Chapter 1969: Extra: A Brand New Life 84 (Jiang Yue and Xue Yan) Chapter 1969: Extra: A Brand New Life 84 (Jiang Yue and Xue Yan) Zhou Ping laughed heartily, âAlright, so am I.â His three friends were just too damn awesome!

Xue Corporation had grown significantly under Mr. Xueâs leadership, and his ambition had grown even larger. He was no longer satisfied with the industries under the corporationâs portfolio and began to venture into the entertainment sector. It started with the acquisition of a film and television company, a move that signaled Xue Corporationâs entry into the entertainment industry.
Having acquired a film and television company, it was natural to invest in making films or TV dramas.
Whether it was films or TV dramas, the company had several good scripts in hand; Mr. Xue, thinking of Qin Ziâs explosive acting skills, told the CEO of the newly acquired film and television company to cast her as the female protagonist.
Normally, Mr. Xue didnât pay much attention to this aspect, but since Jiang Yue and her friends were close to Qin Zi, who often visited their home, Mr. Xue naturally came to know her and knew she was a talented actress, who had been confined to taking only minor roles. Qin Zi also had a translation job, treating acting more like a hobby, which Mr. Xue had never interfered with before.
Moreover, he had heard from his son and daughter-in-law that Qin Zi was a very assertive person who didnât like others meddling in her affairs, so he had not only refrained from interfering, but also never inquired about it.
But now things were different. With Xue Corporation moving into the entertainment industry and Qin Zi being a brilliant actress, she was fully capable of playing leading roles.
To say that he was controlling or inquiring into Qin Ziâs affairs would be misleading; it was more like he was just doing business.
Since they had already stepped into this field, he naturally would do it well, enabling Xue Corporation to carve out a share in this domain. So, it wasnât really for Qin Ziâs sake, and he believed that Qin Zi wouldnât mind and would agree.
Mr. Xue had already passed the order to the CEO in charge of the acquired film and television company, and the CEO had agreed, but before contacting Qin Zi, he discovered something and hurriedly called Mr. Xue.
CEO: âPresident, I just heard from several senior executives of the original film and television company that the Yu Corporation has been blacklisting Miss Qin. Are you sure we still want to cast Miss Qin as the female lead?â
In other words, if they still went ahead with that decision, it would be tantamount to defying the Yu Corporation, virtually ignoring their influence.
Mr. Xue snorted, âWhen has the Xue Family ever been afraid of the Yu Clan? We not only refused their collaboration before, but their President Yu is also indebted to my son for saving his life. Go ahead with the casting as I ordered. But why would the Yu Corporation want to blacklist Qin Zi?â
CEO: âIâm not sure about that.â
After hanging up, the CEO then had someone contact Qin Zi.
When Qin Zi was approached and heard that she was being offered the role of the female lead by the Xue-owned film and television company, she wasnât opposed to it, but she didnât agree.
She refused without even thinking it over.
She didnât want herself to have a good life.
If she hadnât met Si Yan, hadnât started dating Si Yan, none of this would have happened, and Si Yan wouldnât be living so miserably.
If Si Yan didnât want himself to have a good life, then naturally, she didnât want one for herself either.
Being famous or having lots of fans, she had never thought about that. If that were the case, she would have been living too well; what right did she have to live so well?
Being able to take minor roles and fulfill her dream of being an actress, seeing it as a hobby, was, in her view, already luxurious enough and was her living well.
Sometimes she even thought about not taking any roles at all; that way, she would truly be living miserably.
But if she did that, she reckoned she would want to live even less.
