Greetings to all my esteemed readers. This book has been pay-to-read for a few days now~
To be honest, the timing for going premium wasnāt great.
For one, itās the end of the year, and Iāve been busy with all sorts of things.
For another, I happened to get into a car accident last Tuesday. Between dealing with the damage assessment and going to the hospital, I used up my entire Chapter buffer. This meant I couldnāt release any extra Chapters for the premium launch, which Iām a bit embarrassed about, haha.
(Next week is going to be tight as well. My grandmother is being laid to rest, so I have to take two days off to go home for the funeral. Iām trying to build up a Chapter buffer this week to ensure there are no interruptions in the release schedule.)
Now that itās been a few days since the premium launch, letās talk about the bookās performance.
I went premium at 300,000 characters, which is quite late. I was the one who delayed the launch by a week because I didnāt feel ready. As it turned out, I still wasnāt ready.
At the time of the launch, I had around 6,700 bookmarks. That number has dropped a little since then, and new growth is slow.
Currently, my average subscription count is 320, with a peak of 417.
What can I say about these numbers? Iām obviously no match for the top authors.
But for a fledgling author like myself, whoās still lacking in skill and experience, I guess itās not too bad?
I have to say, the Fantasy Channel is really a tough market. I was looking at the data analytics site and saw that my book actually managed to hit #99 on the Fantasy Channelās bestseller list...
I honestly never imagined my book could ever be associated with the word "bestselling."
Iād like to take this opportunity to thank all of my esteemed readers for following the story, for all your votes, and for your donations.
Iām not sure what else to say, so Iāll just wish you all an early Happy New Year! THUD! THUD! THUD!
Now, letās talk about the future plot of the book.
Iāve already written the main outline and the plot for each story arc, so the overall direction is pretty clear.
However, when it comes down to the actual writing of each Chapter, I still feel the pressure, especially when I read some of the reader comments.
For example, when some readers said my kingdom-building arcs were too padded, I would try to write through those sections more quickly the next time they came up.
But the moment I start thinking like that, I completely lose track of how to write. I end up writing and deleting, deleting and writing, and after ages of struggling, my word count is still zero. Itās an awful feeling.
Eventually, I just had to steel myself and stop reading the comments for a few days.
...
I wonāt say any more; itās mentally draining to think about.
Finally, while thanking all you esteemed readers for your support once again, I also want to humbly ask for your subscriptions.
Iām hoping the average subscription count can rise to 500. That way, Iāll be able to qualify for Qidianās bonus program~
