Startled by the sound of an engine outside, Aunt Fang woke up.
She quickly opened the door, and sure enough, her husband was back.
Gu Liancheng entered quickly, carrying Fang Eleven and said to Aunt Fang, "Get the hot water going."
"Oh, yes!" Aunt Fang nodded, frowning, "What happened to the lady... sheās drunk again..."
Whatās with the kids these days? Canāt they cope with unhappiness without resorting to alcohol?
"Bear with it a little longer."
They even didnāt have time to go to the second floor, and hurriedly went into the first floor restroom. By then, Eleven simply couldnāt hold it back any longer and vomited drastically.
The strong smell of alcohol instantly filled the restroom. The odor was weighty. Gu Liancheng frowned but did not leave her side.
Fang Eleven, what am I to do with you!
...
Moving the soft and vulnerable Eleven back into the bed, her hands were still clinging to his waist.
"Iām not Qianxun..."
She was muttering something. He couldnāt quite catch it and leaned in closer to ask, "What did you say?"
Stumbling through her slurred thought train, Eleven changed her tune almost instinctively when she heard Gu Lianchengās voice, "Husband, I love you..."
"..." He helplessly shook his head, removed her hand from his waist and tucked her properly under the blanket.
A call came in from Shang Jingyang.
"Have you found her?"
Gu Liancheng glanced at the peacefully asleep figure on the bed and nodded, "Yes, I found her. What about you?"
"No... Itās as though she vanished into thin air, Iāve searched everywhere and canāt find her."
"Sheāll be found." He could only offer words of consolation.
But everybody knew, the hope was remote at best.
She disappeared over a decade ago and thereās been no news at all. The situation was more likely grim than hopeful.
"Damn....itās all my fault! That day I shouldnāt have..."
"Nobody wish for it."
But some things, once they happened, they had happened.
...
When his screen went black, he had no choice but to throw in the towel.
This hacker seemed to get a kick out of playing with him.
Just like today, they hacked him simply to chat.
It was eleven oāclock. Having washed up, Gu Liancheng sat on the sofa, unfazed by the sudden attack. He nonchalantly responded: Itās eleven oāclock. Arenāt you asleep yet, baby?
In the dead of night, he had nothing else to do, so he actually started chatting back.
Gu Liancheng is my daddy: Mummy isnāt here again! ā(āÆ^ā°)ā® Baby is scared lying in bed alone.
By now, he had automatically substituted this mysterious hacker for the persona of Grandpa JiĒ - only this way it didnāt feel so discordant.
Gu Liancheng: Next time baby should come with mummy, and we can all sleep together.
Gu Liancheng is my daddy: Okay, okay, papa sleeps with mummy, and I share the bed with my little sister.
"..."
Seeing this, Gu Liancheng was taken aback.
But he quickly caught on; news of Cute was no secret, even this hacker would know.
Gu Liancheng: Okay.
Gu Liancheng is my daddy: Then daddy, when will you return my mummy to me! ā(āÆ^ā°)ā® Youāve monopolized mummy for so many years now.
Well... They have been married for four years, also public knowledge.
Heh, this hacker was pretty good at exploiting these bits of information.
Then again, they must be pretty bored to pretend to be a four-year-old child for some online amusement.
Soon, Gu Liancheng was laughing at himself.
If you thought about it, wasnāt he even more ludicrous for playing along with this make-believe?
Gu Liancheng: Soon, your mummy will be back with you. Be a good baby, behave yourself.
