Jiang Qiuqiu looked at him, too.
This was the first time she had seen Mo Si in a sea-blue military uniform. The highly saturated color made his skin seem fairer and his eyes deeper. Perhaps due to a lack of sleep, there were faint dark circles around his eyes.
The slight haggardness diminished much of the âyouthful and softâ feeling about him, replacing it with a sharper aura.
"Are your meetings over?"
"Theyâre over." Mo Si hummed in affirmation. "I was in meetings the whole time and didnât see your message. I only saw it when I got back."
"Oh, wellâ"
"Why werenât you asleep so late?" Mo Si looked at her, his brow furrowing slightly. "It was 2 AM, and you still werenât resting?"
"..."
"Didnât your companyâs annual party end at eleven yesterday?" he asked. "What were you doing so late, Qiuqiu?"
Even if Jiang Qiuqiu wracked her brain, she never would have imagined that sheâd end up feeling like the villain twice in a single day.
"I had something to take care of at the hotel after the party ended." Jiang Qiuqiu explained in a bit more detail. "I owed someone a meal, so I just went ahead and made it. It ended up being a little late."
"Was it that man you walked the red carpet with?"
"Ah, yes, it was him."
Mo Si hummed. "Did you meet him recently? I donât think Iâve heard you mention him before."
"I met him during the competition. Weâre not very familiar with each other, I just owed him a favor, so I repaid him with a meal."
"I was originally going to take care of it this morning, but I wanted to come back early... to prepare for tomorrowâs stream, so I just got it done last night."
She noticed that after she said this, the man on the sofa visibly brightened.
The topic finally moved on from Chen Yu, and the two started talking about other things.
Jiang Qiuqiu asked if the little robot Mo Si had sent her projected the river of stars from Polar Star. Mo Si nodded. "Itâs the same stretch of stars you saw that night."
"Itâs beautiful."
"Iâm glad you like it." This was a gift Mo Si had put a lot of thought into choosing.
After they finished talking about the gift, Jiang Qiuqiu started telling him about what had happened recently. She talked about the Federationâs annual competition, how Mrs. Aiâer had helped her connect with a few generals, the âtofu warâ that Wanxing had started, and a few other things that had happened on the Star Network.
Mo Si had already seen many of these stories on the network and in the media. But hearing the same things shared by the person who experienced them firsthand felt completely different.
This caused a single sentence to echo in Mo Siâs mind: âSheâs sharing her life with me.â
Mo Siâs gaze on Jiang Qiuqiu grew even softer.
"And thatâs about it!"
"It sounds like your life has been very exciting lately, Qiuqiu."
"It has been." Jiang Qiuqiu laughed. "Every day is very fulfilling. What about you? Are you on patrol every day?"
"Not exactly." Mo Si thought back on his life recently; it wasnât much different from before. "Most of the time Iâm on patrol, and occasionally Iâll participate in competitions within the militaryâ"
"You compete in them, too?" Jiang Qiuqiuâs eyes were filled with curiosity.
Mo Si paused for a moment. "Mm, not usually."
"Oh?"
He was a steady person, but sometimes, in front of Qiuqiu, he couldnât help but let some of his youthful edge and sharpness show. "Because if I enter, the match is over."
Overwhelming confidence radiated from him. Jiang Qiuqiu asked playfully, "Does that mean you win the moment you enter, or you lose?"
"I win."
"Just like you. I win often."

Mo Chengyu, who was eavesdropping while holding a case of Spirit Nourishing Liquid, drew in a sharp breath when she heard that line. She beckoned to Zuo Kai.
Zuo Kai walked over. Mo Chengyu stood on her tiptoes and whispered in his ear, "Do all you male animals love to show off like this when youâre courting someone? Haha."
Because she was still holding the case, Mo Chengyu had to lean halfway against Zuo Kai to get close. The soft sound of her voice by his ear made him unconsciously tense up.
"Why arenât you saying anything?"
"Perhaps." After all, itâs human nature to be drawn to strength.
"Looks like theyâre going to be talking for a while longer. Letâs go for another walk and come back later."
"Okay."
