"Really? Seems like Iāve been a bother, shall I step aside then?" Gu Liancheng narrowed his eyes mischievously.
"No, no need!" All the secretaries promptly stood up, "Mr. Gu, if thereās nothing else, weāll get back to work..."
"I feel kind of guilty having you all work on Sunday."
"Itās okay, itās okay!" As though rehearsed, they shook their heads in unison, "Itās our infinite honor to share the burden with the CEO! Weāre more than willing! You can rely on us, Mr. Gu, we have absolutely no complaints!"
Pfft....
Ai Lin was the first one to start laughing, turning her head away.
These girls were really something else, she thought.
Su Bai also made a coughing sound, looking elsewhere.
"Su Bai."
"Oh! Mr. Gu?" Su Bai quickly jogged over to him, seeming puzzled.
"These secretaries, they were trained under you initially, right?"
"Yes, Mr. Gu!"
"They donāt seem to have learned much else from you, but their bootlicking skills have certainly been passed down."
"Hey," Su Bai chuckled, "Whatās this about bootlicking, Mr. Gu? Itās our honor to work for you, how could that be brown-nosing? Is the truth no longer acceptable these days?"
Jiujiu raised an eyebrow, looking at him as if the best part of the show was about to start.
Gu Liancheng smirked but didnāt actually seem to mind much.
Everyone here had been working with Gu Liancheng for quite some time and knew his temperament well, so they knew what was acceptable to say and what wasnāt. He could take a joke.
"Mr. Gu, so, we..." One of the secretaries cheerfully asked.
"Wait up. It seems like youāre all quite interested in my ex-wife?"
"Ah haha... Well, Mr. Gu, a lady as beautiful and well-mannered as Mrs. Gu is certainly someone weād love to meet! Excellent taste, Mr. Gu!"
The gorgeous secretaries all chimed in.
Even though they were complimenting Qianxun, Gu Liancheng felt rather pleased listening to them.
"Hmm, when the opportunity presents itself, Iāll introduce you to her. Jiujiu, letās go, Iāll show you around elsewhere."
Jiujiu hopped off the sofa and followed him out.
The secretaries started discussing, "Did the CEO just say heās going to introduce us to Mrs. Gu?"
"No way we misinterpreted that as his future wife, right? Iām not interested in meeting that business mogulās daughter at all. I donāt like her, who knows, she might be the reason Mr. Guās relationship with his wife soured."
Ai Lin smiled, leaving them without an answer.
When the time comes, what needs to be known will be revealed.
...
Gu Liancheng led Jiujiu around practically the whole Liancheng Group building.
Everywhere they went they were greeted with synchronized "Hello, Mr. Gu, hello, mini-master," which everyone seemed to enjoy conclusively.
Today was their first time meeting the little prince, so naturally, they were all very excited and curious. However, with Gu Liancheng around, they couldnāt chat with Jiujiu as much as they would like.
Jiujiuās eyes sparkled with interest after entering the office. He saw it all.
This lad was indeed interested in such places!
Choosing to bring him here instead of some amusement park seemed to be the right decision. Little Prince seemed to prefer this ambiance over a childās play area.
"Are you hungry? Itās time for lunch. What do you feel like eating?"
"Donāt worry, Iām not hungry," Jiujiu said, too fascinated to eat, casting curious glances all around, "Whatās that over there? Something being built?"
They saw a construction site ahead where workers, outfitted with safety gear, busied themselves.
"Itās the company logo, the old one was outdated, so weāre replacing it with a new one."
