Luo Huangâs red-rimmed eyes looked up and he bellowed, "Stop! I can give you the Divine Seed... Otherwise, Iâll detonate it right now, and youâll get nothing!"
By offering the Divine Seed as both an enticement and a threat, Luo Huang sought a glimmer of hope from Su Changkong. However, this so-called "Blood Divine Seed" was not an actual Divine Seed, only usable and refinable by those of the same bloodline; it was worthless to others.
However, Su Changkongâs only response to Luo Huang was the motion of him drawing his bow and placing an arrow. Su Changkong would not be threatened by Luo Huang. Although he had some interest in the so-called Blood Divine Seed, he did not consider it a must-have, nor would he let this opportunity give Luo Huang a chance to escape or catch his breath.
"Damn it! Then Iâll make sure you end up with nothing!"
Seeing Su Changkong remain steadfast in his resolve from within the clouds, Luo Huang gritted his teeth fiercely. He forced his Qi and Blood and True Qi, detonating the Divine Seed within his body.
"Crack! Crack! Crack!"
The unstable "Blood Divine Seed," crafted using the bloodlines and flesh of numerous Luo Family descendants, erupted with chaotic power. In an instant, Luo Huangâs body began to disintegrate amidst roars and screams; his face twisted in agony. The Blood Divine Seed, flickering with firelight and moonlight, was on the verge of explosion.
"What a pity..." Su Changkong too lamented the sight. Though the Blood Divine Seed wasnât a true Divine Seed, he could have gleaned something from studying it, but Luo Huang chose to destroy it before his death.
Yet to kill Luo Huang and prevent the detonation of the "Blood Divine Seed" was impossible.
However, something astonishing happened. Just as the Blood Divine Seed was about to burst, a hand as delicate as carved jade lightly caught it, and a surge of cold energy poured inâthe entire Blood Divine Seed was frozen solid, and the impending explosion was abruptly halted.
It was a woman, with black hair cascading down her back, dressed in a simple white snow robe, with a sword hanging from her waist. Her skin was as translucent as jade, her features flawless, a gentle beauty with a trace of determination.
More shockingly, time and space around her seemed frozen. The dust and gravel lifted up by the wind couldnât get near her before being turned into ice and falling to the ground, as if she were a spirit of ice and snow.
"Blood Divine Seed?" The woman observed the Divine Seed frozen in ice in her palm, her eyes narrowing and brows slightly knitting as she recognized what it was.
"Who is this woman? How did she so effortlessly freeze a Divine Seed that was about to explode?"
Even Su Changkong couldnât conceal his surprise. This woman had appeared out of nowhere and effortlessly secured the Blood Divine Seed in her grasp!
With vigilance, Su Changkong noted the woman in the snow robe. She too saw Su Changkong riding on the back of a white crane in the sky. Her voice chimed clear and cold as a spring, "Perhaps you would care to come down for a chat?"
Thoughts raced through Su Changkongâs mind. This woman was clearly no ordinary person, and though she seemed to bear no malice, he wasnât so intimidated that he would avoid meeting her face to face.
Immediately, Su Changkong descended and landed on the ground, though he made sure to keep a safe distance of more than thirty feet from the woman in the snow robe.
The snow robe woman appeared to be a young girl, with an ethereal and serene countenance, no older than twenty at most. But Su Changkong dared not underestimate her; the ability to freeze the Blood Divine Seed on the verge of explosion was extraordinary!
The snow robe woman opened her palm, revealing the Blood Divine Seed. She sighed, "This is the Blood Divine Seed... I recall the Ancient Demon Sect had methods to concoct divine seeds like these. It seems even the Ancient Demon Sect is unable to sit back and has started stirring up trouble."
The woman had been drawn here by the aura of the Divine Seed, yet what she felt was not a true Divine Seed, but merely a âBlood Divine Seedâ concocted by special means.
"Ancient Demon Sect?"
Su Changkong had never heard of the Ancient Demon Sectâs name, but the fact that they held knowledge to transform people of noble bloodlines into Blood Divine Seeds, and shared this technique with the Luo Family, was evidence enough that they were no good!
The snow robe woman looked at Su Changkong and said, "I need this Blood Divine Seed. It should aid in tracking down members of the Ancient Demon Sect... They need to be eliminated!"
Upon hearing this, Su Changkong frowned and said, "Luo Huang was killed by me, so his spoils of war should rightfully be mine!"
Although if it werenât for the womanâs intervention, the Blood Divine Seed would certainly have shattered and been destroyed, and even though it wasnât a real Divine Seed, it still held great value. He didnât like the idea of someone demanding it so lightly and wasnât keen on giving it up so easily!
At the same time, Su Changkong was on his guard. In his Dantian, he still had five drops of Mysterious Turtle True Essence, allowing him the capacity to either fight or retreat.
The snow robe woman asked, "May I know how to address you, sir?"
The snow robe womanâs demeanor was polite and courteous.
"Dao Wufeng, a Guest Elder of the Xia Yan family!"
Su Changkong directly stated his name, also intentionally mentioning his status as a Guest Elder of the Xia Yan family, which wielded considerable power within the Great Flame Empire, potentially deterring anyone with ill intentions.
"A Guest Elder of the Xia Yan family..." The snow robe woman nodded; although she hadnât been in the Great Flame Empire for long, she knew who the power holders were.
The black-robed man before her seemed to be in his thirties, possessed pseudo-Divine Skills, and boasted no mean strengthâqualifications necessary for a Guest Elder of the Xia Yan family.
The woman spoke with a solemn expression, "This Blood Divine Seed can only be used and refined by those of the specific family lineageâit is of no use to you... If you hand it over to me, I will owe you a favor, and should it be within my power to repay, I certainly will."
