Chapter 202 â Soul Preservation and the Shadowbound Mission
Noah lay sprawled on his massive bedâpure white, like everything in this roomâand stared quietly at the ceiling above him.
He had just finished his ascension to SSS Rank, and to say there was a difference between SS and SSS would be... an understatement.
The difference was massive.
Right now, Noah felt like he couldâve handled all the champions from before in under ten secondsâwith just his Domain.
Yes... his Domain was truly unfair.
Well, like most things about Noah, really.
Domain: The Genesis.
A simple name. A loaded meaning, as it also means,
The Beginning.
And it fit. Perfectly.
His Domain was tricky to understand unless you experienced it. It wasnât just a passive field or a manifestation of his will.
Noâit was a living law.
Inside his Domain, anything he believed became. Anything he didnât wish to exist will not exist inside it. Anything he named, would gain the attributes of that name.
And more than anythingâ
The Domain affected reality itself.
It was that powerful.
The more Noah thought about it, the more satisfied he felt.
He smiled faintly. "The Genesis, huh? Thatâs a pretty cool name," he muttered, pleased, sitting up slowly in the middle of his gigantic bed.
But he had no time to bask in his breakthrough.
He had promised something.
He had told themâhis peopleâthat he would create Talents. Unique ones. Preferably something that could save them when shit went bad.
And now it was time to deliver.
He tilted his head and began to thinkâhis mind racing with designs, concepts, formulas, and fragments of imagined abilities.
Eventually, one stood out.
Something simple, but vital.
"Beings donât truly die unless their soul is destroyed. If I can protect their souls... even if they lose everything else, theyâll survive."
Heâd anchor their souls to himself.
So even if they died, he could pull them backârevive them fast.
It was risky, of course. Their connection to him could be used to trace their location. But he wasnât about to let his subordinates die because he wanted to play it safe.
He exhaled slowly.
"Then itâs decided. The Talent will be called... Soulâs Preservation."
He took a moment to ground himself. The creation of a Talent wasnât just about skill. It required intent, focus, mental clarity. And with the Record Affinity burning inside him now, it would be easierâstronger.
And the stronger his affinity grew...
The more terrifying things he would eventually be able to create.
He wondered when will he able to elevate it.
He smiled again.
Then got to work.
...
Time passed in a blur.
Five days inside the realm vanished like smoke.
And now, inside the White Castleâs meeting room, Noah sat calmly on his pristine throneâdraped in a magnificent white robe, golden thread weaving across its surface like lightning. On his chest was the crest of their family: a sky filled with white stars, each one unique in its shade.
Before him stood four figuresâEric, Shadeva, Sari, and Ester.
The infiltration team.
Their Talents had already been awakened.
And the mission was set.
"Youâre ready," Noah said, his voice composed, measured. "You have everything you need to infiltrate the Shadow Realm. And when the time comesâwhen we move against Shadevaâs siblingsâyouâll be the ones whoâve laid the groundwork."
He paused.
Then looked at each of themâhis runic white eyes calm but sharp.
"I donât need to tell you to be careful. Youâre not children. But still..."
His voice dropped slightly, softer.
"Donât die on me."
Ester and Eric smiled.
Shadeva gave a small nod.
Sari, ever the enigmaâthe Forgotten Oneâsimply nodded, her expression unreadable as always.
Without another word, the four vanishedâteleported directly to the Shadow Realm, where their mission would begin.
Noah remained where he was, head resting against his right palm, legs crossed, eyes half-lidded.
His expression had shifted again... back to something pensive.
âWhat are you thinking, Master?â Leona asked from within his mind.
Noah smiled faintly.
"About Luminara, Christelle... and Emily."
"Theyâve been with me a long time. Especially Luminara. So I was wonderingâshould I start transforming them into Elysiar... or wait a bit longer to see more of their resolve?"
He explained it calmlyânot just to Leona, but to all the others. After all, they could all hear him.
âEven Christelle? Is she worthy?â Nephis asked, genuinely confused. To her, Christelleâs body had been used again and again. She had assumed such a woman would be unworthy of their Master.
"In fact," Noah said with a quiet smirk, "she has the highest chance of being transformed."
"And Nephisâdonât judge people by their past. People can change. And Christelle is changing. You just donât see it, because you hardly speak to her."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"You all saw what she did when I killed her son."
"She didnât blink."
Noahâs smile deepenedâtwisted, sharp.
"Thatâs what I want. From my women. From everyone close to me."
Pure, unwavering dedication.
â
Inside the Lotus Garden, all the maids were sitting in unique, personalized lotuses. A still beauty surrounded them.
Nephis and Leona smiled as they heard Noahâs words.
And then, in perfect harmony, they both spoke:
"We are devoted to you, Master."
Their voices were full of sincerity. And Noah could feel it.
He nodded, pleased.
But others...
Morgan. Katy. Sonomi.
They stayed quiet.
Their expressions were a little awkward.
They could feel Nephis and Leonaâs eyes on themâbut they didnât flinch.
It wasnât that they werenât loyal.
They were, in a sense.
But only because of Noahâs power. Because he could help them.
Not because they had given their hearts, their souls, their will to him.
Not yet.
Because dedication is something else entirely.
Itâs when you serve without expecting reward.
When you give everythingâjust to satisfy him.
And they werenât at that level.
Nephis and Leona knew it.
And Noah knew too.
But he didnât mind.
Not yet.
âEverything will fall into place with time.â Noah thought silently. âAnd if they donât change...â
He smiled.
âWell, taking back what I gave is easy.â
He closed his eyes.
The infiltration team was gone.
Now, all that remained was to integrate Laehâs core fully into his realm and...
Noahâs smirk turned downright wicked.
âTime to fuck my dear women.â
After all, it was a way to be stronger too.
