Chapter 536: Chapter 509: Are You Satisfied?
In Moon Shadow Palace, Blanche and Elron were imprisoned in the main hall. Their hands were bound, and they wore heavy shackles on their feet, like common felons.
Although these restraints were made of iron, and an ordinary silver or Golden Knight would be able to break them, they were more than enough to restrain two Mages.
Whatâs more, to be on the safe side, Serdil had pierced two Black Nails into Elronâs body and legs, disrupting the flow of his Magic Power and preventing him from casting any Magic.
In addition, a five-man squad of guards, including two Golden Knights, stood guard at the entrance and around the perimeter, leaving the two of them no opportunity to escape.
The great commotion of Serdil leaving with her men told both of them that Ronin had arrived.
Although Blanche was touched, her face was a mask of anxiety and worry. Compounded by the blow from the death of her father, King Bruno, she looked utterly haggard and weak.
She clasped her hands to her chest and prayed, "Ronin... Heâll be okay, wonât he?"
Elron reassured her, "Donât worry, my lady. The Lordâs power is unfathomable. Heâll be fine."
Just as they were speaking, Ronin descended from the sky and landed in the courtyard, his immense speed kicking up a fierce gust of wind that spread in all directions.
"Whoâs there!"
The five Knights on guard shouted instinctively and drew their Longswords. But when they saw Ronin, their feet wouldnât move an inch.
Roninâs hawk-like gaze swept over the five men. In an instant, his Windâs Touch bound their legs and constricted around their throats like a python.
The five men could only stare, wide-eyed, at the terrifying scene before them. Unable to utter a single cry for help, they were strangled to death.
The sounds from outside startled Blanche and Elron inside. As they watched, the doors to the hall were pushed open, and Roninâs figure appeared before them.
Elron broke into a smile of relief. With Ronin here, he no longer had to worry about something happening to Blanche and the child in her womb.
To be honest, he had been worried sick ever since they fell into the trap. If something had truly gone wrong, how could he possibly face Ronin?
Upon seeing Ronin, Blancheâs body couldnât help but tremble. She desperately wanted to rush forward and hug him tightly, but the shackles on her feet restricted her movement.
"Ronin, youâre finally here!" she sobbed.
Ronin flashed to her side, tore the manacles and shackles apart with a casual tug, and then pulled Blanche into his arms. "Donât be afraid. Itâs over now."
Only then did Blanche truly break down and cry. "But... my father is dead."
Ronin gently patted her back, comforting her in a soft voice. "I know, I know. His Majesty would not die so senselessly. Leave this to me. But you must be strongâfor yourself, for me, and especially for our child!"
Blanche looked up with teary eyes. Gazing into Roninâs firm, warm eyes, some of the fear and unease in her heart began to fade.
"Okay... so what do we do now?"
She knew that as long as he was here, everything would be all right.
Ronin released Blanche, then walked over to Elron and freed him from his bonds as well.
"My lord, this was my fault. I never expected this situation at Golden Feather Palace. I put her ladyship in danger."
"Youâre not to blame for this. I also never imagined Garrett would be deranged enough to kill his own father."
He glanced at Blanche, whose expression faltered at his words, and said no more on the subject. "The battle outside isnât over. Heal your injuries. Iâm getting you two out of Golden Feather Palace."
"Right!"
Elron immediately cast a Strong Healing Skill to tend to his own injuries. He then used a Healing Skill and a Vitality Skill on Blanche to alleviate her low spirits and exhaustion.
"Letâs go!"
Ronin picked up Blanche, then used his Spiritual Power to levitate Elron, and flew with them toward the Wushan Clanâs manor.
"My lord, you seem even stronger!"
Ronin nodded slightly. "This is the Power of a Legendary."
Elronâs expression became animated. "For them to team up against you... Iâm afraid they donât stand a chance of winning."
Soon, Ronin was back at the manor.
Perhaps due to the immense mental strain or simple exhaustion, Blanche had already fallen asleep in his arms.
After settling her in, Ronin instructed Elron to stay at the manor and watch over Blanche. He then took several Strong Healing Spell Scrolls and returned to the skies above Golden Feather Palace.
Because he had already killed all the guards watching Blanche and Elron, Garrett and the others had not yet realized that the hostages had been rescued.
At this moment, in the square before Oduin Hall, Garrett was already fighting Roninâs clone.
Garrett had deactivated his Flame Seal, not using his full power right from the start. Roninâs clone, aiming to stall for time, was also conserving as much Energy as possible.
The two were merely clashing with their Swordsmanship.
Initially, Garrettâs Swordsmanship was suppressed by Roninâs, and in his haste to attack, he couldnât find an opening for the longest time.
However, after several intense rounds, the cloneâs Power began to wane, allowing Garrett to gain the upper hand.
"And here I thought you were so powerful. Turns out youâre nothing special after all!"
Garrett laughed maniacally. "Fine! Iâll let you witness my true power!"
As soon as he spoke, he activated his Flame Seal, and his Power and speed surged.
BAM!
The force of the next sword strike sent the clone flying, and it crashed heavily into a nearby building, causing a section of it to collapse.
Garrett let out a long, loud laugh, finally releasing all the resentment, anger, and hatred that had been building up since he first met Ronin.
âThis feeling of final vindication is absolutely exhilarating!â
Serdil, Ural, Ference, and the others also wore faint smiles. Ronin had killed Mephisto and defeated the joint attack of Aluba and his group, which had led her and Flame Wings to believe he was a formidable foe.
Now, it seemed they had been overly cautious.
Some of the other noblesâ expressions changed, feeling it was a pity for the Kingdomâs newly risen star. They knew the Wushan Clan was likely finished.
After this unconventional Crown Prince inherited the throne, he would certainly not abandon his plans to trample the Wushan Territory just because Ronin was dead.
Perhaps only Carlos, while feigning distress, was inwardly mocking Garrett. âHeâs been fighting for so long... how will he feel when he finds out it was just a clone?â
"Come on! Didnât you block a joint attack from me, Ference, and Andrea with a single move back then?"
Garrett was determined to reclaim his pride. "Use that move! Letâs see if it can block my attack!"
As he spoke, Thunderbolt began to gather on his Longsword. The compressed Thunderbolt Power was incredibly savage, just like the state of his mind.
Roninâs clone rose from the ruins.
He was not holding the Flowing Flame Sword, so naturally, he could not use the Heaven-Burning Flame.
However, by using all of its remaining Extraordinary Energy, it could still manage to use Ridderâs Secret Skill, Heaven-Burning Flame.
RUMBLE~
All of the cloneâs Energy was burning away. Its entire body emitted a blinding light as all of its Fighting Qi condensed on its longsword before surging into the sky, transforming into a massive, crimson cloud.
"Strike!"
As the longsword fell, a colossal sword shadow emerged from the crimson cloud and thundered down toward Garrett.
"Youâre still not using your strongest move? Are you looking down on me?"
Garrett sneered as roaring bolts of lightning surged forth to collide with the Heaven-Burning Flame.
Amidst the violent roar and shockwaves, his figure charged out forcefully, his sharp sword piercing the heart of the not-yet-dissipated clone.
"Itâs over, Ronin!"
Garrettâs expression was one of pure satisfaction. "Your death will only hasten my ascent to the throne of Emperor Orland!"
The lightning on the sword was destroying the cloneâs structure. As it dissipated, a smirk appeared on the cloneâs lips. "Over? The truth might be a little cruel for you."
HISS...
Accompanied by a piercing hiss, Roninâs clone, which Garrett had run through, erupted in a flash of cyan light and vanished into thin air.
"What!"
Garrettâs eyes widened. He had only meant to destroy Roninâs heart, not his entire body.
âWhatâs going on?â
Serdilâs expression changed as well. âRonin isnât a Witch Soul Knight. Even if he were torn to pieces, there should be flesh and blood left behind. How could the ground be completely empty?â
Suddenly, she looked up at the sky in astonishment, her pupils contracting violently.
A figure was slowly descending from the sky, finally landing right in front of Garrett.
"N-No... Impossible!"
Garrett wore an expression of utter disbelief. He had clearly just stabbed Ronin, so how could the man be standing there without a single scratch?
A cold, mocking sneer appeared on Roninâs face. "You defeated my clone, Garrett. Are you satisfied?"
