The path of salvation was long and difficult, but Sylvia never stopped walking. Every time she wanted to give up, every time she was cold and lonely, every time the skies thundered with lightning, her fingers would unconsciously grip the hilt of her sword. She longed for that illusory reunion, striving toward it, trying to become light itself.
Over time, the great mission of salvation became engraved into her soul, becoming part of her truth. Even the Undying Monarchs of the Endless Nether Realm would be shaken by her presence. She was light. She was courage. She was the gratitude of countless lives, worlds, and planes.
That light was so beautiful, it couldnāt be stared at directly.
"How⦠how can this be?!"
The immortal looked down in disbelief at the āholy swordā piercing through its body, confusion written all over its face.
But soon, that shock turned into mockery. The immortal prepared to strike back. A Seventh-Ring Sorcerer could bend life and deathāunless faced with a higher tier authority, like the source of death itself in the Endless Nether Realm, they were unafraid of any damage.
"Foolish insectā¦!!"
The power to alter laws surged again across the world. The immortal broke free of the swordās restraint and resumed its fierce battle with Sylvia.
A cold yet warm āflowerā bloomed in the skies of the soul planeāit was the collision of laws, an immortal battle that transcended life and death. At times, entire planes collapsed; at others, chaos reset itself.
The battlefield was soaked in the blood of the undying. Two Seventh-Ring towers flew out from the void, gathering infinite light and heat, firing runes of destruction that wiped out countless undead.
"Somethingās wrong."
As time passed, the immortal who had believed victory was assured suddenly noticed something strange in its body. Its expression changed drastically.
"My source⦠how can it beā"
Shing!
At the perfect moment, Sylviaās sword, forged from her will to save, carrying the gratitude of countless worlds, severed the immortalās very concept of existence.
That was a path the immortal never couldāve predicted.
It was an impossible miracle.
But now, the hero, in the form of a sword, delivered the final blow to the immortal.
"Master Sorcerer⦠did I⦠win?"
Sylvia fell from the sky, collapsing on the shattered ground of the Nether Realm. Her face was pale, her body soaked in blood. No one answered her. All she could hear was the eerie wailing of the wind.
Loneliness rushed in.
Tears welled in her eyes once more.
She was strong. The hero held back her tears and silently stood up again. Looking toward the sky of the Nether Realm, she sensed countless gazes watching her from the thick, oppressive death energy.
They were the overseers of other soul planes in the Endless Nether Realm. Some were even more powerful than Seventh-Ring Sorcerersābeings said to have reached the Eighth Ring or even the Ninth, the apex.
"Master Sorcerer⦠I think Iāve become as stubborn as you."
"I canāt just ignore the pain of other worldsā¦"
Sylvia staggered to her feet and, beneath all those watching eyes, accepted the "legacy" of the dead immortalāthe authority over the soul plane of the sorcerer world.
Only then did those countless stares withdraw.
Sylvia had no desire to control anything. But she knew if she didnāt accept it, the soul plane would soon be claimed by another immortal.
"I need⦠I need timeā¦"
Dragging her exhausted body, she forced a bitter smile.
She was startled by her own thoughts. She actually wanted to purge the Undying Monarchs of the Endless Nether Realm, rewrite its laws, and ensure that no tragedy like the one that befell the sorcerer world would ever happen again.
"If Master Sorcerer found out, he would definitely scold meā¦"
"But now⦠Master Sorcerer canāt stop me anymoreā¦"
Her voice suddenly quieted.
Then, the sound of water drops falling echoed softly.
ā¦
Soul and truthāthe necessary path to becoming immortal.
Eternal life. Undying existence. These were the privileges of the immortals.
Endless time wore down their desires and humanity. The only thing they sought was further power, greater rank.
But understanding it on their own was too difficult. So, the immortals took shortcuts. They claimed and managed the soul planes of the Endless Nether Realm. Through that, they connected with the Endless Nether itself, peering into the oldest mysteries.
As time passed, the Nether Realm developed laws to restrict the actions of the immortalsāsuch as prohibiting them from corrupting living worlds at will, or limiting the number of soul planes one could controlāto maintain basic order.
But how could the instincts of the Nether Realm truly restrain the immortals?
Even the Nether Realm itself represented the most terrifying catastrophe. Merely approaching other worlds would cause turbulence and destruction.
During her interplanar travels, Sylvia had seen far too much.
So, she decided to change everything. To rewrite this flawed world from its very foundation.
She would⦠reverse the order of creation itself.
ā¦
"How dare she! Who gave her the right?!"
"Kill her!"
"Then weāll just destroy this entire plane!"
After years of silence, the hero known as Sylvia Crowfield launched an attack on the other soul planes, erasing one immortal after another.
At first, the immortals watched coldly. They assumed Sylvia only wanted the Nether Realmās authority. To them, it was naturalāthe strong should rule more planes. So, no one tried to stop her.
But soon, they realized something was wrong.
Sylvia never stopped.
Even when the number of planes under her control hit the Nether Realmās legal limit, she continued killing at the same pace.
Naturally, her actions triggered a joint counterattack from the immortals.
Seventh-Ring immortals banded together. Eighth-Ring powerhouses joined in. Sylvia was subjected to an eternal hunt.
And yetā¦
The outcome shocked them all.
She was slaughtering immortals. But somehow, her actions still aligned with the truth of salvation.
Sylvia continued to walk her path of justice.
She fought battle after battle, retreating decisively when needed. And through these hunts, she miraculously broke into the Eighth-Ring tier.
Her blade grew heavier. Each strike carried the weight of vast worlds. Heavy enough to make even the undying perish.
"Have you ever heard the weeping of the world?"
With this question, her sword of salvation carved away a portion of the Endless Nether Realm.
Some immortals backed down. Some grew curious.
Even a Ninth-Ring beingāhailed as a creatorāentered the fray to battle the hero.
But Sylvia no longer ran.
She gave everything, igniting herself as fuel to unleash the light of salvation.
"Strength enhanced!"
"Agility enhanced!"
She didnāt use any complex sorcery.
The hero simply cast two of the most basic zero-ring spells on herself.
Yet when she drew her holy sword, its speed surpassed time, its weight tore through space, and it gathered the will of countless living worlds to carve a path of undying light into the Endless Nether Realm.
