Kyle was glad things were going well because Cassandra was more open to this than he expected.
He thought she had established a life for herself there, but either way, things were working out in his favour nonetheless.
She couldnāt move right in, and the house was way too big for her alone ā not to mention the furniture hadnāt been moved.
Still, Kyle had done what he planned to do, and with Justin out of the way, she was all his.
There was no other factor that would come into play that could sway her away from him.
Kyle knew this was just the beginning because it would probably be the last time he had this much free time on his hands. With more responsibilities approaching and more women entering the picture, his days of relative peace were numbered.
"Kyle, Iām not going to be the only one living here, am I?" Cassandra questioned as she looked around the house, her voice calm but curious.
"That is correct. You are not the only woman I have grown fond of, and I wish for you all to get along," Kyle said, despite understanding how women got in such situations.
It wasnāt easy to explain this lifestyle to everyone. Most people frowned upon it or dismissed it as unrealistic. But Cassandra seemed to understand him more than others did.
"Oh, I see. I cannot wait to meet them," Cassandra responded, but she didnāt sound anxious or insecure.
"You are?" Kyle asked with a raised brow, intrigued by her reaction. Women tend to be possessive, even when they agree to share a man. He wasnāt expecting this kind of composure from her.
"I am. I have been worried about everything in my life until now, and I realized my son would be better off if he had more women to take care of him," Cassandra said ā and this brought a smile to his face. It showed she had really listened to him, considered his ideals, and internalized them.
"Iām glad to hear that," Kyle said, but this was one out of three dominos that needed to fall before things truly settled.
Kyle got a call from Jane shortly after and raised a finger to excuse himself.
"Hey, you..." Kyle began the conversation, but he noticed Jane was a lot more hesitant than usual. Her voice carried a tension he wasnāt used to.
There was hesitation in her voice like she was trying to muster up the courage to say something sheād been bottling up for a while.
"Is something wrong?" Kyle asked, his tone softening. He was genuinely curious now.
[[C-Can we meet?]] Jane requested after a long pause.
"Can it wait until I return? Iām occupied right now," Kyle informed her gently.
[[I-Is it that woman?]] Jane asked, and without hesitation, Kyle responded.
"Yes, it is," he said, knowing transparency was something he needed to grant her. It was the least he could do after everything theyād been through.
There was silence on the line after that. He could sense her wrestling with emotions.
"Is this why you want to see me?" Kyle asked, already knowing the answer.
[[It is.]] Jane finally responded, sounding somewhat annoyed ā but this only brought a grin to Kyleās face.
"Jane, can I come pick you up right now? I have something to show you," Kyle offered, surprising even himself with how quickly he was changing course.
It was unexpected, especially since heād just told her he was busy, but the thought of leaving Cassandra to go see her boosted Janeās ego ā even if she wasnāt fully aware of that.
Besides, she wanted to talk to him, so this worked out either way. The conversation ended soon after that, but the weight of it lingered.
"Jane! What have you done?!" Jane blurted out the moment the call ended. She looked completely panicked, unable to believe she had actually asked him to come over.
She paced around the room, wondering what she was going to say to him. She ran multiple simulations in her mind, rehearsing how the conversation might go.
But she couldnāt chicken out of this decision. Not again. She had done that too many times before.
She wanted a relationship with Kyle, and while he gave her the freedom to walk away, that didnāt mean she had to accept everything handed to her without question.
And just like he had given her an ultimatum, she realized she had every right to do the same.
Jane had to be strong and stand for something. This was the resolve that allowed her to mentally prepare herself for what was to come.
Jasmine was still an unknown factor in the house, but she wasnāt alone ā Aiysha was watching over her.
"How did it go?" Aiysha asked, implying she already knew what Jane had done.
Aiysha was a married woman, and it was no surprise Jane trusted her judgment when it came to relationships.
Aiysha had a successful marriage to boast about and had become somewhat of a mentor to Jane.
She normally didnāt talk about her problems, nor did she ever pry into othersā relationships, but she made an exception for Jane ā offering advice when needed.
They were speaking in general when Jane used the famous line most people use when they need guidance ā asking in the third person.
Jane wasnāt comfortable with Kyleās relationships. Even if she couldnāt have him all to herself, there had to be an arrangement that kept everyone content.
This goes without question because it was still a relationship where her emotional needs needed to be met.
"Do you want me to go?" Aiysha offered gently. She was unaware of the full polygamous nature of Janeās relationship, but she knew enough to understand Kyle was bringing in more women.
However, it wasnāt her place to intrude on his private life, especially since she felt like she was already walking on thin ice around him.
It had also been a while since sheād seen Kyle in the gym, and she hoped it wasnāt because of Tasha.
Kyle came back a couple of hours later, and Jane was anxiously waiting for him like a child waiting to be scolded and hugged all at once.
She took a deep breath and walked to the door to greet him, but to her surprise, he wasnāt alone.
Kyle had returned with Cassandra, which completely threw Jane off. All the lines sheād rehearsed in her mind vanished.
Aiysha had left soon after the call ended, so Jane had plenty of time to stew in her thoughts ā but none of that helped now.
"Hello, princess," Kyle said softly, and Cassandraās eyes flicked toward him. The tone in which he said those words caught her off guard ā she hadnāt heard him speak like that before.
Jane immediately flushed. It was the first time he had called her that in front of someone else.
Cassandra could instantly tell ā this was the woman who truly held his heart. There was no mistaking it.
"Cassy, meet the woman who my heart belongs to," Kyle said, and Janeās face turned an even deeper shade of red.
"Nice to meet you," Cassandra said warmly, stretching forth her hand. But as she moved, her breasts jiggled all over the place, unintentionally captivating Jane.
Janeās eyes widened, and before she could stop herself, the words slipped out.
"Wow, they are so big..." Jane muttered under her breath, then instantly clamped her mouth shut, horrified sheād said that aloud.
There was a pause, a brief moment of stunned silence before Cassandra giggled. That giggle soon blossomed into laughter.
She didnāt take offence. Instead, she saw something endearing in Janeās reaction.
And in that moment, Cassandra understood why Kyle would give his heart to this girl before her.
There was something genuine, innocent, and completely honest about Jane ā the kind of honesty that didnāt try to manipulate or control.
It was simply... real.
The friendly exchange ended on the positive and Jane could tell the woman before her was mature with the way she carried herself but this didnāt answer her question on what their relationship was.
The fact that Kyle brought her to his home showed she was someone he held to a certain degree.
Jane remembered this was an important point in their relationship and couldnāt succumb to the pressure.
"Um... Can I talk to you alone?" Jane requested, eyes to the ground and Kyle was quick to excuse himself politely.
He went into the other room with her and the air immediately shifted. Kyle immediately knew what this conversation was about.
