"Are you going to do it yourself?"
Engle, snapping back to reality, screamed in panic, his voice filled with alarm.
He widened his eyes and hurriedly stepped forward,
"My esteemed Lord Baron, you must be cautious!"
"This warhorse has kicked over three horse trainers, two of whom have fractures!"
Luo De turned his head, glanced at Engle, and his mouth slightly curved upwards.
Seeing his persuasion was ineffective, Engle bit his lip and stepped forward again to plead: "My lord, if you fall, it wonāt be a trivial matter!"
"Your Frost Leaf Town still needs your guidance. Hurting yourself isnāt worth it!"
Engle was persuading Luo De not out of kindness, but out of a self-protective instinct.
The fiery horse was brought by him. If Luo De were injured while taming this beast, the people of Frost Leaf Town would surely blame him.
If an arm or leg were broken, Engle felt he wouldnāt be able to leave alive.
Facing Engleās persuasion, Luo De just responded with a faint "Hmm."
Luo De turned to look at Lawrence,
"Lawrence, go get the feed."
"Yes, sir!" Lawrence immediately responded, turned around, and ran into the tavern.
Engle stood there confused, looking at Lawrence, then at Luo De, not daring to ask more.
Soon, Lawrence came back holding a wooden basin filled with specially prepared refined feed.
The crushed cooked rye emitted a grainy fragrance, with shredded hay fibers plainly visible, speckled with a few beans.
Lawrence looked at the feed in the basin with a bit of reluctance.
In many places, removing the hay from this basin of grain would be enough to feed refugees.
But Luo De was not being extravagant.
An excellent warhorse does need to consume some of this feed.
To maintain the warhorseās combat effectiveness, more refined feed than that for ordinary farm horses must be provided.
This specially made refined feed is high in energy and nutrition and easy to digest, able to replenish the energy needed for the warhorseās high-intensity training and combat.
But because of this, not everyone can afford to raise an excellent warhorse.
Lawrence handed the wooden basin to Luo De and quietly said, "Sir, is this enough for one meal?"
"I donāt know."
Luo De nonchalantly took the wooden basin with one hand and slowly walked up to the warhorse.
The warhorse was overawed by his aura, its purple pupils slightly contracted, and it took a step back.
Its power was astonishing, even making the cart it was tied to creak, the wheels leaving a shallow mark on the ground.
Frightened, the coachman hurriedly pulled the cart, halting the carriageās retreat.
"Donāt be afraid."
Luo Deās voice was gentle, using the same tone as he would with Fernie,
"You are mine now. As long as you behave, no one will harm you."
Saying this, Luo De slowly placed the wooden basin on the ground and then stepped back.
"Eat, I wonāt harm you."
"You are the strongest warhorse. After finally obtaining you, how would I let anything happen to you?"
As Luo De finished his words, before the warhorse could react, Engle released a sigh of relief.
It turned out to be just feeding the horse.
Engleās face broke into a smile, "My esteemed Lord Baron, this warhorse is very wary. Itās impossible it will eat just because you feed it."
"But you donāt need to worry. The coachman who takes care of it can stay here for a week until it gets accustomed to the environment here."
Saying this, Engle motioned towards the coachman nearby to introduce: "He is..."
Before Engle could finish, the warhorseās ears slightly twitched, it lowered its head and sniffed the feed in the basin vigorously.
The heavy breathing immediately stirred up a small cloud of dust.
It raised its head, looking at Luo De as if confirming something.
Then it cautiously took a lick of the rye, its tongue curling up a few grains, slowly chewing.
Yet its gaze remained vigilant, sneaking a glance at Luo De.
After finding Luo De not approaching, its tongue began to move quickly, gulping down large bites of the refined feed.
The crispness of the rye and the rustling of the hay intertwined instantly.
The warhorse ate heartily, its tail lightly swaying, seemingly in a pleasant mood.
"How... how is this possible? Itās actually eating!"
Engleās mouth slightly opened, unable to resist asking, "How did this happen?"
"Take your time eating, thereās more." Luo De stood up, patted the dust off his hands, and a faint smile appeared on his face.
"Maybe itās because the grain in Frost Leaf Town tastes better than in your place."
Luo Deās tone was calm, yet carried a hint of mockery.
No matter how fierce its nature, the warhorse was ultimately tamed, and with the breeding lordās enhanced affinity, it wouldnāt be hostile to him.
And now that the warhorse had eaten his feed, it naturally became his horse.
Engle awkwardly chuckled in response, "You might be right. Maybe the feed you prepared suits its taste better."
But in reality, Engle didnāt believe it at all.
Even if it were delicacies, the warhorseās stubborn nature wouldnāt give face.
The warhorse continued to eat the feed, the grains in the wooden basin rapidly decreasing.
Its purple eyes clearly saw Luo De approaching, yet it still didnāt raise its head, quietly eating the feed.
"Take your time, thereās plenty."
Luo De reached out to caress the warhorseās mane, "Shall I give you a name?"
"How about Black Mane?"
"Pfft!"
The warhorse snorted hot air, and grass scraps flew from the basin.
Clearly expressing its discontent.
Luo De chuckled, "Just kidding, letās call you Night Fury."
"Reaper in the night, sounds more fierce."
Saying this, Luo De petted the warhorseās mane again.
This time it didnāt react, just quietly ate the feed in the basin.
"Alright, Night Fury is your name now."
