It snowed in the Federation that day.
The temperature was low. Jiang Qiuqiu wore her newly bought padded jacket, its polar fleece insulating her from the cold wind as she set off for her second-round test at Federation University.
Mo Si went with her.
Jiang Qiuqiu was still a bit nervous when she left, but after she entered Federation University, all that tension seemed to melt away.
Due to access restrictions, Mo Si couldnāt enter the testing area, so Jiang Qiuqiu went in alone.
She didnāt run into the teacher from her first interview. Instead, she met a female teacher with a sharp, confident style.
"Name, Jiang... Qiuqiu? A-level growth spiritual power, ID *****?"
"Thatās me."
"Come on over, the test is about to start." The female teacher glanced at her.
Jiang Qiuqiu sat down, and someone across from her handed her a helmet. The moment she put it on, she was completely immersed in a bizarre, fantastical world.
The second-round test was complex. It included familiar spiritual power challenges, practical spiritual power combat, and even Mecha combat.
This test took longer than the last one. After about an hour, the teacher led Jiang Qiuqiu to a more sophisticated room and tested her spiritual power.
Federation University doesnāt like to keep people hanging; applicants are notified on the spot whether theyāve passed the second-round test.
The teacher pushed the application form across the table to Jiang Qiuqiu. "Youāve passed the test. You are now officially a student at Federation University."
"Based on your aptitude tests, we believe you are suited for either the Spirit Healing Department or the Mecha Single Soldier System. Please complete your information on the universityās official website by December 17. You can report to Federation University for the start of the semester on January 13 of the following year."
āI passed!ā
She had expected it, but having it officially confirmed still filled her with immense joy. Jiang Qiuqiu put the application form away, stood up, and thanked the teacher. "I understand! Iāll be sure to fill out the form on time!"
"Mm."
āShe looks even younger and cuter in person than she does in her videos,ā the teacher thought.
"So, maāam, may I go now?"
"Hold on a second." The teacher cleared her throat lightly. "Add my terminal ID before you leave."
"Oh, okay." Jiang Qiuqiu dutifully added the teacherās contact, then left with a cheerful spring in her step.
As she neared the entrance, she spotted a familiar figure in the distance and waved. "Black Hole!"
The man looked up. They were too far apart for Jiang Qiuqiu to make out his expression, but she saw him turn and start walking toward her.
As he got closer, he didnāt ask whether sheād passed. He only asked, "You must have piloted a Mecha during the test. How was it? Have you decided on a major?"
"Are you that confident in me?" Jiang Qiuqiu asked curiously. "Youāre not even asking if I passed?"
"You were sure to pass," Mo Si told Jiang Qiuqiu. "You lack neither talent nor diligence." She was the kind of person who was in control of her own destiny.
"They did give me major recommendations, and I got to pilot a Mecha for a bit." Unfortunately, the time was too short for her to get a real feel for it.
As for the Spirit Healing Departmentā
"I donāt think Iāve ever actually healed anyone; Iāve never experienced what thatās like." Jiang Qiuqiu sounded conflicted. "The only thing Iāve seen is the way Grandma Aiāer treats people."
"I donāt think Iām really suited for that kind of work, which requires a lot of patience and attention to detail."
Mo Si was bewildered by her statement.
āDoes Qiuqiu have the wrong idea about herself?ā
"You donāt think youāve ever healed anyone?"
"...What?" Seeing the look on Mo Siās face, Jiang Qiuqiu found it amusing. She retorted, "Have I ever healed anyone?"
