The manās eyes widened at Lukasā aura. He hadnāt expected the young man before him to be S-rank.
However, he was still confident. He figured Lukas had to be a newly minted S-rank and was merely bluffing.
"You seem to think just because youāre S-rank, you can handle me." The man tilted his head, grinning at Lukas. "Guess Iāll have to teach you a lesson."
"Is that so?" Lukas chuckled. Then he reached into his spatial ring, withdrawing his [Cursed Blade].
The moment the manās eyes landed on the dark steel of his bastard sword, an uncertain look entered his eyes.
He could tell that the sword was already covered in a skill. Which means the kid had a combat class. And judging by his youth and his rank, the class had to be powerful.
But his confidence? That could mean he had friends in high places.
The man swallowed. Maybe heād bitten off more than he could chew. But he wasnāt going to take this insult lying down. Heād take revenge in his own way. By making sure the kid never got a VIP room throughout his stay here.
"Iād like it if you leave my office." The man said coldly, not breaking eye contact with Lukas.
Lukas stared at the man for a moment before nodding. "I wouldnāt want to stay in the same room as a rat anyways."
The manās hands tightened into fists but he didnāt attack.
Seeing this, Lukas chuckled. "Figures."
And with one look at the man, he left.
He could already tell from the look in the manās eyes that he should forget about getting a VIP ticket. But at the end of the day, it didnāt matter. It was just 200 Gacha Points. And there were no penalties to failing. He was sure heād get the points back in another quest.
He made his way back to the lounge heād left Akira and Melody to see them laughing quietly over something as they drank from their cups of alcohol.
As he walked closer, he could see a well dressed man making his way towards them, and decided to hang back to see how his wives would handle this. It might be fun or violent. Either way, he was sure heād be getting a free show.
"Hello ladies," the man said as he drew closer. Catching a sight of his face, Lukas could tell that the man was reasonably good looking. Not as good looking as he was though. He smiled to himself at that.
Akira and Melody ignored the man, but it was clear that theyād both noticed him from the moment he began moving towards them.
"Ladies," he said with a louder voice this time, "can I buy you a drink?"
Melody and Akira burst into laughter over their drinks, acting like they were sharing a particularly funny joke, but the man frowned, wondering if theyād been laughing at him.
But he decided to try again for a third time. He walked closer until he was behind Melody, tapping her gently on the shoulder. "My lady."
This time, Melody turned to him, a frown on her face.
Seeing the frown, the manās mouth hung open as if heād forgotten what he was about to say. He hadnāt faced such outright hostility from ladies in a long time.
After a few seconds of Melody frowning at him, she asked, her eyes cold. "What did you want?"
"I- I-" he stammered before clearing his throat. He forced a charming smile on his face, motioning to the nearby bartender. "I just wanted to buy you ladies a drink."
Melody stared at the man for a few seconds before her gaze went down to the cups in front of them which were already filled with alcohol, then back up at the man.
"And what made you think we didnāt have drinks?"
The man didnāt know what to say to that, his eyes jumping from Melody to Akira, as if wondering what was happening. "I... I just thought you ladies were beautiful and wanted to appreciate your beauty."
"Donāt worry about that," Melody gave him an unimpressed stare. "We already appreciate our beauties by ourselves."
The man looked puzzled for a moment before his eyes seemed to widen in realization. "Oh! You two donāt seem to know who I am."
Akira and Melody exchanged glances, before turning to look at the man, eyebrows raised expectantly.
The man cleared his throat and fixed his jacket, chest rising pompously. "My name is Boaz Connifer. You must have heard of my family. Weāre usually in charge ofā"
"And so what?" Akira cut in, tilting her head at him.
The man looked confused. Everything was going the opposite way heād expected. "Didnāt you hear me clearly? I said Connifer. The Connifer family that rulesā"
"Donāt know, donāt care." Melody said dryly. "We have enough drinks here and we can appreciate our beauties ourselves. If I were you, Iād leave before our husband gets here. Heās not as patient as we are."
"Husband?" The man sputtered. "You guys share the same man?"
"Got a problem with that?" Melody asked, brows raised threateningly.
"Of- Of course not." The man shook his head rapidly, waving his hands in front of his chest in denial. "I didnāt know you were married."
He cleared his throat, unable to believe what he was hearing. One man had managed to bag these two beauties at the same time?
"Err... Excuse me." The man said, then left.
Akira and Melody burst into laughter, watching him go.
Lukas smiled, walking to them. "Hello, ladies. Can I buy you a drink?"
"If I didnāt recognize your voice, I wouldāve given you a punch in the face." Akira turned to him, downing her cup of alcohol in one go.
"Canāt I appreciate your beauty too?" He chuckled.
"You already do that everyday, you moron." Akira chuckled. "With me bent over your table and being fucked rawā"
"You pervert." Lukas snorted.
The three of them shared a laugh, which was soon interrupted by a familiar voice.
"Hey!"
They turned to see Boaz Connifer standing there, but this time, he was flanked by two armored guards.
Lukas turned to the man, expression neutral. "What do you want?"
