Chapter 159: Hiruzenâs Realization
Tsunade couldnât help but glare at Yuna when she realized that Yuna had all that blackmail material prepared beforehand. No matter how she looked at it, she didnât believe that Yuna predicted her request.
âWhen did you prepare all these scrolls, Yuna? You were obviously carrying them with you and were prepared for my request.â
Yuna nodded her head and confirmed Tsunadeâs guess.
âCorrect, I was carrying that stuff with me for a while now. As for the reasonâŠWell, over the years I have collected some information about pretty much everyone I deemed important. There are a lot of things that can be simplified with a healthy dose of blackmail, after all.â
Tsunade looked at Yuna in disbelief due to her ridiculous statement, while Hiruzen couldnât help but shudder in fear. No matter how he looked at it, there was no way Yuna didnât carry a scroll with his name on it with her. Although he never did anything that could be considered illegal, who knows what kind of dark secrets Yuna managed to dig up about him.
âSo, you are just casually carrying secret information about Konohaâs council members with you wherever you go?â
That was actually what bothered Tsunade the most. If this was actually the case, it would mean that Yuna was carrying around a massive amount of secrets with her, that could deal serious damage to Konoha if they were to be revealed.
âI wouldnât really call it âcasuallyâ. I, obviously, have them sealed away. If there was someone that could get their hands on the information inside that seal, then I donât think there would be anything that could stop that person anyway.â
âBesides that, arenât you misunderstanding something? I said â people I deemed importantâ, I never said anything about only having information about Konohaâs council in there. In fact, I didnât even specify that I only have information about Konohaâs citizens.â
While Tsunade was dumbfounded about what Yuna just said, Hiruzen slipped into deep thoughts. Yuna might have somewhat broken him a little, but that didnât mean that he had become stupid. As someone with the moniker of âThe Professorâ, he was very adept at piecing together complex puzzles. A frown appeared on Hiruzenâs face as he stood up and took one of the scrolls Yuna had just handed over to Tsunade.
The more he read, the deeper his frown became. His instincts were telling him, that he was overlooking something, but he wasnât sure what it was. After he finished reading through the first scroll, he picked up the next one and started reading that one as well.
Tsunade, meanwhile, managed to wake up from her stupor.
âIf you had all this information for such a long time, why do you only reveal it now? There is no way you did that just because you wanted to make me train someone in medical jutsu.â
âCorrect, again! The medical jutsu training was only something convenient that fit the situation well. Truth be told, if I hadnât found out about Karinâs talent a few weeks ago, I would have been satisfied with just making the mission count as more than one S-Rank mission. The real reason is, that I think you would react more decisively than Hiruzen when dealing with these people. They have been polluting Konoha with their existence for long enough, and it is time to get rid of them. Hiruzen has grown too soft to do something like that. No offense, old man.â
Hiruzen, however, seemed to have not even heard Yuna. He was still reading scroll after scroll with utmost concentration. Tsunade, meanwhile, had a deep frown on her face. She didnât plan to become some great Hokage that leads the village to glory or something like that, but that didnât mean she would calmly spectate as Konoha is being destroyed from the inside. Now, that she knew what was going on and knew about how the high-ranking people of Konoha are siphoning Konohaâs resources for their own benefits, she had to do something about it. Especially when Yuna had already prepared everything for her. At this point, Tsunade had conveniently forgotten that she was planning to do the same on a smaller scale.
Before Yuna and Tsunade could continue their conversation, Hiruzen slammed his hand on the table.
âARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, YUNA!?â
Although Yuna knew what Hiruzen meant, she only smiled at him innocently while tilting her head to the side.
âOh my, I wonder what you are talking about, old man?â
A shiver of terror went through his whole body when he saw Yunaâs innocent smile. He wanted to yell at her, but he suppressed it and instead opted for just glaring at her as hard as he could while clenching his fist hard enough to draw blood.
âThis madwoman! Does she want the whole Elemental Nation to declare war against the Uzumaki clan? After reading through most of these scrolls, I finally found out what was bothering me. Every single one of the photos inside the scrolls is taken at an important location. Usually, inside the personal office of the corresponding person.â
âYears ago, I might have assumed that someone with incredible stealth was responsible for taking these photos and not think about it too deeply, but after checking all the scrolls, I noticed that there would occasionally be photos with somewhat similar timestamps. Either, the people that were spying on these individuals were extremely lucky to always be in the right place when something illegal was happening, or they were under constant surveillance.â
âConsidering that Yuna claimed that she had information about more people, the second case should be very unlikely, but this is where the recent changes come in. What does someone do when he speaks about something he doesnât want someone else to know? Years ago, they would have simply positioned more guards, but nowadays, most people would simply activate their privacy seals. Where would they get these seals? Obviously, they would buy them from the Uzumaki clan, where they would only cost a fraction of what they had before the return of the Uzumaki clan.â
âIf it was someone else, I wouldnât believe for even a second that they had the guts to sell a privacy seal that had a monitoring mechanism build into it, but this is certainly something Yuna might do. No! What am I talking about? âMight doâ? There is no way she wouldnât do it! If this information gets out, Konoha might be done for, but considering Yunaâs ridiculously high level at sealing, that is very unlikely. In other words, the fewer people know about it the better.â
âWhat is wrong, sensei? What did Yuna do this time?â
Hiruzen woke up from his thoughts when he heard Tsunadeâs voice and quickly came up with an excuse. The secret that the Uzumaki clan had spread spy seals over the whole Elemental Nation is a secret he will take to his grave.
âSorry about that, Tsunade. I was just outraged that Yuna hasnât told me anything about these people. I mean, look at this one. He actually stole three percent of Konohaâs income. How could someone be so shameless as to steal money from the village they grew up in? People like that are true trash and, in my opinion, they shoulâŠâ
âYesyesyes, sensei. Trash, real trashâŠ*cough*âŠHow about you help me sort through all of this and help me come up with a plan about how we handle these people.â
A bright smile appeared on Hiruzenâs face when Tsunade asked him for help, while Tsunade couldnât help but blush a little while feeling guilty when she saw Hiruzenâs happy smile. Both of them had the same thoughts.
âGood, I managed to change the topic to stop him/her from asking any questions.â
Yuna, meanwhile, wasnât entirely sure what do to. It seems like Hiruzen and Tsunade have both forgotten about her while happily creating a plan on how to deal with the council members.
âWell, I guess I will just leave?â
[Might as well. I think you have done enough damage for one day.]
âI donât know, I feel like I am forgetting something important.â
[Considering it is you, I somewhat doubt that it actually is important.]
â*Cough* I have no idea what you are talking about. Besides that, I remember what I was missing. Just look at how much concentration these two are putting into their work. They are missing a healthy dose of sugar, to keep their brain activities going, donât you think?â
[So in the end it comes down to that, huh?]
Without another word, Yuna vanished from the room, and seconds laterâŠ
*SPLAT**SPLAT*
âŠa cake smashed into Tsunadeâs and Hiruzenâs faces. At first, the room remained quiet, but moments later, Tsunade stood up with fury clearly visible in her eyes.
âTHAT DAMN BRAT IS ASKING FOR BEATING!!!â
While Tsunade seemed to be moments away from hunting down Yuna, Hiruzen casually swiped a finger through the cake in his face and gave it a lick.
âMhh, walnuts? How unusual, but nonetheless pretty tasty.â
