Chapter 1152: Little Brat
Jala still looked very much confused. He didnât have any context for why this was so great or important. What he was more interested in was how his Hall Clan had been moved, and what the relation was with the Professors.
âDo you know about the Professors?â
Alex seemed to recoil, but given his personality, this seemed more exaggerated than anything else.
âDonât mention those sick freaks around me. I read about some of the stuff they did and felt my dick escape into my body. I thought Iâd have to find a way to make my balls drop again.â
Jala shuddered as well, remembering his encounter with one of them. They were truly people that would do anything.
âSo you donât know anything?â
âHow many questions do you want to ask me while floating around naked? The only man Iâm gay for is Psycho Syl, even if he might try to take my head off the next time he sees me.â
Jala gave Alex a weird look. He really couldnât figure this man out.
âHave you never been in a locker room before?â
âOh? You call it a locker room on your world too? Of course I have been, but I was the chubby kid that changed in the bathroom stall. Forgive me for not having enough meat to swing around.â
Jala found himself sputtering with laughter. He really couldnât take anything this man said seriously. For a second, he forgot that he was technically enslaved right now.
âCan you at least tell me what you actually need me for now?â
âI already told you. The Genes in you are special, and I need them. But I donât actually have an easy method of getting to them, so I can only use crude methods that, um⊠might require quite a bit of your blood, maybe, kinda.â
âYou want to use a Blood Essence drain on me? Doesnât that only work if youâre related?â
âWell, we are kind of related now.â
âWhy would that require an enslavement contract, though? You spoke as though I would grow stronger.â
âCaution, for one. And you just might very well grow stronger. The thing with this is that none of us really know what will happen. But what I do know is that there are a lot of people who do not want this Race to appear again, and given how hard theyâre tryingâif I had to betâIâd say that the odds of its suddenly reviving arenât zero.
âEven Psycho Syl avoided this Race. That probably means something.â
âYou keep mentioning him. Are you two close?â
âUm⊠not exactly?â
âHow much do you know about him?â
âNot enough.â
âThen why do you sound so scared of him?â
Alexâs head tilted to the side, looking at Jala with what must have been a very weird look. After a while, Jala realized why he was getting that look and blushed a bit.
âListen, just because he killed me, doesnât mean I have to be afraid of him.â
âHoho, your skills arenât bad, I almost believed you.â
âI am not scared of him!â Jalaâs voice boomed, but he seemed to be more so trying to convince himself than anything else.
âAlright, alright. I believe you. Okay, I donât believe you, but Iâm also a terrible liar. What I do believe is that youâd fight him again if you had the chance, and thatâs enough to save your ego a bit. I wouldnât advise it though. That man doesnât work based on common sense.â
Jala frowned. âJust what have you been through with him?â
âNothing, really. Iâve just watched him from afar. You know, Legacy is a massive organization. Its information is unfathomably deep. Even its branches manage to find Summoned Worlds from time to time, sinking their claws in early, then manipulating things from the background.
âIn this case, it wasnât even just Legacy involved, but the Professors as well. Legacy as a whole usually takes a more hands-off approach, while the Professors are far more aggressive with the way they do things. It might be possible for a usual Summoned World to stave off the influence of Legacy a bit and take advantage of some of their pacifism, but not if the Professors are involved.
âIn this case, while it seemed like the Legacy of Earth was quite hands-off, they had their hands in all of the important pots. But the more I looked into it, the more I felt that they were actually being directed by a damn kid.â
ââŠWhat does that mean?â Jala asked.
Alex shook his head. âItâs hard to break down everything Iâve consumed into a short summary. Youâll just have to follow me around until you see it too. But what I can say is that thereâs a reason the Race the universe doesnât want to appear is seen as so dangerous. Even facing off against the Professors, they not only managed to hold their own, but they left contingencies. They were a huge part of the reason the Professors couldnât take Earth for themselves completely despite the massive disparity in experience.â
âBut you said my Hall family is their descendants. Your words implied that Sylas wasnât one of them, but of the Great Apes instead.â
âAh, so you are a little smart after all.â Alex chuckled. âYes, thatâs right. As far as I know, the closest to that Race is your Hall Clan, which escaped, and the reason your Hall Clan was displaced like that was so that you could be more easily manipulated away from the influence of that Race that has been constantly trying to find ways of coming back. That movement cut off their chance to return, leaving much of the contingencies they left behind useless.â
âYou mean the backup plans they left couldnât be used by others?â
âYes. They set two difficulties to everythingâone for those that shared their blood, and another for those that didnât. The latter was so difficult even the Professors could only give up and move your Hall Clan elsewhere.
âThen a little brat came around and solved their little puzzle at nine years old.â
