Chapter 697: Secrets
âThese Warden Units are so incredible, no matter how many times I see themâŠâ Reylin muttered.
The others could only nod as they were also quite impressed by its appearance. Humanoid Machines are simply too good.
They possessed incredible calculation and analysis ability⊠They do not feel pain, and would not get tired unless their power cores or energy source ran out. They were almost the perfect soldier.
If they were able to build hundreds or thousands of them, they wouldnât have a lot of casualties in Zombie Waves.
They might lose out on Experience Points, but if their safety was already guaranteed, many Survivors would want to live like that.
Just like that, the group watched the Warden Units line up along a raised platform, their metal bodies working whatever task they were assigned.
Then, moving along, they saw variants of such Warden Units.
These units were bulkier⊠They had added reinforced plating, shoulder-mounted cannons, and more reactor cores embedded into their spines.
Then, they saw a few technicians outside the factories looking at various Warden UnitsâŠ
They seemed to be going to the testing area for the calibrations of their weapon systems while running diagnostics.
âAre we really allowed to view this area?â Duran whispered.
Edwin nodded once. âYou donât have to worry about it. You will become part of our community, and youâll learn more about this project. As a matter of fact, if you know people who can help in this division, it is much better⊠Even if they donât have the exact skills we needed, as long as they have related talents, they can be taught.â
âNow that youâve said that⊠I think I can recommend a few mechanics to this Division. Iâm sure theyâll be happy to be part of it.â Reylin muttered.
She knew that some of her soldiers in the shelter were actually talented mechanics. They simply had no other choice but to pick up their weapons and use their guns to join the fight against the Zombies.
However, Shaneâs shelter was different.
They werenât desperate to enlist non-combative Survivors!
Perhaps, this was the moment they had been waiting for.
âIâm sure theyâll be happy if they can also show their talents. After all, everyone here isnât working for free⊠Anyway who contribute to the shelter will be rewarded. Of course, Iâm the one handling such matters.â Butler Edwin said as she looked at Reylinâs group.
âThatâs impressive. I guess my residents who have skills in the kitchen, gardening, and sculpting can also have a job here.â Reyline said.
âOf course⊠However, I heard that Shane planned to send people to your shelter, depending on what your place needs, while you can also send your people who have production skills on our side if they want to work here.â Edwin paused and looked at Reylin before he continued.
âInitially, I thought that Shane wanted to just bring all of you to one of our shelters. It will increase the strength of the shelter, but after some considerations, he mustâve realized that it would be better to have more shelters in other regions to increase his influence and also resources.â
Reyline nodded at this as she also knew that her Shelter Two wasnât just a strategic stronghold in the area, but it also controls a huge part of the forest, a gold mine, and maybe even more.
However, they simply did not have to resources to extract their resources.
Finding herbs, woods, and other ingredients in the forest was quite easy, but mining was not simple.
Aside from getting fighters to fend off the Zombies that could lurk around the mines, they also do not have spare people to work in the mines. After all, it would split their people and might weaken their main shelter in the process.
âLook hereâŠâ Edwin suddenly said as he gestured to another areaâŠ
Not far from their position, they saw a training court wider than a schoolyard, where ten Super Soldiers sparred against regular soldiersâŠ
They could tell that much because the size of the Super Soldiers was just too different from average humans.
Looking at the Super Soldiers, they couldnât help but stare at them for a moment as the group analyzed their movements.
They were swift and explosive, their punches and kicks leaving shockwaves in the air.
However, their opponents werenât easily defeated either.
âAura?â Reylin muttered as she recognized the power they were using.
âI thought only Monks could use this powerâŠâ Maz muttered. Their now-gone Shelter One actually had a Monk Squad. They recruited a total of 15 Monks from Rare Recruitment Stones, and they all had Aura Abilities.
They tried teaching others how to use it, but it wasnât easy.
In the end, they all died protecting Shelter One up until the end.
âThese guysâŠâ Duran muttered. âThey could take on a small horde on their ownâŠâ
And just beside them, they noticed five more Elves with silver-trimmed cloaks and crossbows as their weapons.
They were also training in silenceâŠ
They watched as arrows flew through the air, striking some moving targets at the end of the training yard.
No wasted movement. No misfire. Just perfect accuracyâŠ
Maz stared. âTheyâre too perfectâŠâ
âThe weapons are great⊠But those elves must have Accuracy-Related Skills.â
âRacial Trait?â Torren muttered.
âIt could beâŠâ
For a long moment, no one said anything more as they simply watched the others on their training.
Eventually, Edwin brought them near a serene courtyard surrounded by unknown but impressive treesâŠ
âWhat the heck? What kind of tree gives such powerful energy?â Duran suddenly commented.
âElves are here⊠Maybe they were the ones who planted and grew them?â Maria added.
Apparently, she wasnât completely wrong.
Shane had already brought some soil and even trees from the Fairy Realm. Of course, Shane already obtained the World Treeâs seed, and it was still not sproutingâŠ
However, there were plenty of other trees in the Fairy Realm, and Shane simply experimented.
He wanted to know if the trees or plants he brought from the pocket dimension could actually grow here.
In the end, he only succeeded after planting the World Treeâs seed nearby!
