Chapter 311 â Jolie CĆur Noah [2]
Relief...
Thatâs what Noah was feeling at that moment. Well, not only thatâbut this was the kind of feeling that almost made him shed tears. Because you do not know how taxing it is on the mind to bear the guilt of being the cause of the suffering of your loved ones.
Can you imagine that?
Your mother falling into depression... because of you?
Your father waking up every morning feeling like life wasnât worth sacrificing his health for... because of you?
Your brother, your sister, giving up on life... because of you?
Or even... your girlfriend getting raped... because of you?
Thatâs the kind of feeling that can drown you in madness and depression. Because seeing your loved ones suffer is already hard enough, but being the cause of it... thatâs worse.
So thatâs why, when Sari said those wordsâthe words that declared Noah wasnât the one responsibleâand especially at the end, when she confessed her love to him, Noah couldnât help but feel a surge of love and relief wash over him in cascading waves.
And so, he almost cried.
Almost.
He didnât... but he was very close to that point. And he couldnât help but wonder since when he had become such a jolie cĆur. He didnât remember ever crying when one of his women confessed their love to him, so why now?
Noah, for the sake of his dignity, blamed the forlorn atmosphere around the room at that time.
Yes, it was definitely not the fact that he had a serious weak point for Sari. No!
âDefinitely not!â Noah thought firmly as he sat on the ground, his back against the bed with Sari beside him, her head resting softly on his shoulder.
Her eyes were closed, and her expression was filled with bliss and contentmentâjust like how youâd feel when you finally obtain what you have longed for, obsessed over, and dreamed about for so long. It was a mystical feeling.
So, she stayed there, enjoying the sensation of being close to the one she loved the most.
And at that thought... her brain paused.
âLoved the most? I love my daughter more!â Sari said strongly in her mind, only for a second later...
â...I mean, yes? I love her more, right? Sheâs my daughter, after all... right?â She didnât know who she was asking all these questions to, but doubt had started to crawl into her thoughts as she seriously took the time to weigh the feelings she held for both of them.
It was truly a weirdâbut funnyâscene.
Her eyes remained closed, but her face was frowning, and she was making facial expressions too strange and cute as she debated in her mind which one she loved more.
Noah heard her mumblings, glanced at her, and nearly burst out laughingânot only because of how funny it was, but because it was extremely cute.
Sari was such an angel. Her cuteness, shyness, and quiet timidity put her in a category of her own.
And for such a cute being, Noah simply couldnât help himself...he wanted to tease her.
So slowly and extremely discreetly, he took out his photo artifact and started snapping pictures of her with such stealth that most assassins in the universe would bow to him in reverence just to learn his techniques.
Without realizing it, he had just invented a new technique, a divine method created solely for taking pictures of the funny expressions, strange faces, or amusing moments of his family.
âI will collect all of them,â he said to himself with a happy and beaming voice inside his head. In that moment, he was nothing like Noah Vaelgrim, the Blasphemer of Reality. No... not at all.
He was simply a loving husband and a loving father combined.
After finishing his collection of stolen photos, Noah finally spoke to Sari.
"Why are you making such a funny face?" he asked, his tone laced with joy and sweetnessâbut it made Sari jolt in surprise and instinctively...
"I love who more?" she asked without thinking, all because the question had been seriously bothering her.
Not because she didnât know the answer... but because she refused to admit it to herself.
Noah was kind of confused by her question, so he slowly tilted his head slightly to the left, his face frowning in a way that was both curious and beautifully mischievous.
"Pardon?" he said, his voice so soft it should be considered illegal.
But the most illegal thing... was his beauty. And as Sari looked at him, she couldnât help but admit to herself:
âI love him more...â
And she didnât feel guilty about the thought, because she knew very well that her daughter also loved Noah more.
So... it was fair.
Wasnât that beautiful?
A mother and daughter loving a man more than they loved themselves. That didnât mean they loved each other any less, no... not at all.
Sari and Ester were still very close. They loved each other deeply as mother and daughter. But their love for Noah?
It was different.
It was deep. It was encompassing. And it was... taboo. And as you know, everything taboo hits deeper than most things in life.
Because itâs a break from normalcy, a break from routine. Itâs choosing what you want to choose, and doing it without care, without worry about the society that would definitely scorn you.
And thatâs exactly why...
âItâs so liberating...â she added blissfully in her mind.
Noah, meanwhile, was watching Sariâs dazed expression as she stared at him and he couldnât help but wear a teasing smile on his lips.
"Are you thanking the dead gods or whatever eldritch beings are out there for making me your man?" he asked with a smirk.
His words made Sari snap back to reality, and as a smile crept onto her rosy lipsâjust from hearing Noah say he was her manâshe replied.
"If I were to ever pray one day, Iâd pray to you." She said as her smile bloomed brighter.
"Isnât it wonderful? Youâre my young master, my man, my master, my obsession and... my god."
She leaned in, her face stopping just when their breaths started to dance together, hot and sensual.
"Youâre all for me... except one thing, my dear god." Sari said, her voice as sweet as aged wine.
"And... whatâs that?" Noah asked, his eyes fixed on her lips with desire.
Then she smiled widely, showing her full white teeth that glowed like stars.
"Isnât it obvious, my love?"
"Of course, Iâm talking about... the father of my children."
"How about we change that?"
Shy and timid Sari?
âSHE WAS A TRAP!!!â Noah basically screamed inside his mind.
