Chapter 1240 Edward Jackson Is Here

Chapter 1240: Chapter 1240: Edward Jackson Is Here Chapter 1240: Chapter 1240: Edward Jackson Is Here As she was on the bus, Enna checked the listening device again and discovered that it too was damaged; only the light was still blinking. However, the frequency of the blinking was incorrect, clearly indicating that it had been water damaged.

If it hadn’t recorded anything, then her leg injury would have been in vain!

Scott Harris knew what she was anxious about and immediately reassured her, “Ms. Clark, rest assured, the listening device did break. But before it broke, it had recorded your conversation with Princess Scarlett, which should serve as evidence.”

“Phew.” Enna Clark let out a sigh of relief, her expression relaxed, and she released his arm, “That’s good, that’s very good.”

“Ms. Clark, shall I take you to the hospital first?” Scott Harris was more concerned about the wound on her leg. Lord Baron had said that he would return to the country soon, and if he saw her leg injury, wouldn’t he scold him to death?

However, Enna didn’t care about it, her mind was preoccupied with other things, “There’s no need for that. I’ll just have my personal doctor come to the house to check it out. Right now, I want to go back and listen to the recording and organize everything. Mr. Harris, please take me back first.”

“But…” Scott Harris definitely wanted her to go to the hospital for a thorough checkup, but seeing her exhausted appearance, he still didn’t have the heart to contradict her and resignedly said, “All right, Ms. Clark, please get into the car first, and I shall arrange for a personal doctor. But let’s agree that you first let the personal doctor examine your leg injury before getting busy with anything else.”

Enna Clark picked up on his concern and lifted the corners of her mouth, returning his smile with one of her own, agreeing crisply, “Okay.”

Only then did Scott Harris feel somewhat relieved. After helping Enna Clark into the car, he drove towards the villa.

The drive from the city center to the Habsden family’s villa didn’t take much time, and soon, the car was entering the villa district.

As soon as Enna Clark got out of the car and walked into the two-story white cottage, she unexpectedly ran into someone waiting for her at the entrance hall.

“Little Uncle?”

Enna Clark looked at the man in the entrance hall in utter surprise, unable to help but call out.

When had Little Uncle arrived?

Yet, the man who always had a calm smile on his deep-set face bore no smile now, obviously angry, “Enna, what have you been hiding from me these last few days?”

“I…”

“Such a serious incident occurred, why didn’t you tell me? Do you still think of me as your uncle?” Edward Jackson had never spoken to her in such a stern tone before. This time, he truly was furious with her, which was why he spoke to her so severely.

Having said that, he then noticed the injury on her knee. In usually steady hazel eyes, the flash of anger halted, and what was initially an intent to sternly teach her a lesson turned into, “Hayes, prepare the car!”

“Yes, Master.” The man standing to the side, almost unnoticed, immediately went to prepare the car.

Edward Jackson, holding Enna Clark’s wrist, said irritably, “I am taking you to the hospital!”

This was the first opportunity Enna Clark had to speak, and she grabbed his hand, refusing to go, “Little Uncle, I…I still have something to do.”

“What could possibly be more important than the wound on your leg?”

Enna Clark didn’t know how to explain to him, but Edward Jackson had already figured out the situation without her saying anything. His handsome face, which had grown more attractive with time, bore a deep look of helplessness, “Is Baron Lawrence that important? Is he worth the risk you have taken for him?”

If he hadn’t asked the Habsden family’s contacts in Country W, he wouldn’t have known that her car accident was a ruse intended to secure evidence against Princess Scarlett!

And the root cause of all this was to gain the approval of Baron Lawrence’s grandfather!
