âThis...â Yi Chenâs eyes raised in horror when he saw this scene.
Just when he was processing in his mind as to what he should do, he saw the bandit being struck by one of Brother Xiangâs struggling punches.
"You fucking shit!" The bandit roared in anger, feeling the burning sensation on his face, and the next moment plunged his sword straight towards the manâs stomach.
"No-"
Once again, before Yi Chen could complete his words, the sword had completed its motion.
Shrkk!
Seeing Brother Xiang, who was happily talking with him about starting a new life with his family earlier, being pierced through his stomach, Yi Chenâs eyes turned bloodshot.
Rage took over his fear, and he rushed towards the bandit.
When he was just a few feet away, he roared with all his might and slashed his sword downward from the banditâs left shoulder to his right waist.
SHIIINK!
His sword completely cut half of the banditâs body before being stopped by his spine.
"Y-You..." the bandit tried to turn around to see Yi Chenâs face, but before he could do so, he coughed up large portions of blood and fell to the ground, his life leaving him.
Feeling the warm blood sliding down the blade and covering his hands, Yi Chenâs mind went blank in shock
âI-I killed s-someone...â he thought to himself in panic and denial when suddenly he felt his leg being grabbed by someone.
Looking downwards, Yi Chen saw Brother Xiang clutching the side of his bloodied stomach tightly and pleading to him.
"B-Brother...S-save my w-wife," he managed to say while grimacing in pain.
Hearing his words, Yi Chen was immediately reminded of his wife being dragged towards the bushes by that bandit.
Without a second thought, he rushed in that direction.
....
SLAP!
"You dare bite me, you bitch!" The bandit roared through his bleeding lips and slapped the woman again, making her screech in pain.
"Yes, louder, scream louder, otherwise it wonât be any fun, will it?" The man smiled nefariously and, while standing up, undid his trousers.
"Itâs my first time tasting someone like you, so I wanted to take it a little easy, but since youâre so adamant on struggling, shouldnât I be a little forceful as well?"
The bandit asked while snickering wickedly, which made a chill run down the womanâs spine.
HELP!
Someone help me!
She cried for help. Worried more for her child than herself.
Hearing her cries of panic was like music to the banditâs ears, and feeling stoked, he finally knelt towards the woman.
However, just when he was about to do the unthinkable, a sharp sword pierced through his chest.
âThis...â
Looking down at the bloodied sword which had just penetrated his chest, the banditâs face was filled with confusion as his vision started to fade.
The next moment, Yi Chen shoved the manâs body aside using his sword as a lever and checked the womanâs condition.
"Sister Ling, are you alright?" He asked as his eyes looked for wounds over her body.
The woman was completely shocked as she witnessed this scene, and it was only when she heard Yi Chenâs question that she was pulled out of it.
An extreme sense of gratefulness filled her being the very next moment.
"T-Thank you! Thank you for saving me," she started crying her eyes out.
"Itâs alright, everythingâs alright now," Yi Chen tried to calm her down and helped her up.
When he returned, Brother Xiang was lying on the floor with a painful grimace on his face, but his eyes were still directed towards them.
"L-Lingâer! Youâre alright!" he exclaimed in delight, seeing his wifeâs well-being, as his consciousness started to fade.
"Xiangâer!" The woman exclaimed in fright and rushed towards him.
Yi Chen, too, arrived with a frown on his face. However, when his eyes noticed the exact area where the sword had penetrated, a sense of hope rose in his heart.
"Sister Ling, please enter that tent and start searching for some clothes to wrap around Brother Xiangâs wounds," Yi Chen said immediately.
"Y-yes," With her mind in panic, Yi Chenâs words gave her a sense of direction, and she immediately rushed inside the tent.
Meanwhile, Yi Chen grabbed Brother Xiang from his underarms and dragged him inside the tent.
While Sister Ling was wrapping her husbandâs wounds, Yi Chen exited the tent.
Turning towards the centre area where the fighting was still running rampant, he rushed towards it.
It wasnât a move done on the spur of the moment, but after a brief thought.
While dealing with the two bandits, one thing became very certain to Yi Chen. He was far stronger than they were.
To be precise, he was the strongest person in the whole camp at the moment. His strength stat of 20 was a testament to that.
His hands were trembling from fear and his heart was beating in panic but after being aware that he was clearly stronger than these bandits, Yi Chen knew that he would end up hating himself if he didnât help out and chose to run away instead.
Gritting his teeth he blocked a sword that was suddenly swung at him by one of the nearby bandits.
Hah!
The bandit pulled back his sword to attempt another slash when he realised that he couldnât feel his arm anymore.
Yi Chen didnât want to kill more people than necessary therefore he had decided to cut his sword arm off.
However, his generosity wasnât appreciated by the bandit one bit and like a crazed dog he roared in pain and rushed towards him with pure hatred apparent in his eyes.
SLASH!
The bandit lifelessly fell down the next moment as an ugly expression appeared on Yi Chenâs face.
He had realised that there was no option but to kill all these bastards.
With a heavy mood, he rushed towards others who needed help.
He swung his sword.
Once, twice...thrice.
One after another, he kept dealing with the bandits and helped the other fellow passengers who had stolen weapons from the corpses to defend themselves.
Meanwhile, at the centre of the battle. The mercenary leader was currently engaged in a bloody fight with the bandit leader.
His remaining mercenary men had dwindled to just four by now.
âAre we going to die here?â
The man thought to himself, feeling the invisible noose of death tightening around his neck.
However, just then, the situation turned chaotic, and the bandits around them started losing their numbers.
