“Uncle Lin, it’s okay. I accidentally knocked over the wardrobe while playing with Jackson. We’re fine, don’t worry,” Tom explained quickly as he saw Lin Hai heading upstairs.

“The wardrobe fell over? You guys didn’t fight, did you?” Hearing Tom’s explanation, Lin Hai slowed his steps and asked skeptically.

Although boys often play around and roughhouse, knocking over a wardrobe was no ordinary play. Judging from their body sizes, Tom was much stronger and more muscular than Lin Rui, making Lin Hai somewhat worried about his son. Thus, he didn’t stop his steps.

“Dad! It’s okay, Tom and I were really just playing. I’ve already propped the wardrobe back up!” Just as Tom anxiously watched Lin Hai come up step by step, Lin Rui’s voice came from his room, confirming that everything was indeed fine.

“Alright then, I won’t disturb you two young men playing! Just be careful and don’t break anything again!” Upon hearing his son’s words, Lin Hai finally felt relieved. He gave this reminder before turning around and heading downstairs.

Seeing Lin Hai turn around and head downstairs, Tom, who was leaning against the staircase with his head sticking out, heaved a long sigh of relief. He then placed his hand over his chest, slowly crouching down, his face showing a slight expression of pain.

After crouching on the staircase for a few seconds, Tom slowly stood up and then walked toward Lin Rui’s room. However, this time, Tom’s steps were genuinely cautious and careful, as if Lin Rui’s room concealed some enormous danger.

“Jackson?” Standing at the doorway of Lin Rui’s room, Tom cautiously called out.

Although Lin Rui’s voice had clearly come from inside the room just now, there was now no sound. Moreover, there was an overwhelming force emanating from Lin Rui’s room, a force that Lin Rui couldn’t possibly be unaware of.
