Chapter 32: Chapter 32 Su Qiaoqiao
The girl is named Su Qiaoqiao, and at this moment, she is in disarray in the wind.
She just joked about spending the night with this person, never expecting those five thugs to be worse than trash, all taken down by one person in an instant.
Taking a turn, Lin Xi pulled the dazed girl and had already arrived on the main street.
A hundred meters to the left, there was a Seven Days Inn.
Su Qiaoqiao burst into tears, and Lin Xi, not wanting to forcibly pull her, said, "Crying wonât help. You must keep your promises to others, otherwise, donât make them lightly."
"Big brother, wasnât I forced to?" Su Qiaoqiao stopped crying, and explained with a grievance.
"Besides, whoâs to blame you for just standing by?"
"Itâs not my fault either, and Iâm young. What youâre doing is illegal!"
"Letâs go, stop explaining, weâre getting a room." Lin Xi didnât care, and insisted.
Su Qiaoqiao slipped her hand out of Lin Xiâs arm and suddenly smiled slyly, "Big brother, I donât recall ever agreeing to spend time with you."
"Then in that case, Iâm busy today, maybe Iâll accompany you another time."
"Bye-bye, big brother." Su Qiaoqiao smiled brightly and turned to leave.
Lin Xi was taken aback, not expecting this girl to get the upper hand, though he didnât really intend to take the girl away.
Although she just said she was young, Lin Xiâs sharp eyes could tell she was definitely of age, just looking petite.
If they really went, he would feel a bit guilty after all.
But Su Qiaoqiao didnât get far before she turned back and rushed to Lin Xiâs side, linking her arm with his, leaning against him, and urging, "Big brother, there are still bad people over there looking to catch me, pretend to be my boyfriend and take me away from here."
"I donât have any money with me, this ring was left by my mom. Iâm giving it to you now as a reward."
Su Qiaoqiao took off the gold ring on her index finger. The ring had a blue gemstone, twinkling brilliantly, clearly of great value.
Lin Xi didnât take the ring, looking ahead fifty meters, where a black Hummer had stopped, and four or five men in black suits and white pants got out.
These people were well-trained, with sharp eyes, far superior to the red-haired and yellow-haired ones before, and now they looked tense.
"Big brother, please help me!" Su Qiaoqiao pleaded.
"Why should I help you?" Lin Xi stood still, this girl had just pulled one over on him.
"Waaaa..., those people are loan sharks, they want to take me back to make me work for them, to serve others. Big brother, I really donât want to go back, waaaa..." Su Qiaoqiao was very scared and began to sob gently.
This little troublemaker is a headache; Lin Xi hadnât even been with her for ten minutes, but now two groups had come to capture him; it was ridiculous.
The key issue is, you canât even tell which of her words are true.
Of course, Lin Xi wasnât afraid of trouble, but he wouldnât go looking for it voluntarily, either.
"You borrowed money from them?" Lin Xi asked back.
"Yes, yes." Su Qiaoqiao nodded.
"Why borrow money from them?" Lin Xi asked. Usurious loans not only have terrifyingly high interest rates, but the people behind them almost always have underground connections.
A young girl owing them money is quite puzzling.
"It wasnât me who borrowed it; it was my dad. Ever since my mom got sick and passed away, he drinks and gambles every day, and doesnât go to work. Then he borrowed a lot of money, and he often beats and scolds me, saying mom left because of me."
"And today, dad went too far, he wanted to pawn me off to the loan sharks. I managed to escape while they werenât looking."
"Big brother, I donât have any other choice; can you take me away from here?" Su Qiaoqiao pleaded pitifully.
"Alright, Iâll take the ring for now." Lin Xi replied.
Su Qiaoqiao inwardly rolled her eyes, doesnât this guy have any conscience? Iâve told him such a tragic story, yet he still takes my ring.
But actually, this ring wasnât left by her mother. She didnât care much for it, so she had no regrets giving it away.
Lin Xi turned, and when he held Su Qiaoqiaoâs slender waist, he clearly felt her body tense up, "Act natural, or weâll blow our cover."
"Okay." Su Qiaoqiao softly replied and said nothing more, following Lin Xi as they walked away from the men in black.
On the other side, in front of the Hummer, one of the men asked, "Brother Leopard, where do you think she ran off to?"
"Stop asking, just hurry and find her. If we canât find her, howâll we explain ourselves to the boss?" another short-haired man replied.
"Hey, Brother Leopard, doesnât that person up ahead look like her?"
"Where?"
"The girl being held by that man in the tattered T-shirt..."
She hardly knows any men, so itâs impossible for her to be willingly embraced by a stranger.
"Letâs catch up and check it out," the short-haired man suggested, clinging to a thin possibility.
"Oh no, theyâre gaining on us." Su Qiaoqiaoâs face changed drastically; she could clearly feel the group of men rushing towards them.
Lin Xi didnât look back; he grabbed Su Qiaoqiaoâs hand and led her into the nearby alley.
As soon as they reached the alley, Su Qiaoqiao began sprinting frantically forward, with Lin Xi following at a leisurely pace.
Along the way, they passed the place where the five red-haired guys lay.
Seeing Lin Xi and Su Qiaoqiao running towards them, the red-haired five were so scared they huddled and pleaded for mercy, thinking they were about to be beaten again.
Once the two had run off, the five were left in a daze.
But soon after, five more big men came running to the spot and paused to ask, "Did you see a man and a woman run past here?"
The red-haired ones were overjoyed, thinking theyâd found allies, and replied happily, "They just ran past here; brothers, you gotta help us teach them a lesson!"
"Yeah, yeah, my boss is right; if that guy hadnât ambushed us, we wouldâve caught the girl already," one of the yellow-haired ones chimed in, but they didnât notice the short-haired manâs face flash with a touch of ruthlessness.
"Wipe them out," the short-haired man instructed one of his companions and then led the other three in pursuit of Lin Xi and Su Qiaoqiao.
"What?" The red-haired ones were bewildered.
Then they watched in disbelief as the remaining man in black and white pants, ignoring their cries, crippled them one by one with a kick.
"No way out?" Su Qiaoqiao was covered in sweat and breathless when Lin Xi stopped her from crashing into a wall.
This was a dead-end alley; there was no way forward.
"What do we do? I donât want to be taken back, big brother." Su Qiaoqiao was panicking, too scared to go back and find another way.
After all, they hadnât put much distance between themselves and the men in black. If they turned back, theyâd be caught before finding another way.
PS, it took quite a while to write this Chapter and it still doesnât feel right; finally got it done. Oh, and itâs Monday today, so Iâm asking for recommendation votes, votes, votes, and any tips would be appreciated too, though no pressure.
