Chapter 1936: Extra: A Brand New Life 51 (Jiang Yue and Xue Yan) Chapter 1936: Extra: A Brand New Life 51 (Jiang Yue and Xue Yan) “Sigh,” Zhou Ping let out a sigh. He took another glance at the boy before saying, “If his social anxiety doesn’t improve, what’s the use of studying Business Management? His uncle isn’t educated, and his parents aren’t much educated either. They don’t understand these things. I feel that his uncle pushing him into Business Management is just hurting him. If he chose a major based on his interests, isn’t it said that interest is the best teacher? It seems like he’d be suited for that, and anyway, I definitely think it would be more promising than studying Business Management.”

During this time, Jiang Yue and Xue Yan had been quietly listening, without uttering a word, until Zhou Ping finished speaking, at which point Jiang Yue and Xue Yan exchanged a glance.

Then, Xue Yan asked, “So, what does he think about it now?”

Zhou Ping: “I’ve also asked him. He hasn’t thought much about it, just wants to start working as soon as possible. It feels like a shame to waste a science top scorer like that. To be a top scorer, his brain must be really good.”

Xue Yan said, “Isn’t he eager to work early to earn money? If he could earn money during his studies, I bet his family wouldn’t object to him studying the major he likes.”

“But with him like this, how could he earn money while studying?” Zhou Ping didn’t understand.

Jiang Yue: “Let him change his major to participate in that research project Professor Zheng has. The project that Professor Zheng is leading provides salaries to its members.”

Immediately, she turned her head to look at Xue Yan: “We should go and ask Professor Zheng. Professor Zheng has always valued talent, and I seem to remember him mentioning the science top scorer from D province, looking rather regretful. The Medical University’s admissions office also went to recruit the science top scorer from D province, but because studying medicine requires at least five years, he was rejected. At that time, I didn’t pay much attention. But changing majors isn’t the same as transferring to Medical University, so S University would probably agree.”

Xue Yan nodded in agreement.

Zhou Ping became excited: “Is it that Professor Zheng from Medical University?! The research project that was applied for by the collaboration of the two universities that even provides salaries to undergraduate members?!”

This was a big project indeed!

In Zhou Ping’s memory, members under Professor Zheng were almost all graduate and doctoral students, with hardly any undergraduates—not because Professor Zheng didn’t want them, but because they didn’t meet his requirements.

It wasn’t until the new freshmen enrolled this year that Professor Zheng was extremely satisfied with the talent of Jiang Yue and Xue Yan, and he personally invited them to join this project team.

Therefore, Jiang Yue and Xue Yan also received salaries.

The salary wasn’t fixed, but rather, it depended on admiration, contribution, and effort put into the work. The more someone contributed to and worked for the results, the more they were paid, something akin to commission and bonuses.

Of course, there was a base salary; over two thousand, which was quite attractive.

“Yeah,” Xue Yan nodded again and then asked, “What’s his name?” After all this talking, he and his Yue Bao still didn’t know the name of the science top scorer from D city.

“That’s great!” Zhou Ping was happy for his classmate, and at the same time, he answered, “Song Yun. His name is Song Yun.”

Jiang Yue: “Later on, find some time to ask him privately if he’s willing to switch. Xue Yan and I will talk to Professor Zheng. As long as he’s willing, I’m sure once Professor Zheng says the word to S University, they will allow him to switch majors, to my class. This is aside from military training; the semester has only just begun, and with his intelligence, it’s still very feasible to make the change now.”

“Alright. Okay.” Zhou Ping naturally agreed, delightedly.

As soon as the words were spoken, just in time, the 400-meter relay race was about to start, and Zhou Ping quickly went to his relay position to stand ready.
