Chapter 2013: He Should Be Afraid of Me

“Your staff?”

Wang Shuguang looked Liang Jinming up and down and said disdainfully, “You’re the boss here?”

“What’s wrong? Why are you looking for me?” Liang Jinming raised his eyebrows and asked. He did not take Wang Shuguang seriously.

“I’m Wang Shuguang. You apprehended two of my little brothers. Is that true?”

“Wang Shuguang!”

Hearing this name, whispers sounded in the bar. No one expected to meet Wang Shuguang here.

“Who is this person? Is he very powerful?”

“This guy is very famous in Zhonghai. He’s a very big gangster leader. Ordinary people can’t afford to offend him.”

“Then what are they doing here? Are they going to fight?”

“That’s hard to say. Who knows?”

Knowing Wang Shuguang’s identity, Lin Yi became serious, as he had been waiting for him.

But they did not act immediately, deciding to observe the situation first.

“You know what’s going on with your subordinates, right?”

Liang Jinming said, leaning leisurely against the sofa.

“We were planning to send them to the police, but they kept saying you’re a big deal and asked us to give some face. But we are legitimate businessmen, and we can’t do that.”

“If you’re legitimate businessmen, then you should give some face. Otherwise, your business might not be able to continue.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“Interpret it how you want. If you don’t know who I am, you can go find out.”

“Heh…”

Liang Jinming sneered. “I know who you are, just a thug. You don’t scare me.”

Wang Shuguang shrugged indifferently.

“I know people like us are nothing in the eyes of rich kids like you, and you look down on us. But it doesn’t matter. You can go ask your elders about Bai Yongshou.”

“Bai Yongshou!”

Hearing this name, Lin Yi was slightly surprised.

Recently, Zhonghai had been cracking down on vice and crime, with Bai Yongshou being the main target.

This just got interesting. Lin Yi hadn’t even acted yet, and his subordinates had already surfaced.

“Stop spouting nonsense about Bai Yongshou or whatever. It doesn’t work on me. If you have a problem, call your people now, and we’ll see who’s tougher.”

Liang Jinming, impatient, didn’t take Bai Yongshou or Wang Shuguang seriously at all.

“Old Liang, let them go.”

“Huh?”

Liang Jinming and the others were taken aback. “Brother Lin, what did you say? Let them go?”

Lin Yi nodded. “Let them go.”

Lin Yi had his own reasons for this decision.

If he dealt with Wang Shuguang tonight, Bai Yongshou wouldn’t just stand by and might bring people over, leading to a big fight.

Bai Yongshou’s fate was predictable.

But the problem was, the Xinshan and Songjiang precincts were planning a joint operation to capture these people.

As Li Xianghui said, if Lin Yi acted prematurely, it would break the rules.

So, for now, he couldn’t take action.

Lin Yi found this situation quite frustrating.

“Brother, you’re quite reasonable.”

Wang Shuguang glanced at Lin Yi, a smile forming on his lips, feeling quite respected.

For people in their line of work, reputation was everything.

Lin Yi’s actions satisfied his vanity.

Lin Yi waved impatiently. “Take your people and leave. We have business to attend to.”

“Let’s leave it at this for today. I’ll come to support your business another day. From now on, we’re friends.”

Lin Yi nodded symbolically, not saying much, and took a large sip of wine, feeling very annoyed.

Soon, Wang Shuguang left with his men, and Liang Jinming returned to his seat.

“Brother Lin, this isn’t like you,” Liang Jinming said.

“They committed a crime here, and even sold that kind of stuff, and you just let them go?”

“The precincts are planning an operation to target these people. I can’t act prematurely. We’ll deal with them all at once later.”

“Oh, so that’s the situation.”

The three of them understood. “Let’s not talk about it anymore and keep drinking.”

“Cheers.”

…

About forty minutes later, Wang Shuguang arrived at the Qianjiang Bathing Center in Zhonghai.

This was a place Bai Yongshou often visited. When he didn’t go home, he would spend the night here.

“Brother Bai, everything is settled.”

Standing in front of Bai Yongshou, Wang Shuguang smiled.

“So, those rich kids didn’t act tough in front of you?” Bai Yongshou said, a cigarette in his mouth.

“One of them did try to act tough. When I got there, he was still shouting at me,” Wang Shuguang said.

“But among them, there was one reasonable guy. As soon as I mentioned your name, he caved and let the people go without saying much.”

Bai Yongshou nodded, finding this quite normal.

Given his reputation in Zhonghai, anyone who knew him would show some respect.

Except for some stubborn fools, no one dared to oppose him.

“Alright, as long as the men are back, let’s talk about other matters.”

Bai Yongshou fiddled with his phone for a while, then showed Wang Shuguang a photo of Lin Yi.

“His name is Lin Yi, the Lin Ye that Wei Yihua mentioned. There’s more information about him here. Find a time to contact him, invite him to a meal, and see what he’s about.”

“That’s him!”

Seeing Lin Yi’s photo, Wang Shuguang was stunned.

He hadn’t expected the young man he encountered at the bar to be the Master Lin that Wei Yihua talked about. What a coincidence!

“You know him?”

Wang Shuguang shook his head. “No, but at the bar, he was the one who put in a good word and got the boss to release our guys. Otherwise, I would have had to teach them a lesson.”

“He pleaded for them?”

Bai Yongshou was also very surprised. This was not what he had expected.

Wang Shuguang nodded. “At first, he didn’t say much and just watched. He probably didn’t know who I was, so he didn’t give any face. But when I mentioned your name, he immediately spoke up and showed respect.”

Bai Yongshou rubbed his fingers and smiled.

“This makes things interesting.”

“Indeed, it’s quite interesting. I guess he knows your reputation and influence in Zhonghai, so he extended a favor without saying much.”

Bai Yongshou nodded. “I think so too. From this, it’s clear that he should be afraid of me. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have shown such an attitude at the mention of my name.”
