Although Mr. Ya had sustained significant injuries in the battle, he was in a state of extreme euphoria. The joy of victory made him completely forget his pain.
This was different from the times he had teamed up with Su Ze to hunt exotic beasts.
This time, while he did leverage the power of the Burrow Spiders, they were by no means his allies. The spiders attacked the man with the buzz cut, but they would have just as easily attacked him. In a way, he had simply used the environment to eliminate his foe.
This opened up a new line of thinking for Mr. Ya, showing him a path forward for future battles. Even though he lacked offensive abilities, he could use his environment to kill his enemies.
Su Ze was lavish with his praise. "Seriously impressive! Mr. Ya, youâre incredible!"
His thoughts then turned to another matter. "In that case," he said, "letâs kill those three students from Lin Hua Noble Academy."
Now that the man with the buzz cut was dead, there was no way they could leave the three students alive. They had to be silenced.
"Yeah," Mr. Ya nodded in agreement. "Leave it to me. Iâll toss them all into the Burrow Spidersâ lair. That way, we wonât technically be the ones who killed them. Theyâll die in the jaws of an exotic beast. Whatâs that got to do with us?"
Su Ze was thinking the exact same thing.
It was a fitting punishmentâturning the same methods they used on others back on them.
Mr. Ya and Su Ze divided the labor. Su Ze remained to excavate the wooden earring, while Mr. Ya took the three unconscious students in trips and threw them into the Burrow Spidersâ lair.
A little over an hour later, Su Ze finally finished excavating. An ebony earring dropped into his hand.
Mr. Ya hurried over. As soon as they were close, they both felt the fluctuations of high-level evolutionary energy coming from the earring.
"This is... a storage item!"
Su Ze focused his Spiritual Power and immediately sensed a space of about two cubic meters within the earring.
Without a doubt, this was a storage item crafted from a Qiankun Wood Fruit. And, based on its shape as an earring, it wasnât hard to guess that its original owner must have been a female evolver.
The spatial item alone was already priceless. But to Su Zeâs even greater surprise, the Earring Space still contained items left behind by its former owner!
"Come on, letâs get out of here. Weâll find a place to split the loot... no, to divvy up the spoils."
Su Ze stowed all the loot he had just taken from the three Lin Hua Noble Academy students into the Earring Space, then quickly departed with Mr. Ya.
Instead of returning to the surface, the two found an abandoned exotic beastâs cave underground and began to take stock of their haul.
Su Ze dumped the entire contents of the Earring Space out in one go. A musty smell immediately assaulted them. The space had been filled with all sorts of miscellaneous items, including clothes and even food.
Su Ze kicked all the worthless junk aside and began to inspect the items the previous owner had left behind.
"Evolution potions? After all these years, theyâre probably all expired."
Su Ze and Mr. Ya tossed out all the bottles and jars. Some of them had contained valuable natural remedies, but they had all shriveled up or rotted away.
"Whoa, look at all these extracts!" Su Ze and Mr. Ya discovered a box containing seven or eight tubes!
"A Tier-4 extract!" Mr. Yaâs hands were trembling. He had never seen a Tier-4 extract in his entire life.
Among the seven or eight tubes in the box, one was emitting a conspicuous, brilliant green glow!
"Weâre rich! Weâre rich!" Mr. Ya muttered to himself.
This wasnât Su Zeâs first time dealing with a Tier-4 extract, so he was comparatively calm. He threw some cold water on the excitement, saying, "Iâve never heard of extracts expiring, but it has been several hundred years. Itâd be safer to take it back and have it tested with the proper equipment."
"Besides, with Tier-4 extracts, thereâs a huge price gap between high-grade and low-grade. Anything below C-grade is worth less than a high-grade Tier-3 extract. But if itâs B-grade or higher... then weâve really hit the jackpot!"
