Early the next morning, Su Ze and Mr. Ya bid farewell to Mrs. Yun and Liou Wenxin, then set off for the Miracle Oasis.
The Miracle Oasis was situated on the border between Dongli and Luofan, so it was only a small detour for them.
Su Ze considered leaving some of his currently unneeded treasuresâlike the two vials of Tier Six extractâwith Liou Wenxin and Mrs. Yun for safekeeping. âIf I donât make it back,â he thought, âit would be better than letting the King of Mu get his hands on them.â
But then he had another thought. âFuck it!â
âIâm a Transmigrator, blessed with a protagonistâs halo! Thereâs no way Iâm going to die!â
And so, he set off with all his worldly possessions.
The two of them hadnât walked far from the villa when they ran into a group of Dongli University students, who immediately started screaming upon seeing Su Ze and Mr. Ya.
"Ah! Su Ze! Itâs Su Ze!"
"Hubby, can I have your autograph!"
"Yargha, itâs Yargha! The Shovel Assassin!"
"Mr. Ya, the Kidney-Slicer! A role model for our generation!"
A crowd of students swarmed them, asking for autographs and photos. It was clear that Su Ze was surrounded by female fans, while the group around Mr. Ya consisted of male students whose eyes shone with admiration.
Had it been any of the other Dongli Guardian Gods, the students would never have been so bold. After all, the Guardian Gods were part of Dongliâs highest leadership.
However, because Su Ze and Mr. Ya were young and fellow students from the same university, the pair didnât seem so lofty and unapproachable.
Mr. Ya felt a pang of frustration. âHow can I be Saint-level and not have a single female fan?â
Seeing that the crowd of students was growing, Mr. Ya grabbed Su Ze and they made their escape, disappearing straight into the ground.
After reaching Saint-level, Mr. Yaâs travel speed had increased exponentially. He brought Su Ze all the way to the outskirts of the Miracle Oasis by traveling underground.
Compared to the caution they had exercised during their first visit, the two now entered the inner circle of the Miracle Oasis as if they were returning to their own home.
"Mother Tree, my life is in your hands this time," Su Ze said, playing the part of a pitiable victim.
The Mother Treeâs voice echoed in his mind, "I am rooted to this place and cannot move. I am powerless to help with matters thousands of miles away. If you can lure your enemy into the Miracle Oasis, I might be able to assist you."
"Then why did you call me here this time...?"
Several vines snaked out from an unknown location, moving quickly to appear before Su Ze.
Su Ze looked closely and saw that the tip of each vine was wrapped around a dark object. The vines placed the objects on the grass in front of Su Ze, then retreated.
There were three of the dark objects in total. Each was about the size and shape of an olive, but their color was an inky black, and they possessed a slightly ethereal quality.
"These are Shadow Fruits. In the wider universe, they are also nicknamed âAssassin Fruits.â I traded for them with a Tier Six Spiritual Plant from the shipâs cultivation room," the Mother Tree explained. "After consuming a Shadow Fruit, all energy fluctuations within your body will be suppressed. This will prevent others from detecting your presence with Perception Skills or Spiritual Power. The effect lasts for twelve hours."
âGood stuff...â Su Ze quickly stored the three Shadow Fruits. With these, they wouldnât have to worry about being detected by a Saint Envoy when entering the capital of Mu Country.
"This is all I can do to help you," the Mother Tree said.
"Thank you. Iâll do my best to come back alive and not let your investment go to waste."
Su Ze didnât linger in the Miracle Oasis. After taking the Shadow Fruits, the two of them departed.
Next stop, Luofan Country!
After applying simple disguises, the two headed for Luofan Country.
The closer they got to Luofan, the more agitated Mr. Ya became. His hands were even trembling slightly.
This was the first time he had returned to his homeland since leaving Luofan with Su Ze.
With their level of strength, they crossed the Luofan border defenses with ease, alerting no one.
Su Ze handed a Shadow Fruit to Mr. Ya. "Take this when we get close to the capital of Luofan Country."
With this fruit, Mr. Ya wouldnât be detected by the Luofan Saint Envoy. He could enter the capital of Luofan Country to take his revenge at his own pace. As long as he didnât make a big spectacle of killing someone in public and was a little careful, he wouldnât be discovered.
Originally, Su Ze had considered manufacturing a border conflict to lure the Luofan Saint Envoy awayâa classic "lure the tiger from its mountain" gambitâto create an opportunity for Mr. Ya. With the Shadow Fruit, that was no longer necessary.
...
That evening, Su Ze and Mr. Ya arrived at a small town just outside Moli City, the capital of Luofan Country.
They agreed that Mr. Ya would enter Moli City that night to find the siblings, Mosang and Moni, and take his revenge, while Su Ze would wait for him here.
Assassinating Extraordinary Evolvers like Mosang and Moni would be no challenge for Mr. Ya, so he didnât need Su Zeâs help. In fact, if Su Ze went along, it would only increase the risk of exposure.
"Go on," Su Ze said, sensing Mr. Yaâs urgency. He clapped him on the shoulder. "Contact me if anything happens."
Mr. Ya nodded, swallowed the Shadow Fruit, and then vanished on the spot using Earth Escape.
Su Ze tried to track Mr. Yaâs position with his Eye of Truth skill but, as expected, found nothing. After consuming the Shadow Fruit, Mr. Ya had completely suppressed all spiritual and energy fluctuations within his body.
Having witnessed the effects of the Shadow Fruit firsthand, Su Ze felt more at ease. He went to a local inn in the town and rented a room.
It wasnât that he needed to sleep; it was just that standing outside like a vagrant would be strange. Besides, he needed a quiet environment to think.
Mr. Ya would take his revenge tonight, and tomorrow, they would head to Mu Country to face the King of Mu.
He needed to sort out his thoughts and make his final preparations.
First, he called Chen Suifeng. "Mr. Fen, weâll arrive in Mu Country tomorrow."
Chen Suifeng replied, "Alright. Iâll go to Mu Country on business tomorrow, then. Wait for me to arrive before you make a move."
