"50 Trillion."
The number hung in the air, a cosmic hammer blow that silenced the entire auction hall.
".....?!!!"
The collective gasp was audible. Everyone from the low-level nobles to the most powerful rulers shifted in their seats, their expressions a mixture of shock and disbelief.
"Does this king know the value of money?" someone whispered, the hushed tone barely concealing a sense of awe.
Matilda turned to Sunny. "Are you really that wealthy?" she asked, her voice laced with a dangerous skepticism.
Sunny scoffed, a flicker of a smile on his lips:
"Are you backing down?" he retorted, his eyes holding hers with a playful challenge.
A soft chuckle escaped Matilda.
"This is the supreme auction. If you canât back up the money youâre bidding, youâll be banned for life. Not even your five generations will be able to enter." Her words were a warning, a final chance for Sunny to retract his outrageous bid.
"Are you saying I donât have the money?" Sunny asked, his voice low as he turned fully to face her, the playful edge gone from his tone.
"Yes," she said without hesitation.
"Those with money always dream of having more. But you... youâre spending it like itâs common sand."
"Well..."
Sunny leaned back in his seat, a smug expression on his face.
"...I already have a lot, so whatâs the issue with spending it? If you donât have it, you can back down."
"You!" Matildaâs face flushed with anger, but before she could say another word, a chime rang out in her mind.
DING!
She paused, staring at the message that appeared on her Cosmic Brain.
[Gabriel: Let it go. There are more items ahead; letâs give him the twin rings.]
A deep sigh escaped her as she reluctantly subsided, her eyes still locked on Sunny with a silent promise of future retribution.
"50 Trillion going once!" Brittneyâs voice, now tinged with a new level of excitement, echoed through the hall as she scanned the crowd.
"50 Trillion going twice!"
Still, no one dared to raise a bid, the astronomical number a barrier no one was willing to cross.
"50 Trillion going thrice!" Brittneyâs gaze lingered on Sunny for a moment, a silent question in her eyes.
âIs this guy wealthier than the top three nations?â she thought, a sense of wonder filling her.
"Sold to King God Wolf of the Beastify nation!"
A genuine smile broke across Brittneyâs face. "King God Wolf, are you paying now or after the auction?"
"I will pay now."
Before Sunny could even stand, a beautiful lady walked toward him, a small POS terminal resting on her palm. She took the card, and swiped it.
[Payment received: 50 Trillion.]
The notification sent a new wave of shock through the hall.
"How is that possible?!" Austin exclaimed.
"50 trillion is a huge amount! The transaction should take at least 24 hours, right?"
"Yeah," Falkor nodded in agreement, his eyes wide as he turned to Sunny. "How did you do it, God Wolf?"
Sunny held up the golden black card.
Falkorâs eyes widened. "This? I havenât seen such a card before!"
"Yes," another ruler chimed in.
"What card is this?"
"This card doesnât belong in this galaxy," Sunny lied with a perfectly straight face. "I can send and receive any amount with this card. That is the only information I can give." He then calmly slipped the card back into his pocket.
Falkor and the other rulers exchanged glances, a mixture of bewilderment and respect on their faces, and could only nod in response.
Sunny knew he couldnât reveal the truth: that the system itself had given him the card.
Just then, two attendants walked toward him, each holding a tray. He took the two rings, and they departed.
"Here."
Josephine took one of the rings, turned to Ellen, and handed it to her.
"Itâs yours, dear. Put it on."
Ellen, after a moment of thought, slipped the ring onto her pinky finger. Josephine smiled, a look of pure joy on her face, and turned her attention back to the stage.
The moment the ring was on, a new series of notifications appeared in Sunnyâs mind.
{Congratulations! Master has completed the first Hell-difficulty Quest: Spend 20 Trillion.}
{Masterâs health and celestial energy have been linked with another.}
Sunny frowned inwardly. âHey! I bought her the rings, why didnât I complete the sixth quest?â
{Sixth Quest: Master must spend 5 Trillion on any of his family members. Current family members: Ellen, Josephine, and Star.}
{Master bought the Twin Rings... but not for any family member.}
âWait... because I am wearing one of the rings, and I didnât give her the complete set?! System, you are an asshole.â
{"....?!!"}
The system was left utterly dumbfounded by the accusation.
{Congratulations, Master! You have spent more than the required amount and have gained a reward.}
âOh... now youâre bribing me.â Sunny thought, a smirk on his face.
{Due to the high amount of extra spending, Master has gained a high-grand weapon: Retracting Dagger.}
{Retracting Dagger: +5,000 in Attack Speed. +1,000 in Attack. When an attack hits, attack damage increases by 2,000. The user will be able to summon it back if thrown or dropped.}
âOh... okay, Iâll take the bribe. This will come in handy,â Sunny inwardly nodded in satisfaction.
"The next auction on the list!"
Brittneyâs voice pulled everyoneâs attention back to the stage. A new attendant, walked to the center with a tray. But on the tray was not a weapon, not a treasure, but...
"An egg?!"
The whole hall was stunned, Sunny included.
"Yes! This is an Egg! But not just any egg!" Brittney announced with a bright smile, activating her Cosmic Brain to display the itemâs information for all to see.
[Name: Infinite.]
[Race: ???.]
[Rank: ???.]
[Strength: ???.]
[Agility: ???.]
[Stamina: ???.]
[Defense: Immune to Physical Damage.]
[Attack: 100,000.]
[Energy: ???.]
[Magic Resistance: Immune to Magic.]
Sunny was dumbfounded. âIsnât this thing overpowered?! And itâs just an egg!!!â he thought to himself.
"You all see that?! The gods found it at the edge of the galaxy! No one knows how to hatch it, and the egg is clearly indestructible! Only elemental energy could damage it, but even after attacking it with countless elements, it refused to crack. Maybe some of you might know how to hatch it! Think about it: having such an ally will be incredibly beneficial!"
âSheâs asking us to buy something thatâs clearly useless,â Sunny mused. âWithout hatching the egg, whatâs the gain? Maybe the system will have more information.â
{Name: Infinite.}
{Race: Angel.}
{Rank: ???.}
{Strength: ???.}
{Agility: ???.}
{Stamina: ???.}
{Defense: Immune to Physical Damage.}
{Attack: 100,000.}
{Energy: ???.}
{Magic Resistance: Immune to Magic.}
{Skill: +50% reduction in all damage. +100% in all attacks. +50% attack against darkness enemies. Void State: Become invincible with 100% defense and slowly regenerate health. When Void State is deactivated, all stats gain +100,000 in five minutes. Holy Light: Attack any target by bypassing their defense.}
Sunny almost fell out of his seat as he stared at the list of skills.
âThis?! An angel?!!! Itâs clearly undefeated!!â he screamed inwardly.
âHey! Can I hatch it?â
{Master can, if he unlocks his ten bloodlines.}
{If Master is planning on hatching the egg through any other means, it is completely and utterly impossible.}
".....?!"
Sunny was stunned. "You donât have to go that far."
{Oh, yeah... Master has a 0.00000000001% chance of hatching it. Thatâs better, right?}
"...?!"
Sunnyâs face was a mixture of shock and frustration.
_
"Ahem! The starting bid is 1,000,000 galaxy crystals!" Brittney yelled, her gaze sweeping over the now-quiet hall.
âThis is a useless thing; Iâll be happy if someone gets it for even 2 million,â she thought.
"Five Million!"
"...?!!"
All heads turned to the voice. The hall was stunned, once again.
