Xara Seraphineâs POV
"SOLIDERS! ATTACK!!!"
His loyal soldiers materialised in an instant, shadows spilling across the battlefield as they charged toward her in waves.
The first wave came like a living tide: spears thrust, armour plates clinking in a metallic thunder.
Helmets gleamed red in the light, visors thrown back to reveal faces twisted with hunger and duty.
She simply raised her sword, her body sinking into a fluid stance, and... she danced?
Her posture folded into motion with impossible grace. The sword became an extension of her arm, a red comet that traced lethal calligraphy through the air.
Her feet slid across the soaked earth with balletic ease; she spun, arced, and pivoted as dozens fell and dozens more surged into the gap she carved.
Morganaâs grin widened, her eyes glowing with delight. "Now she got serious," she said with a chuckle that dripped with excitement.
My eyes widened even further when I saw... Mary.
She moved through the soldiers as if through water, not pausing, her blade singing. A soldier lunged with a pike; she stepped aside, the shaft biting wind, then twisted and snapped his neck with the swordâs pommel.
Another swung a halberdâshe ducked, the blade cleaving his throat as she rose, and his body tumbled like a rag into a growing heap.
She was dancing through the soldiers that came after herâhundreds, thousands, maybe tens of thousandsâit didnât matter. Her graceful movements cut through them like a river flowing in blood. Her hand swept upward, and hundreds of soldiers were carved clean in half.
Men screamed; some tried to grab her skirt, to pull her into the mass, but her blade answered every grasp with a flash, and the world turned redder.
She swept down, and their legs flew apart, severed as screams filled the sky.
She thrust, moved, and slid with terrifying speed, their chests bursting open as fountains of blood sprayed across the battlefield.
A thrust to a breastplate, a twist that turned a defender into a ragged heap, a slide that let her back past the next approaching line. Soldiers tried to surround her, to tie her down with nets and chains, but she sliced the cords midair and sent their hands flying.
Blood and shreds of cloth plastered her hair and face... the movement of her body was both beautiful and monstrous.
She laughed, ripping her shoes off, her bare feet pressing into the hot, wet blood. A violent shiver of ecstasy ran through her body.
The warmth rose to her calves, and she seemed to drink that heat into herself.
I felt my own body tremble, excitement crawling through my veins.
Hmm... maybe I should join her?
Slap!
I slapped myself. "The fuck you thinking, bitch!!"
Seeing his loyal soldiers turn into a blood nightmare, Alucard called out, "MY KIN... COME TO AID ME!!"
Alucardâs kin.... his entire familyâappeared.
I gulped as the sky filled with silhouetted shapes: vampires and mixed races, wings and cloaks blotting out the light, a wet rain of blood and shadowâhis own bloodline gathering.
Things were getting serious.
Would she be able to handle it?
The ground was already a red sea, filled with the blood of millions. She stood alone in the middle of it, her body slick with gore. Yet even in that moment, her posture was calm, as steady as a pounding heart, the blood around her unnaturally still.
Splash... Splash...
Alucardâs boots disturbed the blood-pool as he walked toward Mary. "Colour me surprised... I never expected you to grow this much. Even going so far as to hurt me... Do you want the throne that badly, darling?"
Mary did not answer at once. She stared blankly at the blood as if it were nothing but stain and matter, then murmured, "Throne? I couldnât care less about that..." Her fingers drifted to her stomach with a tenderness that did not fit the carnage she was before.
For a second, I lost myself, as if I saw another woman inside her.
"I need to give my baby a better life."
Alucardâs eyes widened in shock.
I was shocked too. "She has a baby?"
That was new to me as well.
How long had she been carrying this?
How could I not have known?
Morgana nodded. "More like... she had a baby."
"Huh?" I was completely flabbergasted. What the hell was happening?
Alucardâs eyes turned to amusement, "Hah... bitch, youâre fucking delusional. That weakling deserved to die. No one, LITERALLY NO ONE, needs a child that weak as that bitch.
You should be grateful she died before I could snap her spine. If you feel so lonely, you should have spread your damn legs before me and begged for another worthy child, bitchâ"
Before he could finish, Mary reappeared and tore his head off again.
Everyone flinched. His kin surged forward with full force. Her eyes were a blade as she caught a manâs heart mid-kick and then tore a womanâs body with her teeth, chewing through flesh before the crowd could rush her.
Ripping of a womanâs head with her bare mouth like a monster and cutting off anyone who reaches her close, but... these were his blood!
Itâs not something she could just easily kill off after all, they would regenerate too!!
Soon she was swallowed up by the group!!
"Sis," a strained voice called.
Just then, Morgana stood and said to me, "If you want to live... do not see whatâs going to happen... Itâs for you, little girl. Donât die." She vanished as if she had never been there.
My body crouched down almost instinctively, and I heard a voice:
"Arc...ane!"
SSSSHHHHHHHHH!!
A bright red light shot into the sky, ripping through the heavens like a blade tearing the veil of reality itself. The entire world seemed to stopâair shuddered, space itself cracked, the blood-soaked earth groaned as if crying out.
"ARRHH!!"
Chucckkkkk!!
And...
"ARRHHMMâ"
And... there was no sound.
Nothing.
I gulped nervously, sweat dripping down my temple. Not even the echo of a scream or flutter of wings.
The battlefield, once roaring with chaos, had been devoured by silence so absolute it gnawed into my skull.
My heart thundered in my chest. My curiosity clawed at me until I couldnât hold back. Slowlyâterrifyingly slowlyâI turned and peeked from behind the cracked pillar. My face twisted in both dread and... excitement.
The smell hit first.
The stench of blood was overwhelming, the iron taste of it burning against my tongue.
I couldnât see it yet. The red light still drowned everything, a curtain of fire that blinded the world. Untilâ
It dimmed.
And thenâ
I saw it.
A single strand of red hair, flowing in the air like fire caught in the wind. My gaze followed it, and then... my breath froze.
Alucardâs body.
No... not a body... A husk!
A sucked-out corpse!!
He dangled in midair, suspended by a hand. His skin was dry and cracked like old parchment. His once-black hair had turned brittle white, strands falling like ash.
Around him, his kinâhis entire family, his army of mixed racesâwere nothing but butchered remnants... Limbs... Faces... Pieces of meat were scattered across the endless sea of blood.
The battlefield had become a graveyard of horror.
His husk swayed back and forth, twitching like a puppet with its strings cut. For a moment, it seemed something invisible was still sucking the last dregs of life from him. Thenâ
Crack.
His body collapsed inward on itself, disintegrating to ash. Dust scattered on the crimson wind, erased from existence.
The figure holding him flickered. For a second, her true form bled through the blur... Then the haze cloaked her again.
And there she stood.
Over the blood of millions... Over the sacred blood of the Royals themselves.
My eyes... I couldnât blink. I just blankly stared at her.
The same woman who once proclaimed herself with a ridiculous, cringe-worthy name.
But now...
The entire worlds... had just witnessed the birth ofâ
Bloody Mary.
The name itself now written in blood. Bloody... beyond doubt.
