The Baiman Immortal Monarch quickly arrived at the Wind Control Hall. As soon as he got there, he saw the Sect Masters from other sects staring at him angrily.
Cold sweat instantly appeared on the Baiman Immortal Monarchâs forehead. He cursed in his heart, damn it, donât let me find out whoâs spreading rumors behind my back!
This news spreading in such a short time must be because a sect at the frontlines discovered his lack of effort and felt unbalanced, so they spread such rumors.
Although the Baiman Sect has already allied with the Blood Eagle Hall, itâs impossible that only a few disciples died. Heâs no fool; anyone can see that thereâs a problem with just a few casualties, clearly the rumor spreader exaggerated on purpose.
Of course, compared to other sects, the Baiman Sect did lose fewer people, and those from the Baiman Sect who died were all ordinary disciples.
Quickly calming his anxiety, the Baiman Immortal Monarch smiled and asked, "Weixue Immortal Monarch, what is the reason for calling me here?"
Before the Weixue Immortal Monarch could respond, the Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch spoke up, "Baiman Immortal Monarch, Iâve heard that the Baiman Sect is quite powerful. But with the war raging on, only a few from your sect have perished."
Upon hearing this, the Baiman Immortal Monarch immediately responded sternly, "Rumors, these are all rumors. Those are ruthless Evil Immortals; how could the Baiman Sect have lost only a few people? It must be someone spreading falsehoods to frame us."
At this moment, another sectâs Sect Master said, "Rumors? I doubt that. My sect is closest to the Baiman Sectâs camp, and every time I return, I hear our disciples say that your camp is lively with song and dance, certainly not looking like itâs at war."
The cultivators of the Baiman Sect are mostly men, and almost all follow the path of Body Refinement. Their physiques are strong, their vitality is vigorous, and their energy is abundant. Typically, such people would vent energy through combat.
Of course, thereâs another way to vent energy, which is finding some female cultivators. For these immortals, just one word can turn countless female cultivators into their female slaves.
In theory, this war was the best opportunity for the Baiman Sect disciples to vent their energy. If they really participated in this war, they wouldnât need any womanâs help.
Apparently, theyâve been staying in camp without engaging in any battles, leading to such repression, choosing instead to spend energy on those female cultivators.
After hearing the Sect Masterâs words, the Baiman Immortal Monarch darkened. He had already told the sect disciples to keep a low profile, but those fools not only failed to do so but even brought many female cultivators to the camp, spending their days indulging in revelry. Not being discovered would be bizarre.
Just as the Baiman Immortal Monarch wanted to continue arguing, the Weixue Immortal Monarch spoke, "Sect Master of Baiman, after discussing among the Sect Masters, we made a decision."
"When launching a full-scale attack, the Baiman Sect will be the vanguard."
The Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch then smiled at the Baiman Immortal Monarch and said, "Baiman Immortal Monarch, this is a great opportunity for meritorious achievement; your sect should cherish it."
Hearing their words, the Baiman Immortal Monarchâs expression turned even gloomier. He had planned to ambush the Mysterious Moon Palace, but now they assigned him as the vanguardâhow could he ambush them now?
If they were the vanguard, they might trigger some terrifying formations, and once the Mysterious Moon Palace learned that he had betrayed them, theyâd eliminate them directly.
After all, they are the vanguard, right on the attack route of the Mysterious Moon Palace.
The Baiman Immortal Monarch wanted to say something, but upon seeing the Sect Masters staring directly at him, he knew he couldnât evade it, so he had no choice but to say, "Yes, obeying the orders of the Upper Sect."
Since the Weixue Immortal Monarch had spoken, it was meaningless to say more; military orders are unwavering, and the Sect Masters clearly wouldnât permit them to shirk.
The Weixue Immortal Monarch continued, "Okay, thatâs it for this matter. Do any of you have other concerns? If not, letâs start discussing attacking the Jade Dragon Sect."
Afterward, the Weixue Immortal Monarch began arranging the preparations, and the Baiman Immortal Monarch listened carefully throughout, thinking to himself that he would never act as the vanguard.
After the strategy meeting, he would immediately tell the Jade Dragon Sect about the deployment of the Mysterious Moon Palace, then, on the day of the full-scale war, he would lead the Baiman Sect disciples to surrender to the Blood Eagle Hall.
Soon, the war meeting ended.
Upon learning about the Weixue Immortal Monarchâs strategy, Lu Chen thought to himself that the Mysterious Moon Palaceâs women truly were extraordinary. Announcing the Baiman Sect as the vanguard under conditions of dissatisfaction from other sectsâthis way, the Baiman Immortal Monarch wouldnât realize he had already been exposed.
The Baiman Sect is a bunch of Body Refinement enthusiasts without much intellect. Even if they were tricked, they might not realize it. Next, the Baiman Sect would secretly prepare to head to the Jade Dragon Sect or start cooperating with the Evil Immortals of the Blood Eagle Hall, allowing the Mysterious Moon Palace to rightfully eliminate the Baiman Sect.
Meanwhile, in a room in the Wind Control Hall.
The Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch stood before the Weixue Immortal Monarch, puzzled, asking, "Weixue, did you summon me for something urgent?"
Even in the Immortal World, between couples, importance is recognized beyond romance. Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch knew Weixue called him at this time must be for something important.
The Weixue Immortal Monarch directly stated, "I suspect the Baiman Sect has defected."
Hearing this, the Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch was slightly taken aback.
After a while, he reacted, then chuckled, "Iâm not surprised one bit; such a huge war, other sects have lost tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of lives, yet their sect lost so fewâIâve long suspected somethingâs up."
The Weixue Immortal Monarch continued, "This time, making the Baiman Sect the vanguard, once the Baiman Immortal Monarch returns, he will surely take action."
The Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch pondered briefly and then said, "Iâll keep a close watch on them. Should they act, Iâll eliminate them immediately."
Compared to the Baiman Sect, the Xuan Fox Sect is stronger. Despite losing nearly a hundred thousand in this war, their sectâs foundation is profound enough to withstand such losses.
The Weixue Immortal Monarch said, "Thank you for your trouble then."
The Xuan Fox Immortal Monarch replied, "Between us, thereâs no need for politeness. Besides, the Xuan Fox Sect is an Affiliated Sect to the Mysterious Moon Palace; this is what we should do."
The Weixue Immortal Monarch gave a slight smile, saying nothing more.
Meanwhile.
After returning to the Baiman Sectâs camp, the Baiman Immortal Monarch immediately gathered the elders to discuss what to do next.
Upon hearing that they were to be the vanguard, the elders of the Baiman Sect were all immensely furious.
