Chapter 827: The End of the Vampire Lord

The projectile punched through the weakened Blood Sphere, creating a path of lightning straight into Statham.

The resulting explosion smelled like burned blood as the Vampire Lord faltered.
The shock destabilized the Blood Sphere completely, and it no longer protected the other Vampire Knights around himā¦
These Vampire Knights had then become vulnerable to the Reaper Mech Frameās attacks!
Indeed, with the Shield broken, the Reapers went from suppression to slaughter.
Their targeting converged on the remaining Knights.
Mini cannons and spirit rounds tore through their remaining defensesā¦
There was no need to question the Reaperās precision shot as they easily severed the bodies of the Vampire Knights.
One by one, the Vampire Knights fell, reduced to ash or smoking bodiesā¦
Statham didnāt even have the chance to shatter them and consume their blood. They died so quickly and had been wasted!
Statham staggered, one hand on the crown of his skullā¦
There was a blood congealing along his jaw. He was still dangerous, but he had definitely suffered from that sniperā¦
As he felt that the sniper would attack once again, the Vampire Lord roaredā¦
He was hoping that this sound wave attack wouldnāt be blocked by any more of the Floating Fortressās barrier.
Soon, he attempted one last gamble. He cast a wave of blood-sorcery!
He suddenly became a form of blood liquid and went straight up toward the fortressās baseā¦
He was aiming to cloak himself in mist and slip through the wrecked Barrier as he dissolved into a swarm of blood-forms.
The plan might have worked if not for the Reapersā targeting!
They all just fired a concentrated burst right through the dispersing blood, scattering the mist and igniting the remaining sorcery into harmless embers!
Statham reformed his body as he couldnāt take any more damage from that suppression fireā¦
Then, for a moment, he glared directly at the fortress, and Shane met that stareā¦
However, at this time, Shane was already using his Telekinesis.
Statham was completely unaware when he saw Shane, the latter had already delivered one of his precious itemsā¦

Still, in just a few moments, the fireball finally died down.
The only thing left of Statham was a warped crater and a pool of sizzling blood that quickly evaporated.

Their scanners were still tracking the dispersing ashes as if wary the Vampire Lord might reappear.
But the system never lied. Statham was gone.
He immediately informed everyone about this through their open channel.
āHeās deadā¦ I got the confirmation, everyoneā¦ Good work.ā Shane said, and everyone finally heaved a sigh of relief.
This was what they were waiting for.

The pilots wondered aloud as they all celebrated the death of the Vampire Lord.

Shane then closed the loot window.
For now, he didnāt bother to inspect every single piece of equipment or skill sphere.
There would be time for that later. Right now, he had more pressing matters, the people who had risked their lives on the ground.
The Floating Fortress shifted as Shane adjusted its course toward Tessaās location.
Slowly, the massive structure descended closer to the ruined city outskirts where Tessa and her scouts had led the thirty-four survivors.
Soon, the elevator descendedā¦
āBring them up,ā Shane ordered.
Then, Tessa gave a signal, and soon the survivors, guided by scouts, were ushered onto the platform.
They looked like ghosts.
Thin, pale, hollow-eyed, they barely had the strength to walk, and a few collapsed the moment they set foot on the solid surface of the lift.
Their malnourished frames spoke louder than words.
As the lift rose back into the Fortress, Shane had already summoned the medical team. Although Anna was not here, they still had a few medical practitioners with complete kits in their hands.
āBegin full checks. Prioritize wounds and infection scans.ā Shane instructed.
The medics moved quickly.
Each survivor was scanned for injuries, and most importantly, signs of zombie bites or viral contamination.
Soon, Shane felt relieved within the hangar as initial checks came back clean.
A few cuts, bruises, and lash marks were treated immediately.
Healing patches were applied, and even small doses of energy tonics were given to stabilize their condition.
The change was instant.
The moment they realized they were being treated with free food, tears welled in their eyes as they tasted real food again.
For now, Shane remained silent, just watching for a while. He wasnāt here to be praised by the groupā¦ He wanted to make sure they felt safe first so he could get more information from themā¦

No one spoke, but Shane continued.
