"At last, itâs over."
A faint smile rose on Danielâs face.
Flash!
Whooshâ He appeared in an instant.
The prodigies of the Empyrean Faction all turned toward him almost at the same time.
There was confusion in their eyes, surprise, and a trace of curiosity.
"A human?"
Kahn frowned, uncertainty coloring his tone.
Daniel arched a brow.
"How could you tell?"
"Hehâ"
Kahn let out a disdainful laugh and lifted his chin. "As an overlord race, if we canât even keep track of the details of our own vassal races, that would be downright laughable."
"Kahn, this human is one of the Godkinâs vassal races?"
"So that makes him one of us?"
"Not necessarily. I donât think this human came with good intentions..."
Kahn gave a cold laugh. "The Godkin rule over dozens of realms and planes across the cosmos. Among them are human worlds."
He turned and explained to the others beside him.
"This branch of humanity fled here from the Endless Star River. If the Godkin hadnât ceded a world for them to settle on, they wouldnât even have had a place to live."
"I see. I was wondering. The human race is at least a second-rate race in the Endless Star River. Theyâre not exactly struggling. Why would they become a vassal race of the Godkin?"
"Oh, so itâs just one branch of humanity."
Magna of the Netherkin finally understood.
It was just like the Netherkin themselves. Though they all bore the name Netherkin, Magna and Vogan were not from the same exact lineage, which was why they could both enter Heavenscar.
Humanity, in the Endless Star River, was a middling second-rate raceâhardly powerful, but hardly weak either. No matter how one looked at it, they shouldnât have become the Godkinâs vassal race.
This was Danielâs first time hearing any of this as well.
Kahn looked down at him from above, his tone haughty and overbearing.
"Without the Godkinâs permission, the human race is forbidden from entering Heavenscar. That is an iron rule agreed upon by both races."
"You have already violated that rule by sneaking in here. When I return, I will report this matter to the Godkin..."
At this point, his expression turned icy.
"And when that happens, your people will pay for it."
Danielâs brows drew together as he asked coldly, "Why are humans not allowed to enter Heavenscar?"
"Hmph!"
Kahn snorted, his face full of contempt.
"Because your race signed a vassal race contract with the Godkin! As a vassal race, if you refuse your masterâs ordersâare you trying to violate the pact?"
Daniel slowly raised Stellar Wrath and said softly, "Violate the pact?"
"...Until now, I didnât even know such a humiliating contract existed."
His voice turned cold as sharpened ice.
"But now that I do, so what if I violate it?!"
He sneered.
"What can you do to me?"
Then his smile grew even more scornful.
"What vassal race contract? Just wait. One day, I, Faustus, will march on the Godkin and force you to sign the very same contract!"
"The Godkin shall become the slave race!"
"And humanity shall become the overlord race!"
The moment those words fell, an uproar broke out within the Empyrean Faction.
"Faustus?! So heâs the one who bathed the Holy Palace in blood and assassinated the Holy King?!"
"So itâs that madman! No wonder he looks insane!"
"Exactly! A slave race actually dreaming of breaking the pact unilaterally, even fantasizing about overthrowing the overlord race. How ridiculous!"
"This man is rebellious to the bone. Kahn, if you donât kill him now, I seriously think he might really go after the Godkin one day."
Kahnâs face darkened to the extreme.
He had never dreamed that the human race would produce such a wild and unyielding prodigy.
Murderous intent surged from him as he said coldly,
"Of course. Iâll kill him right now and leave no future trouble behind."
...
Quite unexpectedly, Daniel had finally answered some of the questions that had long puzzled him.
So this was the hidden relationship between the Godkin and the human race.
The moment he understood, he wasted no time and summoned all of his clones.
Swish! Swish!â
Ninety-nine clones appeared out of thin air, surrounding the remaining Otherworldly Prodigies on all sides.
"Clones?"
"How laughable."
Kahn sneered in disdain.
His body trembled slightly, and in the next instant, hundreds upon thousands of Kahns appeared simultaneously, packing the sky so densely it seemed to blot out the heavens.
"Repent for your sins!"
Kahn shouted coldly.
Divine radiance burst from the thousand-plus clones, and all kinds of skills rained down on Daniel like a storm.
Danielâs many clones attacked at the same time as well.
"Hunting Domain!"
"Windâs Embrace!"
"Shadowfont!"
"Skyfall Strike!"
"Permafrost Prison!"
"Thunder Abyss!"
...
In a single instant, heaven and earth were overturned.
Countless flaming meteors, trailing long tails of fire, smashed toward the ground. Bone-piercing cold winds froze everything in their path. Across the sky, thunder-element phantoms slaughtered HP without mercy.
Kahnâs skills were just as varied, and their power was no weaker than that of forbidden spells.
But when it came to sustained pressure, he was nowhere near Danielâs equal.
-100,000,000!
-100,000,000!
-100,000,000!
...
Endless damage numbers floated above the heads of those Otherworldly Prodigies.
Two prodigies who had already been wounded on the verge of death were killed on the spot.
[Ding! You have killed the prodigy Michael. Obtained Mage Skill Book: "Falling Star" (SSS-Rank), Gold Coins +5,000,000!]
[Ding! You have killed the prodigy Igri. Obtained Warrior Skill Book: "Armor of Holy War" (SSS-Rank), and 115 billion Gold Coins!]
Daniel listened to the system notifications as they rang out one after another.
Flash!
Whoosh!
His figure kept blinking, vanishing, then reappearing again and again.
No matter how many skills Kahn unleashed or how fierce they were, none of them could catch up to Danielâs speed.
On the contrary, Kahn himself was being bombarded by tens of thousands of continuously active forbidden spells, his HP plummeting in torrents. He had no choice but to keep throwing out Immortal Singularity just to break free from the restraints.
"Damn it! How can this lowly human wield forbidden spells?"
"And why is this bastard so fast?!"
Kahnâs face had turned green.
It wasnât as if he had never seen forbidden spells before. The Godkin had plenty of powerhouses who could cast them. But neverâneverâhad he seen someone like Daniel, whose forbidden spells were not only instant-cast, but also endlessly spammable.
He couldnât even imagine how much MP it would take to sustain so many forbidden spells at once.
Was that something a human could possibly do?
By now, Kahn had finally caught the scent of real danger.
He could no longer lie to himself.
He was already standing at deathâs door.
If he didnât bring out his final life-saving trump card right now, he might truly die here today.
"Divine Protection!"
Kahnâs face was black as the bottom of a pot as he finally revealed his last resort.
Within the Godkin, only those with the most monstrous talent were qualified to learn this secret art.
Kahn had mastered it before even becoming a legendary-grade powerhouse, and by now, he had cultivated it to a respectable level. It was strong enough to withstand even a few attacks from a supreme-grade expert.
Whooshâ!
A burst of golden light exploded from Kahnâs body, and in an instant, he transformed into a shining golden statue.
When the forbidden spells struck him, all they produced was a stream of "Miss" notifications.
"As expected of the Godkin. They really arenât simple."
Daniel frowned slightly, but there wasnât the slightest trace of panic in him.
Which one of these prodigies didnât have a few trump cards hidden up their sleeve?
And the Godkin, after all, were one of the great races of the Endless Star River.
The fact that Kahn had been sent into Heavenscar was proof enough that he stood at the top of the Godkinâs younger generation.
Daniel had no interest in wasting time grinding Kahn down. He turned his attention back to clearing out the rest of the prodigies.
This time, he activated Immortal Singularity, and in just a few moves, he sent the already-wounded geniuses to their deaths.
-100,000,000!
