The stunningly beautiful Eldest Miss Su reached out and violently tore at the sleeve of her left arm...
RRRIP!
The sleeve of her extremely expensive long dress was ripped right off, revealing an arm as fair as jade beneath it...
Su Qianqian gritted her teeth and cursed inwardly, 'Damn that Xiaoluozi! What kind of terrible idea was this? How dare you make me sacrifice my looks like this? It's outrageous! If that Elixir doesn't turn out to be as miraculous as you said, I swear I'll kill you!'
After ripping off a section of her sleeve, a sorrowful expression appeared on Su Qianqian's face. On the verge of tears, her voice choked with sobs, she pointed a trembling hand at Huangfu Haoyue. "You... you scoundrel! As a Royal Family Descendant, you dare to abduct a common woman... *sob*, I can't go on living... *sob sob*..."
It had to be said, Eldest Miss Su was an excellent actress. Anyone who didn't know the truth would, at first glance, surely be filled with righteous indignation and utterly despise the cold-faced Huangfu Haoyue standing opposite her.
Alright, so Su Qianqian's crying was a little fake...
But what did that matter?
An angry roar came from mid-air. "In broad daylight, right here in the Cangqiong Imperial Capital, under the very eyes of the Emperor! You lecherous fiend, how dare you try to abduct a woman! I see you're tired of living!"
A figure lunged directly at Huangfu Haoyue.
Huangfu Haoyue was already so furious that smoke was practically coming out of his ears, his eyes about to shoot fire. His subordinate had been in the wrong, yes, but Su Qianqian had already slapped him unconscious. From the looks of it, even if he woke up, he'd either be an idiot or deaf in one ear.
And yet, the perpetrator now had the audacity to play the victim!
'Abducting a common woman? Leaving aside whether you're a "common woman" or not, you crippled one of my menâa subordinate in the Great Sword Master Realmâwith a single slap. Who the fuck would dare to abduct *you*?'
Huangfu Haoyue had received a top-tier noble's education since childhood, but at this moment, he still had the overwhelming urge to start cursing.
Especially in the moment Su Qianqian began slandering him, Huangfu Haoyue's fury reached its peak!
'I've been framed!'
This was the only thought in Huangfu Haoyue's mind at that moment. However, he wasn't afraid in the slightest. This was the Imperial Capital of Cangqiong!
The entire Cangqiong Empire belonged to the Huangfu Family!
Cyan Dragon Avenue was packed with people, all of them watching with their own eyes. Could this slander really stick to a member of the imperial clan like him?
But to his surprise, someone who truly didn't fear death had actually come looking for trouble with him.
Watching the figure lunging at him from mid-air, a crazed killing intent flashed in Huangfu Haoyue's eyes.
'You brought this on yourself. Don't blame me for what happens next!'
Huangfu Haoyue gave a cold shout. A sword appeared in his hand from out of nowhere, and with a single thrust, a surging wave of Sword Qi blasted toward the person in mid-air.
The attack stirred up countless turbulent currents in the air, sending those standing nearby stumbling backward and crying out in panic.
Huangfu Haoyue, however, paid them no mind, his gaze fixed coldly on the man in the sky.
'Die!'
The figure in mid-air raised a hand and brought a palm down, striking directly at the wave of Sword Qi that Huangfu Haoyue had unleashed.
A cold, mocking smile couldn't help but touch the corners of Huangfu Haoyue's lips.
'Trying to block my Sword Qi with a bare palm? Gutsy!'
But before Huangfu Haoyue could continue gloating, he saw the figure in mid-air actually shatter his incredibly fierce Sword Qi with that single palm strike!
The smile... instantly froze on Huangfu Haoyue's face. A look of utter disbelief filled his eyes.
Just then...
BOOM!
With a tremendous roar, the shockwave from their clash blew the roofs off many of the buildings on either side. A small wooden building bore the brunt of the impact; after swaying for a moment, it finally let out an overburdened GROAN and collapsed with a crash!
Instantly, countless people came flying out of the building in a desperate escape. Many of them were naked, both men and women, each one a disheveled mess... which was quite an eye-opener for those watching from a safe distance.
"Hey, isn't that the Chief Steward from Prime Minister Wei's Family? Why is he running out naked?"
"You idiot, that's the most expensive brothel in the Imperial Capital!" someone nearby sneered. "Only high-ranking officials and dignitaries can afford to enter that building!"
As they were speaking, someone else recognized another person fleeing from the small building.
"That's Lord Wu! I can't believe it! The same Lord Wu who's known for being completely incorruptible, one of the so-called Four Gentlemen of the Literary World, actually frequents a place like this!"
A strange, sarcastic voice called out from the crowd.
"Hahaha, that Lord Wu is Prime Minister Wei's star protégé, you know! The young official most likely to succeed the Prime Minister himself! And did you see that Rabbit Lord next to him? The look in his eyes is just filled with resentment! Hahahaha, I never would've guessed he was into *that* sort of thing!"
"Ooh, isn't that Lord Zhao Sheng? He looks so imposing when he's wearing clothes, but now that they're off... he's not so special after all. Look at that little thing he's got down there..." a booming voice rang out from the crowd.
A roar of laughter erupted from the crowd of distant onlookers. Many of the younger married women blushed and tutted at the scoundrels around them, but their eyes... their eyes couldn't help but dart back and forth over the naked men who had run out, seemingly making comparisons.
The sudden turn of events made the already bustling and prosperous Cyan Dragon Avenue even more lively. The officials who had been enjoying themselves inside the brothelâreputed to be the most expensive in the Imperial Capital and inaccessible to all but the highest echelons of societyâhad never expected such an accident.
To save their own skins, they could only flee for their lives, stark naked. The smarter ones at least had the presence of mind to cover their faces with their hands.
