Chapter 299: It Has to Be Fake!

Under everyone’s gaze, Cassian walked right up to Aiden.

He stopped so close that his body was less than ten centimeters from Aiden’s.

This incredibly aggressive move instantly froze the atmosphere.

As the only one from a Divine Powerhouse present, Selene couldn’t help but furrow her brows at the sight.

As long as Cassian didn’t do anything too extreme, she couldn’t say much.

Graham, standing beside Selene, just narrowed his eyes slightly. A smirk curled at the corner of his mouth as he watched Aiden with keen interest.

"What a rotten guy," Graham whispered. "He actually ticked off Cassian."

Selene silently turned her head to look at him and replied coolly,

"You’re wrong. This time, it’s Cassian who has meddled with the wrong person."

Aiden was just a Level 50 Reclasser, yet he had managed to sense the existence of the Dark Force of Laws.

If word got out, Aiden would surely become a genius with immense potential in the eyes of other Divine Powerhouses, possibly sparking a scramble to claim him.

True, Cassian was a student of The Flame God Ignis. But so far, let alone sensing the Force of Laws, his soul strength might not even be higher than Aiden’s.

The only thing Cassian had going for him was his level.

Aiden, however, was different. A genius like him wasn’t rare; he was basically a miracle that had never happened before!

That was exactly why Teacher Bella valued Aiden so much.

"Oh? Lord Selene values Aiden this highly? He must have some extraordinary qualities," Graham said with a smirk.

"But don’t you worry that Cassian might target Aiden on the way to the Golden Great Wall?" Graham whispered.

Selene didn’t answer directly. Instead, she said calmly, "It’s not me who values him. It’s my teacher."

As soon as she finished, Graham’s pupils shrank slightly. He locked his gaze back onto Aiden.

Right then, Aiden stared into Cassian’s eyes with a blank expression and asked quietly,

"What’s wrong? Getting this close just to let me smell your skunk stench?"

Cassian’s face instantly turned green with rage.

He stepped back several paces, clenching his fists and instinctively twitching his nose to smell the air.

"Rude brat, I’ll give you one last chance. Give me the fragment of the secret treasure map you’re holding, and I’ll hand over ten sets of Legendary Rank materials," Cassian growled, taking a deep breath to control his fury.

After this morning’s incident, Cassian had thought it over. Since Aiden was human, he decided to give him one final chance.

Even among these geniuses, entering the Golden Great Wall early without adaptation wasn’t easy.

There was a safer way to enter, but using it would cause these geniuses to miss out on vital growth opportunities.

Cassian just needed to play a little trick. He could target Aiden relentlessly during the process and force Aiden to beg for mercy.

Of course, if Aiden agreed to the trade right away, it would save a lot of trouble.

Under Cassian’s glare, Aiden let out a scornful laugh.

He turned to Victor and asked, "Ten sets of Legendary Rank materials? Do you think that’s too much?"

Victor’s expression returned to normal. He simply picked at his fingernail and replied casually,

"Captain, the Legendary Rank materials you gave us earlier already exceed ten sets."

"If it were me, I’d think that’s a huge amount. But for you, Captain, it’s nothing!"

Hearing this, the other genius students around them immediately started whispering.

"Man, humans really are so different. If ten sets of Legendary Rank materials were mine, I’d even give up a year of my life!"

"A year? Do you know how precious time is to us? I’d give up a year and a half just to trade for those ten sets!"

"Cut it out. Those Legendary Rank materials aren’t for you guys; they’re for Aiden."

"Yeah, of course. That amount is definitely not enough for Aiden."

"But hey, that fragment of the secret treasure map isn’t exactly all that useful either. Trading it for ten sets of Legendary Rank materials is still pretty good."

"Aiden doesn’t even need Legendary Rank materials. Maybe he can collect more fragments later on?"

"Still, as a student of a Divine Powerhouse, how is Cassian offering such a paltry deal? Can’t he even come up with Mythic Rank materials?"

"Oh my god, are you guys overestimating him? I’ve never even seen Mythic Rank materials in my life!"

Amidst the murmurs of the genius students, Cassian’s face grew increasingly dark.

His breathing became quick and ragged. He swallowed hard and suddenly shouted, "Shut up!"

Unable to hold back any longer, Cassian whirled around to face the chattering geniuses and barked,

"Shut your mouths all of you!"

The whispers died instantly.

However, most of the students were now frowning, glaring at Cassian with clear annoyance.

"Stop your snide remarks. Don’t think I don’t know you’re trying to provoke me!"

"These Legendary Rank materials are so precious. I’m offering ten sets! Is that not enough?" Cassian retorted.

He simply couldn’t believe that Aiden could actually produce that many Legendary Rank materials all at once.

Seeing this, Nellie couldn’t help but speak up in rebuttal:

"Ten sets of Legendary Rank materials might be enough for you, but in front of the Captain, it’s nothing."

"No one is trying to provoke you intentionally. It was you who started trolling the Captain the moment you showed up."

After Nellie said that, many of the genius students around them nodded in agreement.

No one likes a stranger from the start who acts so arrogantly; it feels insulting.

Cassian, as a student of a Divine Powerhouse, should know basic social etiquette. By acting this way, he clearly wasn’t respecting Aiden at all.

To these geniuses, Aiden, as the champion of the Global Reclasser Exchange Tournament and a talent they had personally acknowledged, represented them in a way.

Besides, Aiden earned their respect based on the incredible strength they had all witnessed with their own eyes!

And Cassian? To them, he was just a complete stranger.

If they had to choose between Aiden and Cassian, picking Aiden would be the most natural thing to do.

"Boasting as much as you want, keep it up!" Cassian immediately pulled out ten sets of Legendary Rank materials and looked at Aiden.

He continued, "It’s a great deal. A fragment of a secret treasure map that’s worthless to you, exchanged for ten sets of Legendary Rank materials. You even refused me twice!"

Aiden curled his lip in disgust and replied,

"That’s my stuff. I don’t want to trade. Is there a problem with that?"

"Besides, only ten sets of Legendary Rank materials? Honestly, it’s not even interesting."

Aiden yawned out of boredom and gave a light wave with his right hand, opening his storage space.

Clatter-clatter!

A massive amount of Legendary Rank materials instantly poured out onto the ground, piling up into a small mountain over two meters high.

Suddenly, all the genius students in the crowd fixed their eyes on the pile.

Sounds of people swallowing their saliva rose up one after another.

Even Cassian blinked rapidly, unable to help but feel like he was hallucinating.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Aiden simply called out softly, "Faye."

Instantly, Faye appeared before him, her big golden eyes blinking.

Then, Aiden casually reached into his storage and pulled out two sets of Mythic Rank materials, tossing them right to Faye.

"I have zero interest in your so-called trade," he said.

"Maybe a while ago, Legendary Rank materials would have been enough for Faye to eat. But not anymore. She doesn’t want to eat Legendary Rank materials now."

Seeing this, Cassian rubbed his eyes instinctively, his mouth hanging open in disbelief.

The other genius students fell silent.

Even Selene, a Divine Powerhouse, couldn’t help herself; she extended her red tongue and licked her lips.

"Lies! It has to be fake! Don’t try to trick me with fake materials!"

Cassian absolutely refused to believe that a Reclasser from the Great Shaw Empire would be so wasteful as to feed Mythic Rank materials to a pet.

Even his own master, The Flame God Ignis, wouldn’t do that!

So, the material Aiden had just fed to his pet must have been fake. It couldn’t possibly be real Mythic Rank materials!

"Ignorance is common. If you don’t believe me, just leave it at that. I’m too busy to waste more time explaining to you," Aiden said, shifting his gaze away from Cassian and looking straight at Selene.

Aiden’s gaze shifted away from Cassian and landed on Selene.

Selene was a bit surprised, assuming Aiden wanted her to verify it.

So she turned to Cassian and said, "The two sets of materials Aiden just fed to his pet are indeed real Mythic Rank. They aren’t fake."

Then, she looked back at Aiden and added, "But... isn’t that a bit too wasteful?"

"What a shame to throw away those two sets of Mythic Rank materials."

Wasteful?

Aiden shook his head.

Faye wasn’t just a simple pet to him.

Besides, he had so many sets of Mythic Rank materials that he wasn’t using them up at all. It wasn’t a waste.

"It’s not a waste at all! If Faye eats her fill, she’ll get stronger and be able to help her master better in the future," Faye said quickly, blinking her big eyes.

She fluttered her wings and flew up to land on Aiden’s shoulder.

"Besides, Faye only ate two sets of Mythic Rank materials today. That’s not even as much as she ate yesterday!"

Instantly, the genius students around them turned their heads to look at each other, their faces filled with utter shock and disbelief.
