." Bai Yiran glared at him, "Every time youâre upset, you do this!"
Saying so, Bai Yiran imitated knocking on the table with her fingers.
Leng Yichen was stunned, looking at his own hand still placed on the table. He casually raised his hand and pinched Bai Yiranâs face.
"It really seems like you love me a lot, noticing even these little details."
To be honest, Leng Yichen hadnât even realized he had this little habit; it was probably subconscious, so he hadnât noticed at all. But Bai Yiran had noticed it and remembered.
It seems that he has to be careful in front of her in the future. At least, he shouldnât repeat this action, or sheâd get suspicious.
"Nonsense!" Bai Yiran knocked Leng Yichenâs hand away.
"Really, itâs nothing." Leng Yichenâs voice was calm and steady, "Itâs just, I was asking Wang Hai to find a better nutritionist for me, who will be responsible for your daily diet. Itâs just that reliable nutritionists are hard to find, so I was a bit annoyed."
"Why find a nutritionist? Iâm not made of mud, and besides, we have Sister Liu at home, donât we?" Bai Yiran rolled her eyes at Leng Yichen.
"Thatâs different. Youâre two people now." Leng Yichen held Bai Yiranâs hand, "You are now the number one protected person in the house."
Bai Yiran was a bit embarrassed, feeling like a giant panda.
Leng Yichen didnât continue the topic. Fortunately, the waiter soon brought other dishes, successfully changing the subject.
Bai Yiran lowered her head, cutting her steak, her eyes shimmering. She knew something must have happened, and Leng Yichen didnât want her to know. Lately, his behavior had been somewhat strange, and she could feel it.
"Leng Yichen." Bai Yiran lowered her head, cutting the steak, without looking up.
"Hmm? Whatâs wrong?" Leng Yichen asked, seeing her looking down.
"Promise me, if anything happens, you must tell me, donât bear it alone." Bai Yiran put down her knife and fork and raised her head, her eyes shimmering as she looked at her man, "Iâm stronger than you think."
Leng Yichen was stunned; his gaze at Bai Yiran became somewhat complicated, but he eventually smiled, "Alright, I got it."
The meal ended with Bai Yiran constantly vomiting. She thought drinking two bowls of soup would allow her to eat other things. But as soon as the steak was put into her mouth, without even chewing it a few times, a wave of nausea overwhelmed her, making her extremely uncomfortable.
Leng Yichen saw it all, feeling excruciating pain in his heart. Immediately he called the previous doctor, asking if there was an effective way to stop morning sickness.
The doctorâs reply was that morning sickness is a normal occurrence, varying with each pregnant woman, with different durations. No particularly good advice was given; the best method was to endure it.
Leng Yichen sent Bai Yiran home, and not long after, she fell asleep. It seemed that every time she vomited, it drained her energy, with a response far more intense than her first pregnancy. Leng Yichen gently kissed Bai Yiranâs sleeping face and instructed Sister Liu to take good care of her before leaving.
In the car, Leng Yichen dialed Wang Haiâs number once more, "Wang Hai, I want to meet Gao Sheng."
