Chapter 1288: Request

T’Challa and Shuri weren’t particularly surprised by Lin Rui’s response and his subsequent request. After all, they had reached this point in the conversation, and Lin Rui’s hidden identity had been firmly established. So, at this point, Lin Rui naturally needed to fulfill his role as a diplomat.

After a brief moment of contemplation, T’Challa agreed to Lin Rui’s request.

Since the Royal Guard of Wakanda had already been dispatched and was currently in direct communication with Captain America, Steve Rogers, at SHIELD headquarters, they were in a position to accommodate the request of this young, non-combatant individual sent by the other side.

“Alright, in that case, Shuri, it’s up to you to answer Jackson’s questions as he learns about Wakanda. Jackson, you’re in Shuri’s capable hands now. Mother is getting anxious, and I need to go explain the situation to her,” T’Challa said, agreeing to Lin Rui’s request before his Kimoyo Beads vibrated rapidly on his wrist for a moment. He then turned to Shuri.

“What? Why me? I can explain things to Mother too!” Shuri responded with a hint of dissatisfaction upon hearing her brother’s decision.

With an exhale, T’Challa rose from his seat upon Shuri’s inquiry. “It’s not just Mother; several tribal elders are involved as well. I’ve dispatched the Royal Guard for an urgent Quest, and they will naturally want to inquire about it. If you want to go too, you can handle those tribal elders as well.”

“Uh… in that case, I’ll take them around outside,” Shuri quickly changed her stance upon hearing about the tribal elders’ involvement.

“Jackson, Bucky, you can go out with Shuri. Staying cooped up in this lab isn’t conducive to cross-cultural exchange,” T’Challa said his goodbyes to Lin Rui and Bucky before leaving.

“Well, thank you, Your Majesty,” Lin Rui said sincerely as he watched T’Challa leave.

Lin Rui’s words came straight from his heart. Initially, he hadn’t expected his mission to Wakanda to progress so smoothly. To be honest, Lin Rui didn’t have a concrete plan to begin with.

He had merely left a potential plotline that might not have amounted to anything if Bucky hadn’t successfully befriended T’Challa. At the time, Lin Rui thought that if Bucky couldn’t establish a connection, he wouldn’t be able to enter the real Wakanda.

However, even if Bucky had managed to establish a connection, it was more likely that Wakanda would have harbored suspicions rather than trust, especially towards the person behind Bucky.

Yet, Lin Rui hadn’t anticipated that, upon learning some of the truth, T’Challa would make the decisive choice to trust him. Furthermore, T’Challa had promptly dispatched the Royal Guard to suppress the armed intruders.

As a result, Wakanda had effectively revealed itself to SHIELD. However, as of now, T’Challa was still unaware that SHIELD initially had no knowledge of the true Wakanda’s existence, and everything had been fabricated by this young man’s clever words.

“Well, all these matters can be discussed later. Even if I support contact with SHIELD now, it doesn’t necessarily mean Wakanda has to return to Earth,” Lin Rui replied. After all, with Wakanda’s technology, they could travel between the two dimensions at will.

Lin Rui’s main goal was to establish contact between Wakanda and the outside world and secure a portion of Vibranium and technology to support scientific development within the Earth Alliance.

Since T’Challa had already dispatched the Royal Guard, part of Lin Rui’s objective had been achieved. Lin Rui had conveyed the situation in Wakanda to Captain America, Steve Rogers. Now, the next steps couldn’t be accomplished by Lin Rui alone.

Following this, T’Challa quickly left the lab. It seemed that the information about dispatching the Royal Guard to interact with SHIELD had reached the tribal elders. Thus, they naturally wanted to discuss it with T’Challa, the new king.

“Come on, weren’t you here to learn about the real Wakanda? Let’s go. Or do you want to sneakily study our technology in the lab?” Shuri quipped as she looked at Lin Rui, whose gaze seemed to be wandering.

Only half a day had passed, and Shuri’s perception of this youngster, who was slightly younger than herself, had changed multiple times. It was mainly due to the rapid transformation of Lin Rui’s identity during this half-day period.

He had gone from being a simpleton to a somewhat talented mercenary’s son and then to one of America’s foremost young geniuses. Finally, he was revealed to be a secret agent from SHIELD. Shuri found it challenging to determine how to approach this ever-changing individual.

“Haha, I’m definitely interested in Wakanda’s technology, but there’s no rush for that now. Besides, Miss Shuri, didn’t you promise to engage in technological exchange with us? So, what kind of technology can we expect to exchange for Pym Particles?” Lin Rui asked with a smile.

“Always so talkative! Let’s get going already! As for what technology to exchange, I’ll decide when I’m in the mood!” Shuri replied playfully.

With that settled, Shuri led Lin Rui and Bucky out of the core lab to explore the central city area of Wakanda. Along the way, Lin Rui and Bucky got to witness the unique characteristics of the coalition of various tribal communities in Wakanda, along with their peculiar blend of primitive and advanced technology.

Shuri didn’t pay much attention to Lin Rui and Bucky’s thoughts; she was simply responsible for showing them around. As for T’Challa’s earlier mention of a continued question-and-answer session during their tour, Shuri had already brushed it aside. After all, she believed T’Challa would have further communication with Lin Rui later on.

Meanwhile, back at SHIELD headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Earth, the fourteen bald female warriors from the Royal Guard of Wakanda were gathered in a conference room. Captain America, Steve Rogers, frowned as he observed the serious expressions on their faces. 𝐫Ἀ𐌽ÓᛒĚṨ

“This Jackson! He sure knows how to stir up trouble!” Steve muttered to himself, his face wrinkling in deep thought.

“Captain Rogers, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to inform you that we have dispatched the Royal Guard to Earth for an urgent mission related to SHIELD. We believe it is time to establish a direct line of communication between Wakanda and SHIELD to ensure a peaceful and cooperative relationship moving forward. I trust that you will understand our reasons for taking this step.”

Steve nodded as he listened to T’Challa’s message. It was clear that the king of Wakanda was extending an olive branch, seeking cooperation and understanding. However, he also knew that this newfound alliance would require delicate handling to ensure it benefited both Wakanda and SHIELD.

“I appreciate King T’Challa’s message and his willingness to establish contact,” Steve replied. “I believe it’s a positive step forward for both Wakanda and SHIELD. Please convey my gratitude to the Royal Guard for their dedication to this mission.”

The female warrior nodded and said, “Thank you, Captain Rogers. We will do our best to facilitate this cooperation. King T’Challa has requested that we accompany you to our embassy in Wakanda for further discussions when the time is right.”

Steve agreed, recognizing the importance of face-to-face meetings in building trust. “That sounds like a reasonable plan. I look forward to visiting Wakanda and strengthening our partnership.”

With the message delivered and the communication channel established, the tension in the room began to ease. The Royal Guard of Wakanda had a reputation for their unwavering commitment, and their presence on Earth was a significant step in the direction of cooperation between the two nations.

As the meeting concluded, Steve couldn’t help but wonder about the mysterious Jackson and the role he played in this unfolding alliance.
