Gu Sheng pushed Ji Ziyue away with a slight look of disdain, trying to keep her at a distance.
Ji Ziyue stumbled backward, almost falling.
She shot Gu Sheng a glare, then sat down nearby and sulked.
"Whatâs wrong with you?"
Ji Ziyue pouted and asked discontentedly.
"Sigh..."
Gu Sheng let out a long sigh, not wanting to get too entangled with others.
He just wanted to cultivate quietly and improve his strength.
"Nothing, I just want peace and quiet here at Zhuo Peak."
Gu Sheng replied flatly.
As soon as he finished speaking, Gu Sheng noticed a sudden flash of seven-colored light in the sky.
"Look!"
Gu Sheng pointed to the radiant light in the sky.
Ji Ziyue looked up, only to see several figures descending from the heavens. It was none other than Elder Ji Hong from the Ji family and a group of powerful figures from Shaking Light Sacred Land.
"Why have they come here?"
Ji Ziyue asked, puzzled upon seeing the arrivals.
"How should I know? These old folks really have too much time on their hands."
Gu Sheng shook his head with an air of disdain.
"You... Thatâs an elder from the Ji family! Can you show some respect?"
Ji Ziyue was evidently a little irritated.
"Fine, Iâll be respectful. Elder Ji Hong is here to check on the old madman. Happy now?"
Gu Sheng said this and turned his body away, ignoring Ji Ziyue.
Ji Ziyueâs eyes flashed with surprise upon hearing Gu Shengâs words.
She hadnât expected the old madmanâs situation to draw so much attention.
Even figures from the Ji family and the Shaking Light Sacred Land had been alarmed.
Gu Sheng felt the silence behind him and assumed Ji Ziyue had quietly left. He turned his head to take a look.
All he saw was Ji Ziyue sitting on the ground, staring blankly.
"Hey, arenât you going to say hello to your familyâs elder?"
Gu Sheng tilted his face and asked.
"No, let them talk amongst themselves. That has nothing to do with me."
Ji Ziyue replied.
"Exactly, all they do is add trouble for us. If we go, theyâll make us welcome themâitâs such a hassle."
Gu Sheng turned his head away again and sighed slightly.
"Hey? Since youâre bored anyway, why not go wander somewhere else? I havenât left Zhuo Peak in days."
Ji Ziyue reached out and pulled Gu Sheng forward once again.
"Youâre not a kid anymore; why do you always need me to accompany you?"
Gu Sheng said with some dissatisfaction.
Suddenly, two disciples from Zhuo Peak hurried over to find Gu Sheng and Ji Ziyue.
"Senior Brother Gu, Senior Sister Ji, the elders have instructed you two to go welcome several great cultivators."
The two disciples gasped for breath as they relayed the message.
"Uh..."
Gu Sheng shook his head helplessly.
Meanwhile, Ji Ziyue couldnât help but laugh.
"See? If youâd followed me to roam around, you wouldnât have ended up dealing with this mess."
Gu Sheng shot her a glare but eventually stood up.
"Letâs go back."
Gu Sheng said, following Ji Ziyue as they returned to the location where the Ji family elder and Shaking Light Sacred Landâs Holy Daughter were gathered.
"Elder, Holy Daughter."
Ji Ziyue and Gu Sheng respectfully greeted the important figures.
Elder Ji Hong nodded slightly. "Ziyue, how have you been at Zhuo Peak lately?"
"Very well, thank you for your concern, Elder."
Ji Ziyue nodded with a smile on her face.
Ji Hong continued to nod. "Hmm, Zhuo Peak has great potential. Study hard in the future, got it?"
"Yes, I will abide by the elderâs teachings."
Ji Ziyue replied.
Hearing this, Gu Sheng felt a wave of disdain in his heart.
After all, Ji Ziyue was someone with an incredibly playful nature. Studying seriously? That was downright impossible!
"Gu Sheng, please serve tea to these senior cultivators."
The nearby Li Ruoyu instructed.
"Understood."
Although Gu Sheng wasnât thrilled about it, he still followed Li Ruoyuâs order.
"No need, Iâll do it."
Ji Ziyue playfully darted toward the back hall.
At this moment, the great cultivators began discussing the old madman.
"The old madmanâs cultivation is immeasurably profound. Although his behavior is odd, he always manages to stir up no small commotion."
One of the powerful cultivators remarked.
Another cultivator nodded in agreement. "Indeed, his strength was among the best several millennia ago, though his actions remain difficult for anyone to grasp."
Elder Ji Hong and Shaking Light Sacred Landâs Holy Daughter listened nearby, both visibly serious.
Standing off to the side, Gu Sheng didnât interject; he merely listened quietly.
He was well aware that, with the old madmanâs abilities, he could effortlessly outmatch these so-called mighty figures.
"Gu Sheng, come here."
Elder Ji Hong suddenly noticed Gu Sheng and beckoned him over.
Gu Sheng froze in place for a moment, then walked forward.
"Gu Sheng, you once mentioned that the old madman taught you the Heavenly Gang Step Skill, correct?"
Elder Ji Hong inquired.
Gu Sheng nodded. "Yes, Elder."
Elder Ji Hong pondered for a moment before saying, "The old madmanâs situation has become very unstable. We need you to closely monitor him, and immediately inform us of any abnormalities."
"Monitor him? That..."
Gu Sheng felt exasperated. "Elder, the old madman is practically a godlike existence. Even if I watch him, what can I possibly do? Youâre speaking as if monitoring and âlikingâ him would achieve anything."
"Whatâs this about monitoring and liking? What nonsense are you talking about?"
Li Ruoyu, standing next to them, scolded Gu Sheng for his irreverent tone.
Gu Sheng chuckled sheepishly. "Nothing... nothing. You wouldnât understand; âlikingâ is just slang we young people use. Forget about it."
"Teaâs here."
Ji Ziyue smiled brightly as she brought over a few cups of tea, setting them beside the senior cultivators.
And so, the great cultivators who had come to visit the old madman gathered in Zhuo Peakâs main hall, drinking tea and conversing.
As for the sleeping old madman, he continued to sleep, entirely ignoring their presence.
