Chapter 1843: Simply Capricious?

Chapter 1843: Chapter 1843: Simply Capricious?

Xue Ganggang took Bai Xing with him and continued to stroll through the streets, while Jiang Yue and Xue Yan headed back to Locust Village.

As they rode out of town, Xue Yan couldn’t help but exclaim, “The children have really grown up, one by one, they’re all getting married.”

Their Xue Bai had already married, and now it was their Xue Shoushou and Xue Dangdang’s turn.

Emperor Hao was his own younger brother, and Xue Dangdang was his niece. Although one bore the surname Xuanyuan and the other Xue, with no blood relation between them, their kinship was somewhat distant due to his influence. But this was not a problem at all; he was actually very happy to see the two of them together.

Jiang Yue said, “Dangdang is not the type to rush into marriage. For the time being, she probably won’t marry. Besides, they are already living under the same roof; there’s really no need to rush.”

Xue Yan nodded in agreement, then laughed, “To tell you the truth, I’m quite surprised. Dangdang, who is not in a hurry to do anything, probably didn’t initiate this. You also know my brother’s personality—he’s lazier than imaginable. Normally, if not for the hunger that would starve him, he wouldn’t even bother eating, yet he actually took the initiative to say he wanted them to be together.”

Jiang Yue nodded, “It’s a bit unexpected. This also shows that Dangdang actually likes him too; otherwise, even if he took the initiative, Dangdang wouldn’t have agreed.”

When they arrived home, Jiang Yue and Xue Yan told the family about Xue Dangdang and Emperor Hao being together, and everyone was very happy.

In the evening, when Xue Dangdang and Emperor Hao returned, they personally informed the family about their relationship. They had also planned to speak about it soon anyway.

Duke Shao, Liu Guixia, Yu Hongyan, and others, upon seeing their return, asked when they planned to get married.

Xue Dangdang laughed, “We’re all in one family; what’s the rush? Let’s talk about it later. Right now, we have something else to discuss with you all.”

“What is it?” Duke Shao and the others eagerly asked.

Xue Dangdang and Emperor Hao then talked about their idea of traveling to various countries to experience the local customs and culture.

Jiang Yue and Xue Yan were not surprised at all and felt that this was very much in line with the personality of the two in front of them.

Dafu and the others discussed it briefly. If it were one person setting out alone, they might have been worried, but two people traveling together would have each other’s company, which eased their concerns. Besides, going out to gain experience was beneficial, so they had no objections. They only asked, “So when will you leave?”

Emperor Hao, unusually upright in his seat, said, “We were planning to leave in half a month, but now that you all know, we’ll leave tomorrow.”

Talk about impulsive, it was sheer caprice.

But Xue Dangdang quite liked this style. Her face was all smiles, clearly very satisfied.

Seeing this, her father—Xue Erfu, nearly rolled his eyes to the sky: “Alright, what pot fits with what lid, just do as you please as long as you’re happy.”

Although it was his own daughter setting off on a long journey and he had no idea when she would return, he was quite at ease.

If it were his eldest daughter Ganggang leaving, perhaps he would have been uneasy.

But this was his youngest daughter Dangdang, wasn’t it? Dangdang was only good at outsmarting others; who could get the better of her? She was always the one to bully others, never the other way around.

Moreover, she would be with someone as lazy as anyone could be—Emperor Hao, who also only ever outsmarted others.

He hadn’t realized before, but now looking at it, his daughter Ganggang and Hao were truly a perfect match.

Although the next day was bitingly cold, Xue Dangdang and Emperor Hao really did set off as they’d said they would. Without even having the chance to say goodbye to Xue Shi and the others, they went off to travel to various countries.
