Chapter 2141 Offensive

Chapter 2141  Offensive

It seemed that the attack of the tree spirits had not completely begun.

Fang Heng was suspicious and looked around curiously for a moment. He flapped his wings and headed towards the coordinates of the emergency gathering point sent by the tree spirits.

Sunset Town.

It was one of the retreat points of the tree spirits.

At this time, due to the external threat to the central research institute, the Sunset Town area was also being paid attention to. The outside of the town was firmly controlled by the Federation’s mechanical soldiers and a portion of large-scale war machines.

In addition, shadows of OmniTech Company’s guards and psychic enhancers can still be seen at various entrances and exits of the town.

It seemed that the OmniTech Company and the Federation had acted very quickly and had already responded at the first moment.

And the assault from the tree spirit race seems to have not officially commenced yet.

Fang Heng hovered in the air above the town and observed for a moment. He landed in a corner of the town and rushed toward the gathering point.

Soon, following the mission guidance, Fang Heng arrived at the front of a run-down motel.

A sign hung on the motel’s door with the words “On vacation”.

Fang Heng walked to the door.

“Who is it?”

An alert voice came from the door when he saw the figure at the door.

Then, the door was opened a crack.

A fierce-looking middle-aged man sized Fang Heng up through the crack in the door, his eyes carrying a hint of warning, “This place is already closed. If you don’t want to cause trouble, hurry up and leave.”

“I’m from the Tree Whisperers Alliance.”

Fang Heng gestured at the symbol of the Tree Whisperers Alliance in his hand and said, “I received the news and wanted to see if I could help.”

The middle-aged man was stunned when he saw the mark. Then, he frowned and said, “There are people from the OmniTech Company outside. How did you get in?”

“It’s nothing, I just used a little trick.”

“Interesting. I’m Yates. Come with me.”

As he spoke, he opened the door even wider.

Fang Heng turned his body and squeezed into the hotel through the crack in the door. He followed Yates into the hotel.

Dozens of people were gathered in the hotel lobby.

When they saw Yates bring in an unfamiliar person, they all looked at Fang Heng.

Yates glanced at the crowd and said concisely, “Someone from the Tree Whisperers Alliance. He’s new.”

“I didn’t expect someone to enter the town at this time.”

Standing at the front of the hall, a tree spirit glanced at Fang Heng and quickly moved his gaze away, “Yates, he’s with your team. Get ready. The Wood and Root tribes will arrive in five minutes. We’ll act together.”

Fang Heng couldn’t help but glance at the tree spirit who was talking in front of him.

He had heard Sandy mention that the tree spirit race was divided into four tribes: Leaf, Wood, Root, and Soul.

They represented the leaves, trunk, roots, and tree soul of a tree.

The appearance of the tree spirit in front of him was very similar to Vannes, whom he had met before. He could see the leaf-like veins on his skin.

It should be someone from the Leaf tribe.

With that, the tree spirits left first, leaving the Tree Whisperers Alliance to prepare for the battle.

The hall instantly became noisy.

Yates looked at Fang Heng and said, “I’m Yates, from the Tree Whisperers Alliance’s European League. How should I address you, friend?”

“Fang Heng, I’m from the Ite District Alliance. I happened to be nearby. I came over to help when I heard the news. What’s the situation?” Fang Heng asked as he looked at the few tree spirits who were walking into the hall, “Is it bad?”

“I don’t know the details. I heard that a group of people is trapped in the research institute. Half an hour ago, the tree spirits had already interfered with the spatial transmission network coverage in this area. The speed of support from the Federation and OmniTech Company will be greatly reduced.”

“Fighting the Federation head-on…” Fang Heng curled his lips and said, “It’s been a long time since the tree spirits made such a big commotion. What’s going on?”

“It is said that the central research institute of OmniTech Company touched on a taboo of the tree spirit race. Initially, the tree spirit race planned to infiltrate it, but it seems there was some mistake in the middle, leading to failure.”

Yates explained in a low voice and continued, “I heard it too. Don’t ask for anything else. The tree spirits are very sensitive about this. After the tree spirits gather, they will directly break through the research institute from the front. We don’t need to rush to the front line. We just need to think of a way to help from the side. The weapons can be collected there. Brother, you know how to use them, right?”

“Alright, I’ve learned a little.”

Fang Heng nodded slightly and walked to the side of the hall where the people were gathered.

Wooden boxes were placed along the wall.

The boxes were filled with firearms.

Fang Heng picked up a few guns to check.

It was not a special weapon of the tree spirits, but a beam weapon.

These beam weapons did have a bit of a dated appearance, and their maintenance seemed subpar. Just from their looks, they were of lower quality compared to the weapons used by the guards of OmniTech Company, by more than just a notch.

The Tree Whisperers Alliance must have gotten their hands on it through special channels.

Fang Heng pondered for a moment and took out a few pieces of equipment to try.

[Hint: The player has obtained an item-Rechargeable tactical vest.]

Item: Rechargeable tactical vest.

Description: The Federation’s seventh-generation rechargeable tactical vest. When attacked from a distance, it can automatically trigger a barrier that protects against long-range physical attacks. The barrier can absorb physical kinetic energy and additional damage from beam weapons. Maintaining the barrier will consume energy.

Description: Attacks will consume additional energy points.

Description: Due to partial damage, the item can only be charged to 70% of its original capacity and will suffer additional energy consumption.

[Hint: The player needs to use the Tree Whisperers Alliance contribution points to exchange for this item. Under the current mission status, the consumption will be reduced to half of the original amount. You can only exchange for a maximum of five items to enjoy the discount.]

It could even withstand long-range beam weapons?

Such a light vest?

Fang Heng was a little surprised.

It looked pretty good.

He could definitely sell it for a high price in a low-level game world.

It was probably something that could only be found in the advanced game worlds.

Fang Heng thought that the guards from the Federation and OmniTech Company that he had encountered before should have been equipped with similar vests.

It was just that at that time, he had only used melee attacks or long-range magic attacks, so the tactical vest had not been effective.

He didn’t need to use it either.

After all, with the undying body effect, the HP recovery effect was much better than a tattered vest.

He could bring it back for Qiu Yaokang to research and try to replicate it.

Fang Heng thought about it and casually equipped a few damaged beam guns.

Soon, the operation began.

More than ten tree spirits hid behind the main force of the Tree Whisperers Alliance, carefully covering their faces.

Yate’s expression became more serious. He whispered, “Brother, wait and follow me. There are nine people on our team including you. We don’t have to rush to the front. The tree spirits will deal with the Federation. We’ll watch from the side and support them.”

“Mm, alright!”

According to the pre-set strategy, the Tree Whisperers Alliance and the rest walked directly toward the exit of the town.
