Chapter 528 Stupidity
âFirst SisterâŠâ Nan Xin called out once more when she noticed that Nan Hua had stopped embroidering.
Nan Hua raised her head and looked at Nan Xin. âHow can I possibly blame your father for what happened?â
Nan Xinâs eyes widened slightly. Upon hearing Nan Hua say âyour fatherâ and not just âfatherâ, it appeared to her that this young girl didnât want to acknowledge Nan Shu Cheng as her own father too. It was logically understandable, considering what she had gone through all these years.
Even though Nan Hua called Nan Shu Cheng as her father from time to time, it was clear that she only did that when there were outsiders. There was not even an ounce of feeling left when she called him that way.
It was as if the address shouldnât have belonged to anyone in Nan Huaâs life.
Which was why she only uttered it out as nothing more than perfunctory.
âFirst Sister, do you mind if I stay here?â Nan Xin asked carefully.
Nan Hua didnât answer and simply lowered her head to continue embroider. She didnât have any intention to talk with Nan Xin and naturally, she didnât really want to play along with this brat.
Nan Xin gritted her teeth and decided to stay. She had asked her servants to prepare her embroidery equipment, so she also stayed there to do her embroidery. It was a present for her father, so she indeed had to continue it.
Though, normally, she would not spend all day long to embroider.
Thus, a strange scene appeared in front of the servants. The two young misses, who were not really in good terms with each other, sitting side by side on the garden. The two of them were busy embroidering on their own.
It was a strange view.
From time to time, Nan Xin would talk about some matters. From talking about the recent rumors until talk about other matter in the household.
âFirst Sister, I donât think you have visited all the other buildings in the residence, right? How about if you pay a visit to my quarter later on? My quarter is closer to the library, so you can also take a look at the books there,â Nan Xin suggested as she racked her brains, trying to think of anything interesting.
Nan Hua didnât even turn her head as she answered, âAlright.â
Nan Xin was speechless. She only said this because she thought that Nan Hua might be interested in the books, but she didnât expect that Nan Hua would truly accept just like that. it seemed that she had to make sure that she would have the permission to enter the library ready first.
Even though her mother asked her to be close to Nan Hua, Nan Xin didnât really like to stay here. She had talked so much yet Nan Huaâs answers were nothing more than one wordâs answer. At times, she didnât even bother to answer and continued to ignore her.
âHow difficult.â
When it was time for dinner, Nan Xin finally left.đđȘđŁđđđđxt.đđđ
Xiao Yun brought Nan Huaâs food to her room. âMiss, are you going to let Second Young Miss to stay close to you?â
Nan Hua took the chopsticks. âChildren personality is not set in stone.â
At that answer, Xiao Yun was feeling a bit speechless. Nan Xin was only a few months younger than Nan Hua, but why did it sound as if Nan Hua was already an adult when she said this? However, Xiao Yun would definitely not say anything to Nan Hua at this moment.
She also knew that Nan Hua was correct. Many childrenâs personality was not completely set. Even adults could change because of some life changing experience, what was more were the children.
They grew up based on the way they were raised.
Though, Xiao Yun honestly doubted that Nan Xin would be up to anything good when she was trying to get close to Nan Hua. Since Nan Hua seemed so nonchalant, Xiao Yun silently decided that she would watch over Nan Xin more carefully whenever that brat come over.
And it did happen.
Nan Xin visited Nan Huaâs Quarter from time to time, bringing her embroidery and worked on it beside Nan Hua. She would talk about some things and her way of talking seemed as if she was only sharing a story that didnât expect any answer.
It continued that way until Nan Xin told Nan Hua that it would be their fatherâs birthday party in two days.
âThereâs a dinner together tonight.â Nan Xin folded her finished embroidery and glanced at Nan Huaâs. She silently wondered whether Nan Hua would give any of the embroidery that she worked on for her father. However, the thought only crossed her mind and Nan Xin didnât try to explore it any longer.
âHave you prepared any present for Father, First Sister?â
âI have.â
Nan Hua had asked Xiao Yun to buy some books that might be useful for Nan Shu Cheng. It didnât need to be expensive and even the ordinary ones are fine. As long as she showed that she was still a âfilialâ child, it should be fine.
âI see. I thought that youâll need help.â Nan Xin smiled. âMother had ordered some new dresses for us. They should arrive tomorrow.â
Nan Hua nodded.
âIâll be going first, First Sister.â
Nan Hua didnât answer and Nan Xin walked away. It was clear that Nan Xin had long gotten used to Nan Huaâs indifferent attitude that she didnât take it to her heart anymore.
When Nan Xin had left, Nan Hua also stopped her embroidery. âTonightâs dinner should be interesting.â
Xiao Yun helped Nan Hua up while her mind was thinking about what Nan Xin had said. She felt that there was something that Nan Xin was implying through her words, but Xiao Yun understood nothing.
Nan Hua didnât take long to dress up and headed to the table for dinner. She noticed that the atmosphere was tense.
It seemed that Madam Qu was not quiet at all.
She still pulled some strings here and there even though the power to manage the household is not in hers.
