Yao Ruoshuiâs expression fell instantly.
"I canât do deceit. This marriage was arranged by you all, I am just a puppet used to unite the Yao and Jin families! Does my actual feelings matter to you?" Jin Xiangbei stood up, his voice full of emotion.
"Little Northâ" Jin Xiangnan grabbed his hand, hoping heâd calm down.
Talking about it now wouldnât change anything. Eleven was married and even though sheâs divorced now, he had married Yao Ruoshui. Nothing could be undone.
Jin Xiangbei didnât pay heed to Jin Xiangnan, he continued, "Doesnât it matter? Regardless of whether or not I like her, you all wanted me to marry her! Because it benefits the Jin family the most! Even she doesnât care whether or not I love her, does saying it in front of her make any difference?"
"Xiangbei..." Yao Ruoshui seemed wronged, "It does... it would hurt me too."
"If it hurts you then why didnât you reject this marriage!" This was the first time Jin Xiangbei expressed his anger towards Yao Ruoshui after they got married, "You knew that I donât love you so why did you still marry me! You knew the person I love most is Eleven, yet you still stayed by my side, Yao Ruoshui, are you a masochist?!"
Father Jin sighed deeply.
He knew that being too quiet wasnât a good sign.
Itâs not that he wasnât going to erupt, he just hadnât reached his breaking point. Well, he has now.
"Xiangbei..." Tears welled up in Yao Ruoshuiâs eyes.
"Little North!" Mother Jin couldnât stand listening anymore, "How could you speak to Ruoshui like that! Yes, it was my fault initially, but I did it for your own goodâ"
"Enough!" Jin Xiangbei knocked off the dishes on the table, "Stop saying you did it for my good! You didnât do it for me! You did it for the good of the Jin family! You did it for your own good! I havenât been fine these past years and I wonât be fine in the future! Go on, keep pushing me! Maybe youâll be happy once you push me to my death!"
After letting it all out, Jin Xiangbei stormed off in a huff, no one dared to follow.
No one could reason with him now.
The dining table was silent.
Father Jin didnât say anything. It was too late to say anything now, all he could do was sigh.
Mother Jin was the sort to save face and never admit her wrongs, she muttered, "The weddingâs already been done... What else can we do? We have to live our lives... It wasnât our fault that Eleven got a divorce. Well... Ruoshui, itâs a good thing your wedding was early, otherwise if it had been a month later..."
Yao Ruoshui fell silent and lost her appetite.
"Mom," Jin Xiangnan didnât lift his head, just kept eating as he spoke, "You really donât understand Eleven at all."
Mother Jin didnât understand his point, "Why should I understand her?"
"Eleven is a really good girl, if you donât take it to heart to get to know her, youâll never understand. Do you really think that marriage could bind Little North if he wants to leave this home? As long as Eleven comes back to him and tells him to leave with her..."
Jin Xiangnan intentionally paused, giving them some space to think.
Both Mother Jin and Yao Ruoshui seemed to understand something as they widened their eyes.
Only then did Jin Xiangnan say, with a bitter smile, "Little North would give up everything, this family, this familyâs assets, and even... his current wife in name. He would leave with Eleven, to the ends of the earth. And he would never return."
