Chapter 445: Why Do I Feel Like He Is Showing Off!
âBlack Demon Star?â
LĂŒ Dongbin inhaled sharply and exclaimed in shock, âI heard Brother Taixu mention that you had gone off to outer space alone to attack the legion of the Hundred Races Alliance⊠we didnât expected that you had really gone there.â
Studying Jiang He thoroughly several times uncertainly, he said, âIt seems that you had not encountered the Allianceâs champions⊠no, waitâI heard that their legion had gathered on the Black Demon Star, or was I misinformed? Eh?â
Halfway through his sentence, LĂŒ Dongbinâs expression changed and he could not help exclaiming, âWait⊠Brother Jiang He, you just said that the Alliance was routed⊠could you mean to say that you had inflicted some damage on them when you ambushed them?â
Ambushing?
That did not really count as one, did it?
Though he was planning on an ambush and starting some trouble, he had been spotted. So as to avoid startling the whole herd ahead of time, he had to attack directly⊠still, it was correct that he did inflicted devastating damage to the legion.
As such, Jiang He nodded.
Gasp!
LĂŒ Dongbin inhaled sharply once more.
The other immortals present were all gaping as well.
The True Habitant of Taixu had mentioned that Jiang He had gone to outer space to ambush the alliance.
HoweverâŠ
First impressions took priority on such matters.
After all, how was a person attacking the Hundred Races Alliance alone different from suicide?
Even if they had seen Jiang He return safely, the immortals presumed that Jiang He had returned without success. They could never have imagined that Jiang He actually attacked the Alliance after heading to Black Demon Star, inflicting devastating losesâstill, leaving aside ability, the guts alone was worthy of solemn respect.
The immortals hence smiled.
However, LĂŒ Dongbin appeared somber and said, âAfter a loss like this one, the Alliance would probably not let this go and would attack once more, even more viciously at that.â
He appeared thoughtful before continuing, âThey gathered on the Black Demon Star, perhaps intent on building a portal from there to ease the advance of their legion⊠the portal has to therefore be built on a planet near our homeworld⊠Brother Jiang He, is your friend who controls the Star Map around?â
âIf he would help us monitor the stars nearby, we shall attack once we spot any Alliance elements. That way, we could stop them from building their portal and delay their advance.â
In LĂŒ Dongbinâs perspective, wars like these would be long and drawn out, but normal even if it dragged on for decades and centuries.
Jiang He, however, raised an eyebrow.
Staring seriously at LĂŒ Dongbin, he said uncertainly, âElder LĂŒ, like Iâve saidâIâve been to the Black Demon Star and I blew it up. How are we supposed to return?â
âAs for Minister Wang⊠he was spiritually worn because he had invoked the Star Map by force before and is still recuperating at the moment, and there was no telling if he is alright now.â
LĂŒ Dongbin, however, did not hear the last part. Staring straight at Jiang He, he muttered, âYou blew up the Black Demon Star?â
âYes.â
Jiang He remembered how difficult it was for him to do so upon the mentioning of that matter. âThe Allianceâs legion was gathered on the planet and they had over 130 Golden Immortalsâthey really were a tough nut to crack.â
âMy initial plan was to slip inside the Black Demon Star to hunt down and ambush the Golden Immortals, taking them out one by one⊠but I did not expect that this elite named the White Sky God King to have such sharp senses, and he noticed me soon after I arrived outside the Black Demon Star.â
Remembering the details before, Jiang He hesitantly said, âOf course, it turns out that he didnât actually notice me, but I had to take action to avoid alerting the whole legion.
Jiang He became emotional once he remembered the White Sky God King and Modolo, sighing. âThat White Sky God King of the God race and Modolo of the Demon race were truly prodigies. In fact, I was at a disadvantage when I went one-on-one against the White Sky God King, and I had to ascend due to the direness of the situation.â
All of Taixu Sect became silent at that.
Jiang He did not seem to notice the look on the othersâ faces⊠in fact, he could not be bothered.
Still, he appeared to be still afraid of the battle that day and looked as if he barely escaped with his life, adding, âTo tell the truth, I was actually a little rash that day and thought that mere Golden Immortals were chickenfeed even if there were a thousand of them, and to be killed on a whim. I did not expect that there were still real prodigies among the many other worldsâas an example, not only were both the White Sky God King and Modolo overwhelming powerful, but they also had many treasures and defensive tactics. I could even sense that there was aid placed in their bodies by certain superior beings that protected their spirits, preventing me from killing them immediately. In fact, I could trigger those aid and get myself killed in return.â
âSigh!â
Breathing a long sigh, Jiang He added seriously, âItâs fortunate that the Alliance underestimated Earth and had only sent two Golden Immortals of the White Sky God King and Modoloâs caliber. If there were twenty or thirty more such champions, along with one or two hundred Golden Immortals who would build up arrays, I would most likely âŠâ
Jiang He was about to say he would end up dead, but after thinking about it, he realized that he could run even if he could not win!
He had tested his teleport technique anyway, and that normal dimensional seals would not stop him, and so changed his wording. âI would most likely fail to walk away unharmed.â
As usual, all of Taixu Sect was silent.
LĂŒ Dongbin opened his mouth at that. He felt that his throat was rather dry and hence spoke hoarsely with some difficulty, âBrother Jiang He⊠where is the legion of the Hundred Races Alliance after you blew up the Black Demon Star?
âI killed them, of course.â
There was a feeble smile showing on Jiang Heâs face then. âItâs a shame that the I canât kill the White Sky God King and Modolo immediately, allowing them to escape with the immortals of their own race and deserting a hundred or so Golden Immortals from lesser races. I killed around eighty or ninety of them, allowing twenty or thirty of them to escape with some True Immortals and Heavenly Immortals⊠but overall speaking, the outcome was favorable.â
Hanging his head, Jiang He then spat out the numbers. âI had probably killed up to ninety Golden Immortals, eight hundred True Immortals, and eight thousand Heavenly Immortals. I did not count the Sufferance, Mahayana or Convergence-tier legionnaires since they are not going to survive the explosion of the Black Demon Star anyway, so letâs just round them up around forty to fifty million.â
The scene around him remained silent.
âWhat the f*ck!â
One of the Golden Immortals cursed, and the silent Taixu Sect soon erupted in an uproar.
âIs that true?â
âBrother Jiang He had repelled the legion of the Alliance?â
âImpossible! He is a Golden Immortal and not Grand Luo, and that would not have been a simple feat for a Grand Luo eitherâŠâ
The Golden Immortals all erupted in a chaotic mess of debating voices.
Of course, there were ill-timed voices, with a Golden Immortal whispering, âWhy do I feel that he is showing off on purposeâŠâ
It took a long time for the voices to die down.
That left Jiang He a little surprised, and he asked uncertainly, âElder LĂŒ, fellow brothers⊠none of you knew? As for the return of the Alliance⊠what was that all about?â
