The Evil God couldn't understand it, he was simply stunned by the power behind Xu Zimo.
What confused him even more was how a being that had transcended the Grand Emperor realm could even exist on the Primordial Heartlands.
According to logic, once someone advanced to the level of a Grand Emperor, they had to go to the Outer Heavens to break through further.
Paimon looked up and frowned slightly.
In the sky, thunder was flashing, and a crimson lightning bolt was forming at the center.
It looked like it was preparing to strike with a deadly blow.
The crackling of thunder gathered overhead.
Paimon knew this was the Heavenly Tribulation, summoned because he had forcibly opened the tenth meridian gate, violating the laws of this world.
Unless he left for the Outer Heavens, the Heavenly Dao would try to destroy him.
âMy lord, give me a moment. I need to take care of this,â Paimon said as he pointed to the sky.
Xu Zimo nodded, watching Paimonâs figure leave.
He had a feeling that Paimon was getting closer and closer to his ultimate mission.
Maybe one day, Paimon would have to leave for good.
Xu Zimo also knew he needed to grow stronger quickly.
He turned his gaze toward the Evil God, who was still suppressed and unable to move.
âAre you trying to bring extinction to your race?â Xu Zimo asked calmly.
âIsnât that up to your whim?â the Evil God replied with a bitter smile.
By now, he had completely lost the imposing presence of the supreme terror he once was.
He had returned to his pale, sickly-looking young human form.
It didnât feel good to have his life and fate gripped in someone elseâs hands.
He had experienced that before, when his race was exiled.
And now again, facing near extinction.
âYour race depends on blood to survive, which means the killing will never end,â
Xu Zimo said coldly.
âHand over everything your race has. Iâll let a portion of your bloodline survive. So it can continue on.â
The Evil God stayed silent for a moment, then said, âIâll give you everything. And I swear never to step outside the Land of Exile again. Let all of us go. How about that?â
âFine,â Xu Zimo nodded slightly.
âReally?â The Evil God was stunned. He had only said that to test Xu Zimo.
He hadnât expected him to actually agree.
âI only care about what I came for. As for the rest, as long as your Blood-Devouring Evil Race doesnât cross me, it has nothing to do with me,â Xu Zimo shrugged. âAs for the people of the Ancient Realm, Iâll tell them the truth. Those who want to leave can go out to the real world. Those who want to stay can do so, itâs their choice.â
âThank you,â the Evil God said after a brief pause.
âNo need to thank me. Honestly, I was planning to wipe you all out for some peace,â Xu Zimo said, shaking his head.
âIt was Paimon who pleaded for your lives. He asked me to spare you.â
The Evil God was slightly taken aback by this.
Clearly, he hadnât expected it.
And Xu Zimo wasnât lying, Paimon had indeed asked for mercy earlier.
Though he didnât know why Paimon had done so, Xu Zimo decided to spare the Blood-Devouring Evil Race.
âŠâŠ
The suppression seal was lifted. The Evil God waved his hand, tearing open space in front of him.
A spatial gate appeared beside him.
Ripples pulsed from it, though no one could tell where it led.
âAll of my possessions are inside this independent space,â the Evil God said. âYou can take whatever you want. Even if you empty it all, I wonât care.â
Xu Zimo stepped into the spatial gate without fear of any trickery.
Inside, his vision narrowed.
This independent space wasnât huge, more like mid-sized.
Ahead stood several interconnected palaces.
Weapons, meridian techniques, cultivation methods, and rare items were all organized into separate areas.
Xu Zimo entered one of the halls. Most of what he saw didnât interest him much.
The palace had seven floors.
He went straight to the seventh floor. Compared to the crowded lower levels, this top floor had very few items.
There, Xu Zimo found the two things he needed: the Nine-Revolutions God-Tower Physique and the Heavenly Dao Crystal.
The Nine-Revolutions God-Tower Physique was a bluish orb.
It was divided into nine sections, each engraved with a unique symbol.
It looked incredibly mysterious.
The Heavenly Dao Crystal was something the Dark Primordial race needed.
It was the first crystal formed from Heavenly Dao energy at the beginning of time, during the opening of the world. Its origin was massive, and so was its potential, though Xu Zimo personally had little use for it.
The crystal required very specific items and conditions to activate.
After putting both items away, Xu Zimo checked a few others.
He found one more unexpected treasure: The Broken Immortal Soul.
He had been preparing this item to help Chaos enter the Path of Immortality and advance to the Arcane Immortal Realm from the God Meridian Realm.
He already had the other three primary ingredients, only this one had been missing.
He hadnât expected to find it here by chance.
After storing the item, Xu Zimo exited the hall and returned through the spatial gate.
He had only taken what was important, he didnât loot the place completely.
Many things inside were useless to him anyway.
âŠâŠ
âGo,â Xu Zimo said to the Blood-Devouring Evil Race as he waved them off.
The Evil God and the Nine Evil Generals bowed to him, then shattered the void and left.
âThis eraâs Heavenâs Will will rest on your shoulders. A sorrowful time for heavenly prodigies,â the Evil God murmured to himself before leaving.
Everything that had happened in the sky was seen by many of the Ancient Realmâs native inhabitants.
They speculated quietly but didnât dare come to any conclusions.
Until a booming voice echoed through the sky, in everyoneâs ears:
âThe lies of the Ancient Realm have been exposed today. You are nothing more than food raised in a cage. This so-called Ancient Realm is just a sealed prison. If anyone wishes to see the real world, leave the Forbidden Ground. The exit is there. But let me warn you, the outside world is far more dangerous, and far more exciting.â
As Xu Zimoâs voice faded, the entire Ancient Realm was thrown into uproar.
For them, this might be the moment their worldview truly collapsed.
Their understanding of reality since childhood, many couldnât accept it right away.
Some may have always had suspicions, but most had been completely deceived.
The enforcers, once hailed as heroes, were now revealed to be monsters.
Xu Zimo didnât concern himself further. He had done all he could.
In the end, these peopleâs lives and deaths had nothing to do with him.
Now that he had what he wanted, he was ready to leave.
Not long after, Paimon came walking through the air from the distance.
His aura was unstable, clearly affected by the Heavenly Tribulation.
Blood stains were faintly visible on his red robe.
