As Su Xiaocai logged off, the three professors exchanged smiles: "I wonder who it is, seems like they have a lot of knowledge. Could they be from a laboratory?"
"Maybe theyâre from the front line, who knows. Thereâs a recorded video, canât be faked."
Getting a certificate felt like taking a short trip.
Su Xiaocai exited the New World, opened her eyes, and Xiao Wanzi handed her a food basket, "Youâve been in there a long time, havenât eaten anything."
"Thanks, darling, but I need to hit the bathroom first."
Su Xiaocai only slept two hours last night and downed several cups of strong tea to stay awake. Once out of the exam room, she couldnât hold it any longer.
After the bathroom, she grabbed the basket, picked up Huahua, and rushed to the laboratory site.
The laboratory was under military lockdown, sealed off.
The underground lab was huge and not yet fully explored. The ground above was once a private hospital, conveniently owned by the Min Family.
Since everyone from the Min Family had to be investigated, the hospitalâs operations were temporarily suspended. Maybe because of this, things underground were exposed, likely mingling with the invading insect swarm, so they went unnoticed.
Holding the basket, Su Xiaocai ate a meat sandwich as Huahua obediently followed on a leash made of Insect Slaughter Alloyâotherwise, it would snap the leash with one swipe.
Converting it into money was painful.
"You better work hard. Here, youâll be fed daily and become a round ball."
The escorting staff looked down at the chubby bundle, wondering if it could get any rounder.
The intense gaze caught Huahuaâs attention, it turned its head, eyes slitted, and let out a self-proclaimed mighty meow, fiercely cute.
The staff held back laughter, so adorable.
"Is the hospital above run solely by the Min Family?" On Blue Star, theyâre not local, so it would be inconvenient to move around, right?
"The wealthiest on Blue Star and several businessmen have shares in it. Their stakes are small, lacking managerial control."
Typically, shareholders only care about profits. Theyâre unaware of secret projects, claiming ignorance.
Su Xiaocai withheld opinion, idly asking: "Whoâs the wealthiest of Blue Star?"
"Yang Tingzhen."
"A woman? Single?"
"Yes. No husband, has a son."
"Impressive," Su Xiaocai commented succinctly.
They first visited where Greed had been marked. Entry was through a blasted hole. The lab had partially collapsed, dividing it into sections; it was inherently separated by secret rooms.
After finishing the meat sandwich, Su Xiaocai grabbed some nuts, washed her hands with clean water, slipped on shoe covers, and put Huahua in another basket. She stepped over the seal into the scene of the Motherâs emergence. After a series of fierce battles, the air-raid shelter was fully visible.
The staff handed Su Xiaocai a work ID.
Su Xiaocai hung it around her neck; it was a bit cumbersome, so she tucked it into her chest pocket.
"The human hiding the Insect Mother, what identity?" Su Xiaocai took photos at the scene, using the live broadcast device as a camcorder, entering a private channel, synchronizing data to the New World, backed up by Wisdom 03.
"He was a deputy president of Min Hospital. Itâs said that due to outstanding performance, he was transferred to another star."
"Is there information on his departure?"
"Yes, but after that, he vanished from the world." The staff continued, "He disappeared while making a transfer on another planet."
Such disappearances occur tens of thousands of times each year.
Some disappear voluntarily, some flee, and some are genuinely abducted by wrongdoers.
Su Xiaocai: "Any rumors about him before he vanished?"
