Chapter 862: The Red Night ( 2 )
Diana helplessly smiled after seeing Shaneās message. They had a tough battle just now. She didnāt expect that the low-tier Zombies of the Red Night Event would be as strong as high-tier Zombies at normal times!
[ Diana: Weāre holding. Refinery walls took damage, but the Flame Towers are still active. Many automated Turrets on the south line overheated, but the technicians are already working on replacements. Casualties⦠seventeen wounded, no deaths. ]
[ Shane: Good work. I trust that you can keep them safe. If you need more Warden Units on your side, let me know. I also sent Sparky there to help in case you needed. Make sure to utilize his strength. ]
Sparky received another Evolution Stone from the Platinum Chest, and thanks to that, the Thunderbird had gotten a lot stronger. The skies of the Silver Mine Camp were probably a lot stronger than the Eclipse Domain with Sparkyās presence there.
After Diana thanked Shane, he turned to another Shelter.
[ Shane: Raze, status report from Springriver Manor. ]
[ Raze: Two Zombie Lords at once. That was a bit unexpected since they came from the ground. Weāve lost two wall sections during the second hour, but Klara and Rylen managed to reinforce them using Earth Magic or something. Roanās breath cleared most of the corrupted zombies trying to climb the walls. Thanks to that, we donāt have any significant breach yet. ]
Shane nodded after hearing this.
If he recalled it correctly, Klara was one of the female slaves he rescued from another Clan and she had Elemental Manipulation Talent.
On the other hand, Rylen was a young kid who had the talent to sense ore or maybe communicate with themā¦
[ Shane: Thatās good to head. Keep your Dragonās stamina in check. Give him Spirit Stones or Mana Crystals. It doesnāt matter. I can get a lot of supplies. Make sure heās healthy. ]
[ Raze: Sure! ]
Finally, Shane opened the last connection.
[ Shane: Tundra, what about the Blood Talonās Shelter? ]
[ Tundra: Hah⦠Weāre still alive, Commander. ]
Tundra chatted back.
[ Tundra: Weāve lost one watchtower to eight Corrupted Giant Zombies throwing boulders, but our walls held. No casualties though. My explosives managed to stop them in time. I just used up more Spirit Stones than I expected. ]
[ Shane: Understood. Iāll authorize a Spirit Stone shipment. Iāll send a Warden Unit to deliver it to the portal. ]
[ Tundra: Copy that. The Blood Talonās shelter is in good terrain. We only have to worry about one side⦠If I need more assistance, Iāll let you know. ]
Shane leaned back in his seat as he felt better after confirming that there werenāt any casualties for the first three hours of the event.
The Red Night had only just begun, and the system itself warned them that twenty-one hours still remained. It wouldnāt be easy.
āJust how strong do you think this next wave will be, Cloudā¦ā Shane muttered. He wasnāt really expecting Cloud to answer, but it seemed that his AI assistant had gathered enough data to come up with a reply.
[ Data analysis suggests mutation density will increase by thirty-eight percent during the next phase. ]
That was certainly not a comforting answerā¦

In the meantime, Anna had already left the command center after ensuring Shane and the others had everything under control.
She was, after all, the head physician, and with the first phase of the Red Night Event finally over, it was her duty to check on everyone who had sustained even the smallest injuries.
Although there were many other physicians or healers around, she still needed to appear there just in case there was a problem.
Fortunately, there werenāt any major casualties this time.
Most of the injured were Mech Frame pilots who had pushed their limits far beyond safe operation. There was also Taylor, Earl, and a few elves who had gotten exhausted in the defensive line. As for the damaged Warden Units, the technicians from the Engineering Division were already working tirelessly to repair their frames and refit new cores.
Still, Anna made sure everything was prepared⦠The medical bay was fully stocked, the beds were ready, and the medical bags containing potions, medicines, and some medical equipment were on standby in case of another emergency.
Just as she was about to check the supply logs, she noticed someone familiar standing quietly in the corner of the hallway.
It was Olivia.
The young woman looked pale and somewhat unsteady. She was one of the few skillful people in the infirmary. She had a Rare-Grade Healing Touch Talent, which made her invaluable in the medical team.
Anna remembered her well. She was one of the women rescued from the Mystic Mirage Clan before Shane personally obliterated it for their actions of capturing women for pleasure.
āOlivia?ā Anna called softly, walking closer. āYou donāt look too good. Are you injured?ā
Olivia shook her head slowly, but her trembling hands and pale lips betrayed her.
āI⦠I donāt know. Ever since that⦠that scream from the Zombie Lord earlier⦠Iāve been feeling dizzy, weak⦠andā¦ā
Before she could finish, Anna instinctively placed her palm over Oliviaās abdomen and activated her skill.
Her eyes briefly glowed with blue light as streams of data filled her mind. The results made her freeze in place.
āā¦Youāre pregnant?ā she whispered.
Olivia blinked, stunned. āWhat? That canāt be⦠Are you sure?ā
Anna nodded slowly, still processing the unexpected revelation.
The readings were clear and stable, early stage⦠Anna wasnāt sure if her dizziness was due to her pregnancy, but it seemed that she had to let her rest first.
āIām sure⦠I have to send you to the evacuation shelter.ā
Oliviaās expression darkened as she clutched her chest. āNo⦠Wait⦠I think this started because of that scream a while ago.ā
Annaās mind immediately flashed back to the earlier battle. Zombie Lord Bellās shriek was a powerful sonic wave. It had affected several fighters, even those wearing reinforced suits.
āItās possible⦠It mightāve affected the childā¦ā Anna muttered as she looked at Oliviaās pale face.
