The Grand Wealth Lordās vigilance didnāt go unnoticed under Aceās perception. In fact, he even suspected the Grand Wealth Lord would react like this because of the formerās seemingly cautious and cunning nature.
The Grand Wealth Lordās spirit Qi fluctuated ever so slightly as he coldly said, "Enough of your nonsense. Be obedient and follow me back to confess your sins!"
Ace narrowed his eyes as he calmly stated, "What sins? Sect Master, I think you have misunderstood the situation. Although I admit I was hiding my real power, I was doing it under the order of the Matriarch."
The Grand Wealth Lord was startled when he heard that unexpected revelation, and he couldnāt find any trace of deceit from Aceās words, nor did Aceās expression change.
The Grand Wealth Lord was extremely confident in his observation abilities, not to mention the party in question was still just an Ascension Master. Thatās why he didnāt think Ace could lie so easily under his presence, and now that Ace suddenly pulled his shield āProsperity Matriarchā, the Grand Wealth Lord was in a dilemma and hesitated.
āWas it really her instruction?ā
He thought with a hint of uncertainty,
āHeās too strange and just a moment ago, even I couldnāt tell he was an Ascension Master. Not to mention that strange ability he used to escape that hateful bastard isnāt in our scripture hall. Donāt tell me mother is still hiding things from me just like the time she hid this bratās existence from me and only told me when the other bastard showed up, and she needed my help...ā
The Grand Wealth Lordās expression was filled with indignation and a hint of fury as he started to believe Aceās words.
Ace was also secretly surprised when he noticed the Grand Wealth Lordās change in expression, and he wanted to snicker in disdain.
āHeh, so much for trust between mother and son. Itās pretty clear the Prosperity Matriarch doesnāt trust even her own son, and sheās too greedy to share benefits with others before devouring the best for herself.
āI did right to use her name to deter this Sect Master, who has been living under the shadow of his mother, and despite being the Sect Master, he clearly has little authority. Furthermore, he had no way to conform as long as the Prosperity Matriarch continued to hide, and knowing her personality, she wouldnāt trust anyone by revealing her vulnerable state.
āFooling him wonāt be a problem. Now it all depends on how much he fears his mother...and I might be able to use it to my advantage...ā
A peculiar glint flashed past his eyes before he wore an expression of disbelief, "It seemed the Lord Sect Master wasnāt aware of Her Highnessā orders."
The Grand Wealth Lord was further irritated as he glared at Ace coldly, "Are you trying to provoke me?!"
Ace quickly shook his head as he humbly spoke, "I wonāt dare even if I have a hundred guts. In fact, now that Lord Sect Master has appeared here, and you told me your identity, I should probably tell you b-but..." He appeared hesitant, as if he was making a tough decision.
The Grand Wealth Lord was instantly altered, seeing Aceās behavior as he increased his spiritual pressure on Ace. Now that he knew Ace was āworkingā for Prosperity Matriarch, he no longer feared Aceās retaliation.
Furthermore, Ace was also a Heaven Chosen, and his strange abilities didnāt come as a surprise after witnessing Damienās battle with the Prosperity Matriarch. In fact, he thought that Ace was keeping a low profile under the Prosperity Matriarchās command, and it also made sense since this meant the others wonāt take notice of him. He can perform her tasks without encountering any difficulty.
"Tell me. Iām the Sect Master of the PHW King Sect! You donāt need to keep any secrets from me, and since my mother has gone into hiding, Iāll be making decisions in her absence!" The Grand Wealth Lord confidently stated with a hint of hidden elation when he mentioned that his mother had gone into hiding.
Even he knew that the Prosperity Matriarch was in her weakest state right now, and she wonāt even tell him, her son, where she was at this moment. She was that selfish!
Ace knew the fish had taken the bait, and after showing a hint of hesitation, he gritted his teeth and said, "Before I received the order from Her Highness to escape, she told me where she was going to hide and instructed me to find her as soon as possible. Thatās why I dare to reveal my true cultivation and was about to look for Prosperity Elder Maxwell to take me there, since I donāt know how to get there."
The Grand Wealth Lordās eyes widened in astonishment as he couldnāt believe his mother would give Ace such instruction and even reveal her current location.
Despite his suspicions, he didnāt think Ace had any reason to lie to him. Not to mention, Ace was the Prosperity Matriarchās slave, which also meant he couldnāt go against her. So, if she had really told him her location and come there, he was most likely telling the truth.
A peculiar light shone in the Grand Wealth Lordās eyes as his expression took a completely different turn as he said solemnly, "If that is the case, then we should hurry there! Iāll take you there personally since Iām also worried about her safety!"
Ace wanted to scoff, but his expression didnāt change as if he didnāt guess what the Grand Wealth Lord was most likely planning.
"Since Lord Sect Master is closest to Her Highness, then I think you should go and find her, since Iām not in a good state after what happened. Iāll tell you where she was going, and I hope you can help me explain this to her." Ace stated bitterly as his expression went pale, as if really exhausted, and before pretending to be fine.
The Grand Wealth Lordās eyes shone like twinkling stars and almost laughed in mirth after hearing Aceās āsuggestionā.
He showed a gentle expression as he nodded kindly like an elder, "Donāt worry, she wonāt blame you, Iāll explain it to her. Just tell me where she is and leave everything else to me."
Ace nodded with a grateful expression as he replied, "Before she escaped, she told me to find her in the southwest of the Limitless Sky Peaks. She told me she would be on the tallest peak in that region, and her hidden cultivation mansion is there. Once I get close to it, Iāll be easily able to find her location."
"Southwest of the Limitless Sky Peaks?" The Grand Wealth Lord frowned slightly as he knew how massive the Limitless Sky Peaks were, but he didnāt suspect anything since that place was a good place to hide.
Furthermore, knowing the Prosperity Matriarch, sheāll naturally have many such places, and as the ruler of the Great Prosperity Domain, she knew this place more than anyone else.
The Grand Wealth Lord was no different, as he also knew many remote and dangerous places within the Great Prosperity Domain. If he wanted to hide, he would also choose such regions and wouldnāt stay in the sect, especially since he wouldnāt trust others and had many enemies.
After giving Ace a deep glance as he nodded, "Alright, you can go back and recuperate. But donāt tell anyone else what you told me or..." Dense killing intent shone in the Grand Wealth Lordās eyes as he threatened him.
Ace promised without hesitation, "I wonāt dare!"
After giving Ace a final warning glare, the Grand Wealth Lord turned into a golden streak and vanished into the sky. However, because of his excitement and being distracted by Ace, he failed to notice the missing space ring on his finger!
Thereby, at this moment, darkness crept onto the face of the Grand Wealth Lord!
