CapĂtulo 2442: Chapter 216: Tianyin (Part 3)
âAmitabha, everyone, please calm down.â
Upon hearing Buddha Tianyinâs words, the monks in the temple indeed stopped and turned their heads towards Buddha Tianyin.
True Man Gai also frowned slightly and said unhappily:
âTrue Man Taiyi is also seeking to resolve the disaster of the Supreme True Buddha, hence he had no choice but to practice this Dharma. As the saying goes, know your enemy and yourself, and you will win a hundred battles. Whatâs wrong with that? Itâs certainly better than you people, who guard this place every day, unwilling to concern yourselves with outside affairs.â
Evidently, True Man Gai bore quite a bit of resentment towards these monks.
Yet, Buddha Tianyin smiled peacefully and then dismissed the monks.
In the great hall of the temple, only three people remained, along with Yan Poluo, who then spoke with a slight sigh:
âTrue Man Gai, Layman Taiyi, please do not take offense. In this small thousand world, what is prevalent is the Small Mahayanaâs path, and thus most of us focus on our own transcendence. If not for the Supreme True Buddha already at our doorstep, they might not even be willing to form a formation with me to face the enemy.â
Wang Ba, upon hearing this, seemed to be deep in thought.
He understood that Buddhism differentiates between Small Mahayana and Mahayana; the former emphasizes personal transcendence, while the latter focuses on alleviating all beings. The former could be described as self-benefitting, while the latter is benefitting others.
According to Buddha Tianyin, the reason why the monks here donât concern themselves with worldly matters, and seldom participated in secular affairs before, is because their Cultivation follows the path of Small Mahayana, solely focusing on personal transcendence.
Wang Ba was somewhat puzzled and asked:
âJust now, the High Monks all stated that the Supreme True Buddhaâs Dharma is a deviation, but I wonder what exactly is peculiar about the Dharma of the Supreme True Buddha? During my Cultivation, I havenât noticed any difference, thus I am curious and wish to seek wisdom from the Buddha Lord.â
Buddha Tianyin heard this and smiled, countering with a question:
âWhat have you been practicing?â
Wang Ba did not conceal and immediately replied: âThe Great Bliss Sutra, Liberation of Wisdom Sea Sutra, and Prajna Dharma Sutra, among others.â
Buddha Tianyin nodded upon hearing this and said:
âThis is indeed the orthodox Buddhism, consistent with the Middle Thousand World and Great Thousand World tradition, without any issue. However, the teachings of this sect are vastly different from those within the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm.â
Wang Ba couldnât help but ask with curiosity:
âWhat is the difference?â
Buddha Tianyin spoke each word clearly:
âThe path traversed by the Supreme True Buddha is Mahayana Buddhism.â
Wang Ba was momentarily taken aback:
âMahayana Buddhism? But the monks of the Supreme True Buddha, each embodying the three poisons, ruthless and indifferent, akin to Demon Cultivators, how could this be Mahayana Buddhism?â
Buddha Tianyin nodded slightly, then shook his head slightly:
âIt seems Layman indeed has profound knowledge of Buddhist Law, yet often, the teachings can be righteous, but when realized, they might not be as such.â
âBuddhismâs Mahayana path advocates Universal Salvation; great calamities and tribulations, only then can one achieve great merit and find great liberation. But if there are no calamities or tribulations, isnât there no one to become Buddha?â
âIn contrast, although Small Mahayana Buddhism appears selfish and self-serving, monks focus solely on righteousness, self-liberation, and attaining bliss, thus although seeming clumsy, it remains a steady path; albeit not all beings can become Buddha, it turns out to be the genuine self-rescue path of beings.â
âAnd those methods of Universal Salvation, if carried with obsession, are not righteous thoughts, but stubborn attachments. When obsession arises, the world narrows, then how can it truly embrace Universal Salvation?â
âTherefore, in our Cultivation, weâd rather shut our doors, avoiding worldly matters, than attract numerous disasters for self-gain.â
âAnd apparently, the Supreme True Buddha does not follow this approach.â
Wang Ba suddenly felt enlightened.
His prior predictions aligned quite closely with the otherâs words.
However, at that time, his understanding of the Buddhism within the Third Realm Sea was not clear enough. Now, through Buddha Tianyinâs explanation, it suddenly clicked into place, reminding him of a verse from a prior sage of Buddhism:
âThe body is a Bodhi Tree, the mind as clear as a mirror stand. Always strive to cleanse it, never let dust settle.â
In terms of sudden enlightenment, it is far less esoteric than another High Monk, yet it is precisely the true path for ordinary people to achieve liberation.
The Small Mahayana Buddhism practiced by monks in the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm, compared to Mahayana Buddhism, shares a similar underlying principle.
âSo, what youâre saying is, the teachings of the Supreme True Buddha are not flawed, but have been intentionally altered at the core by someone?â
Wang Ba couldnât resist saying.
âYoung friend certainly understands quickly.â
Buddha Tianyin nodded in commendation.
Yet Wang Ba did not smile, pondering briefly before solemnly and cautiously posing a question:
âThis individual, is it perhaps Tibo?â
Upon hearing this name, a slight ripple finally appeared on Buddha Tianyinâs face:
âYoung friend⊠you actually know this person?â
