Chapter 1887 - 1887 The Knights

1887 The Knights

When everyone rushed into the city, Li Qingran had already assembled a medium-sized player team of over 100 members.

Outside the town’s periphery, the battle had commenced.

The initial wave of the Holy Court’s vanguard had launched a sudden assault on Shaq Town!

A horde of undead creatures had gathered outside, attempting to block the Holy Court’s attack.

The town’s garrison captain directed the defending soldiers on the city wall to resist with full force.

Li Qingran ascended the city wall, swiftly surveyed the battlefield, and furrowed his brow, saying, “Fang Heng, even the vanguard team alone is formidable. This Holy Court team is no ordinary threat. We need to be extremely cautious in dealing with them.”

“Yes,” Fang Heng replied, observing the Empire’s soldiers and various summoned undead creatures fighting the Holy Court outside the city wall.

Over 80% of the Enkama Empire consisted of necromancy scholars, with even regular soldiers possessing basic necromantic skills.

The problem was…

Necromancy faced significant opposition from the Holy Court in the initial stages!

The first assault from the Holy Court’s vanguard suggested imminent collapse for the town.

The town mayor, an elderly man, had never witnessed such a scenario. Seeing Li Qingran bringing reinforcements, he hurriedly welcomed them, “Are you sent by the Empire to rescue us? You’ve finally arrived.”

The town guard captain briefed them.

“Sir, those outside should be the Holy Court’s first vanguard… Based on intel from our scouts, during the Jones Kingdom’s rebellion, the Holy Court swiftly breached the border. They dispatched eight large teams to attack the Empire’s heartland from eight different towns. We’re among the first targeted.”

Fang Heng and Li Qingran exchanged glances.

The mission was exceedingly troublesome!

Consequently, the other seven towns would also face imminent attacks!

They needed a quick plan!

Li Qingran had a commanding presence.

Despite the substantial players gathering behind them, a significant portion had joined the fray without organized teams.

They could fare well in favorable battles but easily lose control against formidable adversaries.

Thus…

Creating a morale boost was imperative!

“Let’s handle this vanguard first,” Fang Heng nodded to Li Qingran.

“Agreed.”

Li Qingran nodded and gestured. “Friends, the Holy Court’s initial vanguard isn’t overwhelmingly strong. Let’s help the town break through their attack!”

“Understood!”

“Charge!”

Players noticed the Holy Court’s first wave was potent but not numerous.

Some players leaped down the city Wolvens, joining the melee, while others launched ranged spell attacks.

“I’ll deal with them. You stay and command.”

Fang Heng bent down and leaped from the city wall.

As soon as he entered the game, he immediately received an emergency mission. His zombie clone committed suicide without a chance to revive.

First, rely on the undead bones to block the wave!

Fang Heng dashed onto the battlefield, joining the crowd, and swiftly brought his hands together in front of him.

“Condense!”

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Four magic arrays condensed around Fang Heng.

A chilling aura emanated from the magic arrays!

Some players standing beside Fang Heng felt the frigid ice spirit aura nearby and turned to look at him in surprise.

What kind of called upon Creature was this?

How could it emit such a powerful aura?

Others felt the icy breeze from behind and instinctively glanced back.

Unfamiliar with Fang Heng, they only noticed the ghost mask on his face, reminiscent of his previous companion Li Qingran.

Four undead bonds leaders emerged successively from the magic arrays, wielding their ice soul-slaying blades as they charged forward!

They were commander-level Creatures!

The players were astonished.

Who was this player?

On the city wall, Li Qingran was astonished to witness Fang Heng summoning the four undead bones leaders so effortlessly.

Having not seen him for a while, Fang Heng seemed capable of this.

She originally thought that Fang Heng had progressed from a beginner scholar to the pinnacle of high-tier necromancy in less than half a year. He must have devoted most of his efforts to academic research in necromancy, likely without much time to cultivate other combat skills.

She didn’t anticipate such a tremendous surprise the moment he took action!

“Bang! Bang!”

The colossal four undead bonds leaders charged into the frontline!

Almost instantly, the situation swung in favor of the players.

Since the player joined, the Holy Court’s side was already struggling. Now, with the undead bones leader joining in, their retreat became more evident.

In the rear of the Holy Court’s formation, Wolven, the commanding vanguard Knight of Honor of the Holy Court, swiftly noticed Fang Heng, who was controlling the undead bones from the rear. He raised his right hand high with the spear and shouted to the knights behind him, “Prepare to charge!”

He had expected a secure surprise attack, but he didn’t anticipate the town’s swift organization of a defense!

Summoning a commander-level undead lifeforms in such a short time!

How could a necromancy scholar summoning undead bones be an ordinary person?

Wolven was convinced that Fang Heng was the leader of this

“Kill him! Once he’s down, the defense squad won’t hold much longer!” Wolven thought.

Wolven led dozens of honorary knights, charging into the war ground from the rear, directly aiming for Fang Heng!

Warhorses galloped!

“Charge!”

Wolven spearheaded the charge!

Utilizing a specialized combat technique, he consolidated the Holy Court knight regiment’s strength into a single point, thrusting like a sharp spear into the midst of the two opposing groups!

Seeing the sudden charge of the knights, the players sensed trouble and dodged.

Even the power emanating from the knights’ charge made them cautious. There was no need to confront it head-on.

Fang Heng focused on Wolven’s charging team, immediately directing the undead bones leader to block the Holy Paladins’ advancing path.

“Charge!”

Wolven’s thunderous command led the squad to accelerate, charging once again toward Fang Heng! The entire group was enveloped in a radiant Sacred light!

“Boom!”

Wolven’s party collided fiercely with the undead bones leader’s blade! The explosive Holy Shock sent the ice soul-slaying blade flying from the undead bones leader’s grasp!

The two undead bones were forcefully repelled!

Simultaneously, hindered by the two undead bones, the Holy Paladin’s charge slowed, and the encompassing Sacred power weakened by half.

It was enough!

Even so, it was enough to take him down!

Wolven fixed his gaze on Fang Heng and continued to lead the charge of the honorary knights through the gap left by the knocked-back undead bones leaders. Raising his spear and firmly locking onto Fang Heng with his spiritual power, he rushed directly at him!
